ActionScript 3.0 :: Reactivating Class - Standard Button Animation?

Reactivating a class - I've coded myself into a corner and there are sharks there! I took a look around but haven't seen anything about this for AS3, I've built a class that does all the regular for my standard button animation, nothing too complicated to a point. But I'm sort of in a corner as far as reactivating the button after I turn it off. I would think that I could reactivate it on click of another button, but since this is all stated in a class. How to reactivate all but the "this."

Flash has a scrollbar class, documented here: http:[url].......However, besides listing functions and variables, there's no real explanation of how to hook an instance of this class to a textfield.Everything I've tried either ends up in errors or the scrollbar not showing. The documentation lacks a clear way of how you should bind the textfield and the scrollbar toghether, and CS4 isn't providing any help either.how scrollbars work with textfield?

When an Adobe Flash program accesses a camera or microphone in Adobe Flash, Adobe pops up a panel to the user if they want to Allow or Deny access. If the user clicks Deny, I would like to pop the same panel back up. However, trying to access a microphone or camera again doesn't seem to do it.
I know there's Security.showSettings(SecurityPanel.PRIVACY), but this is a slightly different popup which has a "Remember" option which I explicitly do not want.
Is there a way to repeatedly popup the Allow/Deny confirmation without the Remember option?

Can someone tell me the simplest way to add a rollover sound to a standard button in flash ? I was trying to get a small chirp sound to play on rollover of a button. Im using the standard flash button creation hierarchy. Once the fourstages of the button are set. I created a layer above it called sounds then added a blankkeyframe to the over position and dragged the chirp mp3 file onto the stage over the button. Then when i run the webpage the sound effect doesnt play a expected. I tried playing with the dropdownlist of property settings too such as Sound : and theres a dropdown list. I chose chirp.mp3 there but still no luck. Tried some other sync settings too but not able to make this work.

I have created a Flash presentation that includes the standard playback flat > flat grey forward and playback flat > flat grey back buttons from the Windows > Common Libraries > Buttons list. These give me errors when I try to set an event handler to intercept a CLICK event from them. What type ov event should I be trying to set up to handle if CLICK isn't an option?

ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

im trying to do is have a button that shows an animation (created by a duplicateMovieClip function) with onRollOver and stops the animation with onRollOut. It works when i roll over and it stops when i roll out, but then it continues in a loop up to the point where i rolled out (instead of cutting off completely as i would like). Id be extremely grateful if you could tell me where im going wrong.

So I had an interesting request from a client the other day. Basically, he wanted the button (which looks like a sticker) to peel off as the mouse approaches the button. So from the outside of the hover point, it would peel a little. As the mouse gets closer, the peel animation would peel more (or less, depending on the mouse position) until it is 'peeld' off the page and sort of hovering above the background when the mouse is finally over the button.
Does anyone know of some custom classes that might achieve this? It seems like it would be making use of the new 3D in flash10, but I haven't had much time to experiment with 3D in flash.

i have my main timeline with all the code on the first layer all is good there. But then inside a movie clip that is inside another that plays an animation i have some more code to load an external swf.
the code works fine i have tested it but it does not seem to want to work when its put in the timeline inside a movieclip.
I know i can put it on the first main stage layer with all my code and it will work but i want it only to work after i click a button and that button has played its animation.

I'm new to ActionScript 3.0 and I am trying to work my way around Object Orientated Programming.I've designed an application where there are 3 buttons on the stage and a logo. What I want to happen is when a button is clicked, the logo will fade out. Now I understand I need to manipulate the alpha properties of the logo but not sure how I would run the code once the button is clicked. I have my Main.as file loading the properties of the application. So once the FLA file runs, Main.as sets up the buttons and the logo. Now the buttons are put into a display holder and run from menuHolder.as which in turn gets the design of the buttons from button.as - so far with me?
To keep my code clean I have seperated my code into their own files (the design of the buttons into its own .as file, the arrangement of the menu buttons into its own .as file, the logo creation into its own .as file) so that the Main.as file just acts as a loader for placing everything into location on the stage.So my question is that I want to create an animation for the logo (a fade out animation) where the code would be stored in say animationFade.as for example. Then when a button is clicked, the animation plays and the corresponding page is navigated to.[code]

I have a movieclip that shows an animation onRollOver and an animation on RollOut but onRelease the animation enlarge itselfs but now when I'll roll out when the animation isn't open (so i didn't release) the animation plays the animation for the minimizing of the animation. I use two classes for my current project, a document class and a menuscreen class. I have a function in my document class called startGame that i want to run from the menuscreen class when a button is clicked. I'm nearly there but i'm getting an error when i try to run it: 1136: Incorrect number of arguments. Expected 1. The error is at line 17 in the menuscreen class, the line that tries to run the function from the document class. I don't understand what kind of argument it wants. Also, i'm not sure if the startGame function should be (event:Event) Hope someone can enlighten me on what's wrong!

