I'm building a kind of avatar creator. At the end, I want the user to be able to capture what they have made and repost it to the site, essentially save out their creation as a web-friendly image - png, gif or jpg.
Ideally they'd save out two versions, a full size and a thumbnail.
In any event, is there a way to do something like this?
I would like to ask you, how can i make screen shoot(of movie clip for example) by As3 and send this data to php and there make jpg or somethink like this. I do not want JPGEncoder a thinks like this, because it's slow, when i want make screen 2000x2000 px. I need solution which will be quick, so just send data to php and there find solution how this data convert to jpg.

View 5 RepliesI have an FLV video embedded in a Flash site. It starts with a black screen, so currently as you land on the home page there is just a black space. Is there a way of getting it to sit on the site home page with a different image, ie. a screen shot from elsewhere in the video (without editing the actual video in an editing programme), which displays until the user presses play, then returns to it when the video is finished?
View 9 RepliesI am using Flex 4.1 and AlivePdf for generating pdf. My requirement is like as follows: I have an array of xml data. I need to iterate that array, develop a chart, take a screen shot of that chart (using ImageSnapshot.captureImage) and save it as pdf in desktop folder. Here, I am using the following code snippet,

e.g. if there are 50 xml then 50 pdf need to be stored in that particular location. The problem is that it is taking too long time. Is it possible to minimize to pdf creation time?
I have a flash app based off the Screen shot maker found here: [URL]
Creating a screen shot from an flv on the same server works fine, but when I try to load the contentPath from a remote server the video plays fine, but the .jpg generated in the PHP file is blank with a white background.
Here's the ActionScript:
PHP Code:
import flash.display.BitmapData;
vid.contentPath = flvurl;
var vidid = vidid;

does anyone know the best way to go about creating a flash movie that lets you click a button to dynamically create a JPEG screen shot of the movie. i looked around and found a thread close to what i am looking for but it was done in AS3.

I have a 20 frame movieclip (named mc), and by default the playhead is stopped at frame 0 of that movieclip. At frame 10 I have a movieclip instance there named "apple". Now I want to tell mc to go to frame 10, and immediately access "apple" movieclip. This is what I do (from the main timeline):
mc.gotoAndStop(10);
trace(mc.apple);
It prints out null (appled is undefined). However, when I put a timer (say of 5 milliseconds) before calling the trace statement, then it works and can access apple. I don't want to rely on timers, since the timer duration depends on different circumstances. At the same time, I do not want to put code anywhere except the first frame of the main timeline.
I have several SWFs built and ready for playback in a container SWF with volume controls, and next/previous/pause/play/stop controls (a-la a DVD player or VCR). This particular project is a product demo, with different scenes that you can navigate through using the on-screen "remote" or just let it play through. I need to know how to preload all of the external SWFs in one shot. I don't want to load them as the demo plays, or when they're needed. It's fairly critical that they all be loaded during one preloader sequence so that they can play seamlessly between eachother.
View 8 RepliesI'm pretty new to actionscript and so but I manage to read and understand and alter other people's code a little. I'm testing functions to make myself a First Player Shooter game and now I have problem with the fire delay. I want a limit of let's say 1 shot per second. How do I do that?
I thought that maybe restricting the clickings counted, so it doesn't register the mouse clicks too close to eachother. Or put some kind of interval at the functions delaying the sound and event function, but that seems too hard. The game so far: [URL] As u see one get multiple sounds when clicking a lot and it's possible to get several points by clicking the ball a lot.
Also, when the ball goes behind the tree it's not supposed to be able to shoot. The Flash File: [URL] It's not the exact same, some junk code trying to make the delay... The file I used for help (if someone finds it useful for making a game of their own [URL] Here u see the target isn't shot behind the pics. Is that because it is a button there and a mc in my file?
How can i take a snape shot of swf movie at runtime. I want to put this feature both in online application and ofline application. Requirement is this that when user click on a capture button a bitmap of flash movie should be saved on his/her computer.

I have an AIR application that will go full screen when the application starts:
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The stage size is 2560 x 1024. And I have 2 moniters (1280 x 1024 , 1280 x 1024) When I start the application, it shows my application on one of my moniter only.
I need the left side of the stage to be shown in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to be shown in moniter 2. Currently, both sides are shown in moniter 1, and in moniter 2, it shows nothing but my default desktop. *The blue color line is a divider for better visual purpose. How do I make the left side of the stage to appear in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to appear in moniter 2 when the application starts in full screen mode?
Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.
My question is what needs to be done in order to make a .swf file go into full screen without falling to a black screen when a movie is played? I have tried coding it, however I come up with the following error.

What should I do to fix this? This is not going to be an HTML file, however, so the initial thought of changing the publish settings does not seem to work this time.
I'm creating a flash site. I want the flash movie to fill the entire browser window. What size should I make the canvas, I've been experimenting with sizes and a canvas size of 750*370 fills my browser well on a resolution of 800*600
How do you accomodate different resolution settings? What's the most commonly used canvas size for this type of project.
I need to load textbox.text in to string Obj and find the x y coordinates of some characters by the start and end index of that string. I am already doing this by using textSnapShot class and it is working great, but this class is working only on static textbox it is not working on dynamic textbox. any one knows any way of doing this! here is the snapshot function it returns xy coords:
function GetStringXY(startindex, endindex):Array{
var xy:Array = new Array();
var mc:MovieClip = this;

I am creating a full screen projector with flash CS4. In the projector I have more videos, starting from an swf player-
The problem I encounter is this:
The projector starts correctly FULLSCREEN (using AS). The video plays 900x506 correctly. If I click on the player, to get the video full screen, it works. But when I press ESC, not only the video, but also the PROJECTOR looses full screen.
This is a bit annoying. Is there a way to apply the "back to normal size" only to the video? I do not want to prevent the app to be exited from full screen, it's not a problem if the user wants to exit the projector full screen. But not when the user exits the video from fullscreen mode.
How to target only the video?
i am wondering from this code, it makes the stage full screen, does it also makes the content of my movieclips scaled to full screen? i have tried this code and it does not seem to do that, how can i make my content to scale to fill a stage's full screen? i have a Movieclip containing a background with a class to make special effects on the background, i am having trouble making the background be "fullscreened" nicely with the stage.
View 1 Repliesi am a beginner in action script / flex framework and i am facing a problem: i would like to have like a menu bar always anchor the bottom of the screen in normal and full screen mode... i try to set my component with bottom = "1" (so it should alway be at 1 pixel from the bottom of the stage ... But .. NO :)

The problem that I'm facing is in regards to the width of a sliding menu that I've created. The menu slides based on mouse x position and width of the movie. I would like the menu to fit to the entire screen regardless of the users resolution. I wanted to know if there's a way to detect a users screen width and then adjust the variable for screen width within my actionscript .fla if necessary.

View 6 RepliesI'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

I'm making a side-scrolling game, with a (theoretically) infinite background. I have a block engine that places the blocks on the bitmap canvas. Now here's the catch. I'm using the bitmapData.scroll() function. Now unless I clear the screen each time the character moves, it's going to leave ghost images of the border of the screen, like this picture: zanzlanz. tumblr. com/post/18857712784 If I clear the screen each time, then it generates a lot of lag (because it has to repaint the objects again). I'm a bit lost on how I can scroll without leaving streaks of the side of the screen and without repainting the entire screen.
