I want to make a box come from off screen then bounce back and forth and then come settled down in the middle of the screen. It can be random bouning intervels or a set amount.

So I am trying to get a ball to move around the screen, and when it gets to the walls of the stage I want it to change directions. So far, I have this code:

This is not in the main timeline, it is in the symbol timeline for Ball. With this, I have the ball moving around and when it reaches the end of the stage it resets with a random velocity/angle. When I uncomment the ballDirx and ballDiry lines and comment out the this.x = 0 line, the ball doesn't change directions, it just stops moving when it reaches the end of the stage.

1. I would like to make an animation where a dice roles from the left of screen towards the middle. Bit like this: I am thinking an animation, then put it on a path (not sure how to do this, but I know it can be done.) I have heard that swift3d could help me here, if so, give me a heads up. I could also make it an animation and make it bounce on the spot and use the inflash camera and draw back the distance to seem as if it is moving forward. Basically the main problem is how do I make the animation of the cube?

I've been trying to attempt to make it so a .flv video will fit to the entire screen of the browser window. ( I already have my .swf file fit to re-size to any browser on any computer. I just can't figure out how to make the video as well) And obviously an external video so the flash file wont take forever to load.The point is this is to be able to have the Video be the background. So I may put content (Links, information or whatever else) on top of the video.

My question is what needs to be done in order to make a .swf file go into full screen without falling to a black screen when a movie is played? I have tried coding it, however I come up with the following error.

After successfully embedding a *.gif image and resizing it (pretty spesh i know), I decided I wanted the image (a soccerball) to bounce around the screen diagonally, continuously, much like the way the old screensavers used to do.
for the ball movement i have used four seperate
addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, event#);
calls for each of the four possible diagonal movements I wanted for my ball; those being: downright, downleft, upright, upleft (for want of a better description)and I used if statements to change the diagonal movement of the ball when it hits the edge/edges of the screen;i.e.

and this works well for about 30 seconds and I can see the ball can bounce diagonally in each of the four directions, after which time the ball decides to move straight down, straight left, continue diagonally for a time, and then straight for a few seconds then come to rest on the left side of the screen near the bottom.And it doesn't necessarily happen when the ball hits directly in the corner of the screen, (I have tested it using various starting positions).

I am new in flash developer. I want to set my frame at the center of the screen interdependent of screen size. but we are working on full screen view (means stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT).Logically I want one background image at back side, which cover all part of the screen, and on that background image I want to set my frame image at center of screen with fix size of (1000 X 750 px).

I have a map that uses a control to zoom in on it, but when it zooms it always uses the registration point to scale the image(map). This registration point is always located at the center of the image(map). There are 4 stages of zoom and each one then re-zooms at the center of the image(map).
I need this to zoom relative to the center of the users viewport area.

When using BasicLayout (i.e. absolute positioning) - what is the best approach to place a Flex component in the center of the application?In the test case below I'm using x="{width/2}" but this gives me at least 2 problems:How do I account for the component dimensions (the ProgressBar in the test case)?Is the binding {width/2} a good idea to use? Wouldn't it send unnecessary DATA_CHANGE events in some cases?And finally I wonder, how this all applies to full screen applications using StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL - because currently my application is aligned to the top-left in the full screen mode and there is a white dead zone on the right of it. this is hard to explain, but I can't find out how to make it so when I press a button, a menu pops up in the middle. How would this work for an online game? Since I don't want it to go to the next frame, how could this be done? when I push the button, a shape pops up in the middle of the screen.

I'm new to AS 3.0 and I don't get this fluid thing fully. Everything works fine when I want my movieclip to align to the middle of the screen but when I try to make a button (or any movieclip) always align to bottom right I can't figure out how. Here's my AS, how do I make the "ball_mc" align bottom left?

I'm trying to create a navigational menu, What I have it 7 buttons on the top of the screen. When a button is selected it moves to the middle of the screen and all the other buttons slide over one, filling the empty space. If a second button is clicked the current one in the middle of the screen moves to the end of the line (position 7).

I have an animated storybook that reader moves through each page (scene) with forwardBtn and backBtn. Each scene (in it''s own keyframe) I have placed a voiceover on the time line. When I view movie the forward btn plays scenes and sound correctly. The prolblem is with the back btn, When bacBtn in pressed the previous scene plays but the sound from the other sceane keeps going.actions from back btn below

The problem that I'm facing is in regards to the width of a sliding menu that I've created. The menu slides based on mouse x position and width of the movie. I would like the menu to fit to the entire screen regardless of the users resolution. I wanted to know if there's a way to detect a users screen width and then adjust the variable for screen width within my actionscript .fla if necessary.

I'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

I'm making a side-scrolling game, with a (theoretically) infinite background. I have a block engine that places the blocks on the bitmap canvas. Now here's the catch. I'm using the bitmapData.scroll() function. Now unless I clear the screen each time the character moves, it's going to leave ghost images of the border of the screen, like this picture: zanzlanz. tumblr. com/post/18857712784 If I clear the screen each time, then it generates a lot of lag (because it has to repaint the objects again). I'm a bit lost on how I can scroll without leaving streaks of the side of the screen and without repainting the entire screen.

I have an AIR application that will go full screen when the application starts:
stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The stage size is 2560 x 1024. And I have 2 moniters (1280 x 1024 , 1280 x 1024) When I start the application, it shows my application on one of my moniter only.
I need the left side of the stage to be shown in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to be shown in moniter 2. Currently, both sides are shown in moniter 1, and in moniter 2, it shows nothing but my default desktop. *The blue color line is a divider for better visual purpose. How do I make the left side of the stage to appear in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to appear in moniter 2 when the application starts in full screen mode?