I have created some functions to manage timed pause/play in an animation and I am trying to make a class from them, but it does not work, the play() and stop() functions I use have no effect. The functions work as intended when not in the class.
Here is my code:

I checked that the functions are executed with the trace() and it is the case, so the problem really comes from the play() and stop() functions, and I do not receive any error at compilation or runtime.

I am trying to accomplish the following:
In my Library, I would like to have a symbol that I can drag to the stage, and when I compile my flash movie and click on the symbol it plays a certain animation. I would prefer for the animation to be defined in the class rather than sit on the timeline.
I have tried various approaches to this and I keep hitting walls, so instead of running down more blind alleys I figured I'd just ask the question... what is the best approach in flash to accomplish this?

I'm doing my company website. When a mouse event sends you to my services page I have 4 seperate blocks of text that fade in. So far I have the first 2 texts blocks fading in at the same time. I want to stagger the timing so the second block of text starts its fade in a fraction of a second later, and so on with the remaining text blocks. I have created a simple tween letter animation in AS2. There are two letters (a and b) on the stage that I have to animate and display one by one. Now both are displayed at a time. x and y position of each letter also has been set. Can I set time delay between first and second letter? I have attached my fla. file.

if you'll look at [URL] let it load and then click on FASHION. All goes well. Then click on HOME. All goes well. Now click on FASHION again. after you've done each card once duplicate movie clips start popping up, but I've not called any such function. Here's my code.

I've been following the "Using the Tween Class Part II". I even looked at the "Applying and Animating Filter Effects". Both of them don't offer much insights to animating a filter effect without the use of rollovers.What I'm hoping to achieve is that the glow filter animates after the object it's attached to finishes its animation.So far, I've got the glow effect to show up. However, I can't get it to animate after the object's motion has finished. The following is how I have the codes set up:

There is a pretty good class created by senocular, is called "Path"; basically it allow you to create paths and also create animations using those (like when you use the old good guides on flash).
To create an animation you just ask for a position using a number between 0 and 1. So just using some setInterval is easy to create the animation using a dinamically created path as a guide. The Problem is: How it creates the animation in curves; because is not doing it like flash does it; it basically does something like this

I have a project which consists of 4 frames (+ one starting frame), where each frame contains a Timer class based-animation. You can visit each frame by selecting the appropriate button.
Let's say the animation in frame1 lasts for a total of 30 seconds, but I'm too impatient to watch it and decide to go frame2, which also I don't like. In the background however, the animation for frame1 is still running, for when I go to frame 2 and go back to frame1, the animation starts both from the beginning and also continues to play from where I left off.
I also get an error:

I have been doing some heavy flash animations recently and my current project is making me frustrated. Here is the situation and what I am trying to accomplish:
- 15 second looping animation of a game character that loops continuously. Just breathes in and out while bending down a lil. (I created already)
- Game character has two parts of clothing that need to change color. (I created already)
- Each piece of clothing (2 parts shirt and pants) may have 5 colors each. (I created already)
- Users can change the color by using one of the two picker that has all 5 colors. (I created already)
Problems. - I tried to use the colorMatrix class but it does not adjust the colors the way I need them since the character has highlights and shadows.It tints to much of the overall Color. So I built the character animation 5 times with each with a color from the 5 original colors. All animations are 15 sec. Total of 10 animations, 5 for the shirt and 5 for the pants.
Ex. Top Shirt = Blue
Bottom Pants = Red
User clicks on the color picker for the shirt and wants to change the color to green(green being one of the 5 colors). So with some code I changed out the blue shirt animation with the green animation. But I don't know how to start the green animation where the blue one left of?
Better Example: Blue shirt active and currently on frame 10. While on the blue shirt is on frame 10, user selects the color green from the color picker at the same time. How do i get the green t-shirt to start at frame 11 continuing from where the blue color left off?

Simple question: I have numerous transitional xhtml pages marked up and ready to go. The code is basic but uses a few tags that are not recognized in Flash via HTML import- <h1>,<div> etc. Is there a best practice method for using this code without having to "dummy" down the code for use in Flash? Is there any advantage to importing the xhtml pages as XML and going that route or will I have the same problem?
