I noticed that in the new version of flash (CS5) that if I accidently send my program into a infinite loop spewing out the same error over and over again just clicking the 'x' on the flash file doesn't end it any more. Is there a keyboard short-cut that kills the flash file so I don't have to restart flash every time it happens?

I needed a way to invoke softkeyboard in android platforms, and i got to know how to do it form here Flash APIs for Android Platform. Now i need to kill the keyboard, basically there is a button which i want to use to toggle the keyboard. Flash has provided a way to invoke the keyboard but not to kill it.(never understood how they work). One more issue is that when i click the down button on softkeyboard which is located on bottom left of the screen, the Softkeyboard_Deactivate event is not fired. It seems its fired only when the focus shifts from one object to another.

View 3 RepliesIn Flash CS5 (Mac OS). Window menu... right at the bottom it lists the windows you've got open with a number in front ie:
1 project.fla
2 class.as
3 interface.as
Now... if I click (with the mouse) to focus (activate) the window menu and press a number key corresponding to a window in the list, Flash kindly takes me to that window. Q: What is the 100% keyboard shortcut way to do this? I've had a go at wading in and just pressing keys... as my last-but-one strategy for finding this out. My last strategy being "ask".

View 1 RepliesIs there any way to create a keyboard shortcut for the "show in library" command that only shows in the context-menu when I right-click on a symbol? would be very handy, because I could need it quite very often... I didn't finde the equivalent of "show in library" among any of the commands available. I already thought of recording an action that does exactly that (selecting the current symbol in library) and then call it via the "commands" section, but I don't want to do it that indirectly, would be very nice to have a "clean" way to do this.

I've been trying to figure out how to use Keyboard events, so I tried out an example I saw online, but I ran into a problem. It's supposed to tell me whenever a key is pressed, and it works for keys such as ctrl and shift, but not for letter keys. For example,when testing in Flash ("test movie"), if I press "v", the Flash player doesn't react, but the Flash editor switches to the selection tool (keyboard shortcut "v"). How do I fix this? Im making a game and trying to find the best keyboard keys. I mean, if u are holding down shift+d+f the final key f doesn't work bec. of keyboard buffer. etc. If someone know what kind of keys are the best match for flash 2 player game post them here please. So when like 6 keys are pressed at one time, the last keys pressed, will still work. And player won't get stuck.

View 4 RepliesI need to trap keyboard events. My code works OK in test mode (ctrl + enter), but not when I run the swf or projector directly on the desktop. My project is going on CD, not in a browser, and the only thing on the stage is an instance of the FLVplayback component. And while I'm at it....does anyone know the code to simulate clicking the windows Restore button? That's what the keypress is for. My client doesn't want the video running in real full-screen; they want their users to click the Maximize button, so they'll see the title bar, then press Esc to restore the window, again.

View 6 RepliesIn Flash (AS3) I am creating a contact form in that I have taken one " Submit Button" , one " Reset Button", four input text fields "Name, Email, Subject, Message" with instance names " contact_name, contact_email, contact_subject, contact_message". I am confused about setFocus and killFocus.
In AS3, I have given

Now when I publish this file, bydefault the input text field shows with text "Name, Email, Sub, Message". Now my requirement is if I click on Name Field so the text "Name" should get disappear so that I can enter my name, after that I click on Email field the text "Email" should get disappear at the same time I don't want to lose my Name which is entered in Name Field. If I click in Subject text Field the text "Sub" should get disappear but not to lose the Name and Email data entered by me. If I click in Message text Field the text "Message" should get disappear but I don't want to lose the data which was entered in remaining text fields.
This might be a dumb question. I think I already know the answer, just clarify. If you declare a object in varible1 and then pass the value into varible2. If you decide to null varible2 would that kill just the reference or the object itself as well. I want to say no, but then again, everything you do to the reference it self, also affects the space in memory.these are the 2 varibles in my class.

I've just finished a simple Flash 5 game in ActionScript. Everything about it works fine except when I try and turn it into a web page. After I create the page, the graphic controlled by the player no longer responds to the keyboard. Can anyone explain why this is and how I can fix it?
View 4 RepliesI double-clicked on a bitmap-item in the library and instead of opening the properties-windows where you can change compression, import and so on, the focus changed to a random explorer window and flash got "locked". Flash probably thought that it actually opened a new sub-window and waited for it being closed, but there was no such window! Seems like the open-procedure failed and the next window to focus on was just an explorer window. Closing this one didn't get the focus back to flash. What a luck, I could still save the file using ctrl-s but couldn't get back to the application. So I had to kill Flash with the task-manager.

View 2 RepliesI have 2 scenes. In both scenes, I have a movie clip that moves via keyboard control. If the goto next scene is triggered by the movie clip in the first scene the keyboard control works in the second. However, if I use a button to move to the next scene then there isn't any control over the movieclip in that scene. I've traced the keyCode in the second scene and it is picked up but the switch statement doesn't run. I'm migrating to Actionscript 3.0 and updating something I created in 2.0. I have a main.swf file and it will load an external swf file.I have this code in the external swf file:[code]So when the external swf file loaded in the main.swf, the color_picker is visible in the main.swf.Everything works just fine but I just need to know how to remove (Kill the onEnterFrame) when the external swf file has been unloaded or replaced with another external swf file?
