would like to know if there is any way to create and call an action from outside of flash that will resize the swf to dimensions I set?for example if I make a banner that is 300x250, and I want that exact banner in 336x280, instead of entering each swf source and resizing it (I have many banners) I would like to make it easier...
View 2 RepliesI've got a little problem with BitmapFill, I'm trying to use a sprite as a container for various things and i would like it to have a filled pattern background. my problem is that i want it to resize the sprite to the height of the window but not have the background fill resize, and add more / crop as the window size is changed. to illustrate what i mean, please view the diagram attached to this post .

I have made 1 Flash banner 728x90, the next one has smaller dimensions (468x60) but the proportions are the same so, I duplicated the document, grabbed the movie clip containing the animation and used the transform tool to make it the correct size.Some of the images need replacing as resizing didn't treat them well. But since I am trying to add them to the resized movie clip they appear too small.

My goal- when I publish it and view it in the browser, when I resize the browser window I DO NOT WANT the website to scale up/down accordingly.At the moment my flash website is scaling according to the resizing of the browser window which is causing awful aliasing to my logo (jagged edges).The logo is 250 x 50 and I don't want the logo to change size while resizing the browser window. And at the moment the logo is growing or shrinking when changing the browser window.

I am a motion media designer trying to incorporate some of my work for a client into a website for her Christmas gift. I am trying to resize a .swf to match the browser size, as the fixed size is really messing with my otherwise-resizing layout. Every time I set the width/height of the .swf to "100%" or "auto", the movie gets cut off at the top and bottom under the div containers. When I change the size of the container to 100%, I get a long, thin movie. I've copied my code below, Feel free to criticize anything else about my code, too--I'm a CSS virgin.

I want to create a website with a background that will auto-resize according to the stage size using AS3.But what i need to know before I do it is: What is the right resolution for the background picture?I want people with resolution starting from 1024x768 to view the website correctly and I also want people with 24'' monitors to view the background with good quality so I guess the image needs a high resolution. I started with 1936x1288 but when I resize the stage to fullscreen the bottom of the image gets cut off.

How do you prevent all of your text automatically changing the font size when a browser is made full screen? I have a number of fixed field sizes I want my text to stay within but when the browser is expanded to full screen it changes the fonts so the text no longer fits in the text boxes and it forces scrolling.

I am not simply trying to contain things and have the container resize without the contents resizing. I would just use a simple MovieClip for that.. My main focus is on the use of BitmapFill. I'm trying to make a repeating background image for a container; thus far I'm able to draw my BitmapFill sprite to the size I want. (Which is the stage's height) but when the stage is resized, I want to re-size my container but have my containers BitmapFill crop or add more as the window is resized bigger or smaller. Allow me to illustrate what I mean:
I've got a simple rectangle sprite that fills with a bitmap from the library and a simple resize handler function that detects when the window has been resized.what I would like to do is have my rectangle resize to the height of the stage.stageHeight maintaining its bitmap fill, but not resizing the bitmap fill or any children within the sprite.
From what I've read, this is a little tricky because the sprite resizes in relation to what it contains.. or.. something like that.. I really don't know any more.. I saw one example where a person extended the sprite class but I don't know why or how..

I'm loading a few pngs/jpgs externally so they can be swapped out occasionally, and the issue I'm running into is when they are shrunk they become fairly choppy. Is there a way to have flash re-render them, or do something to smooth the resizing as opposed to going in and resizing every file manually myself?

At certain points within the film, the viewer has the ability to select from a few options that will direct them to an external video clip (they are flashback scenes). The main story pauses when the user selects a flashback scene and I'm clear on how to achieve this.
However, my issue is that once the flashback scene ends and the external video closes, I'm not sure how the main story will resume. Is it possible for it to auto-play (resume) in some way? My last resort would be to have the viewer select a play button - this is only because I do not want a break in the narrative and want to limit the amount of clicks the viewer has to make.
I am trying to build a web banner, the functionality of which has to be pretty identical to the one on the following home page http://www.perfectblue.co.uk/. The only difference is that I am using static images, not flvs like in that banner. I am sitting here planning how to build it but its going right over my head. Can anyone give me any advice about how to script something that works like that? At a first glance, I thought possibley onRollOver / RollOut functions but now I'm not so sure.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to create a flash banner ad that loads when a page loads and gives the user the option to minimize it. When the ad is minimized, I wanted to leave a box (that could also function as a mini version of the larger ad)that could be clicked and reload the ad if desired.
I have been struggling with how to do this. I tried creating two movies, one for the main ad and one for the smaller box that remains after the ad is minimized. I inserted the object code for the larger ad into my html and it loads and will load the smaller ad then the button (for minimizing the ad) is clicked but the smaller ad loads in the area defined by the object code for the larger ad. I am not sure how to work around this.

Right I have created a flash banner ad and taken it into dreamweaver, I thought I could just link it to its website easily in DW but I can't.

URL...as you can see ive uploaded everything possible to do with the banner rotator with a little help from a guy on this forum. (if your veiwing in firefox the site may look messed up) and it just stays loading for ages and doesnt eventually load.and if anyone knows the code so my site can be viewed in all screen resolutions without having to slide across at the bottom.

I'm using actionscript 2.0/CS4.
I have a stop action on the last frame of the last text movieclip that plays. And it seems to get hung up here. When I remove the stop action it just loops that movieclip and not the whole animation.
