When the button on the right, mc goes forward until stop(), when the button on the left mc goes reverse until the stop(). In the first case i use gotoanplay, and everything goes fine. I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.
Here is my code below dealing with the volume slider.

The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.
I'm creating a movieclip that shows some photo samples with two arrows at the bottom. I want it so that if the user presses on the right arrow, the movie clip plays forward and goes toward the end to "shuffle" through the image samples. But I would also like them to be able to press on the left arrow and be able to play the movieclip backwards to "shuffle" back toward the beginning of the images.
The closest thing I can think of that would be similar to this would be the way you can shuffle through album images in iTunes.I just need to know the Actionscript 2.0 code to play the movieclip in reverse.
I've got a movie clip which i want to affect with 2 buttons. On a mouse over, the right button makes the movie clip play, and tween to the right, and on mouse out, it stops. I want it to do the same thing but in reverse for the left button. Here's what i've got so far...

I am trying to play and reverse a movieclip using the following script:

It works but just only one frame. Do I need to loop this function - if so how.
I need to have the ability to spin or rotate an object such as a globe. I have 2 rollover mc's that spin the globe but I am having trouble getting it to loop on the backwards spin. Right now I have it acivating the mc to play fowarding in its timeline then loop but what is the best way to get it to go in reverse. My .fla can be found here [URL].
View 1 RepliesI am building a site in flash that contains a number of cog movie clips. In this animation I have a lever that can shut off the cogs and make the cogs go forward and reverse. I seem to have the forward and stop functionality working, but I can't seem to get the cogs to go in reverse in a constant loop. They will only go in reverse until the beginning of the timeline. Below is the script I am using:

My inquiry is, if I have a MovieClip with an animation, and I need to play this MovieClip by button, I know I need to use this action // on (rollOver) // telltarget() // play()
but if I want to rollout before the animation reach the last frame, for example the frames are 90 and I decided to rollout in 50.
How I can make the frames go backward to frame 0 after I rollout of the button ??
For your information I have MC flash 8 professional.

I'm making a website and what I want to achieve is a button that plays the movieclip (which is a piece of paper going onto the stage) and when you click it again it reverses that clip. I've tried loads of things and only got code that allows two buttons to reverse and go forward.

I'm looking for a tutorial on how to create a slider to control the frames/time of a embedded movie clip using as3. Essentially I'm looking to recreate a thing like on the YouTube video player, but it wont need to have anything to do with buffering, just a way of pausing/playing a movie clip from a particular frame or time position.
I'm new to actionscript, I want to have a single animation and two sliders. slider1 will advance and rewind the movieclip,we'll call it "scrubbing", while slider2 will change the highest frame of the mc acheivable by the "scrub" slider1. Therefore if slider2 is at one end slider1 will not advance the mc at all, while if slider2 is maxed out then slider1 will "scrub" the whole movie.

I have a nested MC that functions as a continuous slider; when you mouse right of center it slides one way and when you mouse left of center it slides the opposite direction. Right at center it stops. The problem I have is that I'm using this as a menu at the bottom of a .swf and there are other places to mouse on the page, which means that this menu is constantly in motion even when it's not being used. I want it to stop when it isn't being used, only because it's an MC I can't use the onMouseOut command to stop the clip. I tried making a button that targets the clip and stops it when you roll over the button but it doesn't work.

I have created a slider to control the width and height of a movieclip. However the numbers currently go the opposite way I would like them to go. currently if the slider is at the top that counts as 0 because of the y coordinate and the bottom counts as 200. what type of equation would I need to flip this so if the slider is at the top it's 200 and at the bottom it is 0?

What code would I add to have a seperate movieclip play frame by frame based on where my slider is. Ex: My slider is on the far left, seperate movieclip is at end of its timeline. If I move the slider quickly back to the beginning the movieclip plays backwards quickly to its beginning and stops.

I have a menu bar as a movie clip and another movie clip acting as a slider. I want to on pressing a button on the Menu bar movie clip get the slider to slide across with easing. however I don't want the easing to be infinite so can't use a this._x*=.9 or some decimal < 1. Loop function only acts on the single frame so it too quick to see.
View 1 RepliesWhat I have is a map that you can click on points and it will zoom in, you can also click on a "plus/minus" buttons to zoom in and out (I even have the mouse wheel zooming in and out). The client wanted me to add a "zoom slider bar" to it so you know you could move it up and down to scale it. Everything is working except the slider, I can't seem to get it to work with the position of the slider. All of the zoom functionality is there but the slider is killing me.
I am putting up the fla file since there is a lot of code in there and I didn't want to put it all in the forum. if you look in the fla in frame ten on line 726 you can find the function that is supposed to handle the zooming when you move the slider. Up on line 74 you can find the slider onPress and onRelease functions, but those I believe should be fine.
I have two movieclips in the centre of my stage. One is on top of the other and fade's between them using left/right buttons.I want to change this so that they slide in like a jQuery slider does. I don't want to change the initial position of the movieclips (on top of each other) just change the fade effect to a slide in.

This seems to work ok, however, the problem is encountered when I go to drag the MC...for some unknown reason it ventures off its slider bar and goes to the left. I will attach the .fla.
I am trying to create a basic timeline, similar to the timeline we all use in flash (see attached).
I have a playhead slider, which when dragged, just drags within its startDrag() limits.
I also have horizontal window scroller which also when dragged, just drags within its startDrag() limits.
I am trying to work out how to get the horizontal window scroller to scroll when the playhead slider hits the left or right edge. I am using hittest for this collision.
I have the playHeadSlider scrolling along the top. When playHeadSlider collides with hittestThing I want mcContents to then move.
It kind of works.. mcContents moves when the playHeadSlider is in collision with the hittestThing.. but it just moves rather than 'drags' across. I have it set up so that mcContents is twice the width (approx) of mcScrollWindow.
I need to somehow update what I have so that if the playHeadSlider collides with hittestThing on the right, mcContents only moves to the right and if playHeadSlider collides with hittestThing2 on the left, mcContents only moves to the left.

The slider works well when I'm in the scene that contains the slider. When I go to a scene that does not include the slider, I get the following output error. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. How can I stop the stage.add.EventListener when I navigate to other scenes that don't include the slider. This is my first as3 project. The project functions as it should but I don't know if the output error will cause problems later.
