im creating an xml image gallery and its going well, but for some reason when i add the loaded image to the stage even though i've specified it to go to the center of the stage it doesn't, and won't center until I resize the stage

View 1 RepliesI have this movie clip on a stage that I need everything to be center on stage even after resize.the clip structure is rootclip.child.child.the first time I click the button the tween works fine. If you click a second time the clips start start to drift away from center stage. And if I resize the stage everything seem to fall apart. the 203.5 is half the width of the MC that I'm trying to center. So it's total width is 407px.

The problem is: I can center the stage at top or at bottom, but if it is centered at top, when the window is resized obviously the top will be quiet and the bottom of the page will get bigger/smaller.If it is centered at bottom, what will change is the top. how can I center at the middle, and on resize it changes the same top and bottom values ? Another question, is it possible when on resize at center to resize until X pixeis at top and then resizing only at bottom ?
Edit: Basically, I want the stage to be centered until X resolution, and then I want it to just 'grow' on the bottom and not on the top
How do I center (on stage) a loaded image inside a createEmptyMovieClip ? I've read so many threads...can't seem to make it work. here's my script:

i am trying to build a resize with stage image gallery. It is working except for when you first open the swf the image has it's original size, and it only adjusts to the stage when the stage resizes.s the script:

I am trying to center an image in the middle of the stage and scale it proportionally to the correct aspect ratio based on its loader's size when the image is loading.
In my main app runner I do:

everything is working well with the exception of the background image/stage. Whenever I preview it in a browser, the site gets stuck in the upper left corner. I need it to automatically resize according the to viewers browser size. How do I do this? From what I've seen online, it involves possibly putting everything in a movieclip, which I can do, I just don't know how to proceed from there.
View 2 RepliesI am loading a MovieClip using MovieClipLoader. When the MovieClip starts playing, it changes the alignment of my stage to LT, which incorrectly repositions all the other objects on my stage.
Is there anyway for me to:
Prevent the MovieClip from changing the alignment of my stage? Adding an event handler to an appropriate event, so that I can reset the stage alignment when it gets changed?
I have already tried resetting the stage alignment on the onLoadInit event of MovieClipLoader and the onEnterFrame event of MovieClip, but both seem to reset the alignment too soon.
1)Can i assign different stage alignment for consecutively running many swf file,loaded by loader method
2) Is center alignment possible by AS3
I've ceated 18 buttons 1-18 on two rows and using the alignment tool made then all gapped the same and in line etc. I now want to centre the two rows of buttons on the stage. I've shift clicked to select all the buttons but no matter what option I pick in window alignment I can't get it to work.

Is it possible to control the alignment of images loaded into a UILoader ? My images are loaded in via XML. Most are are the size of the UILoader dimensions 960 x 482, but there are a handful which are portrait format and these are being aligned to the top left of the UILoader. I would like to center these instead.

My first scene which is a intro clip, containing motion tweens of text, works fine but when I click enter and get to my site as soon as I move the resizer on my browser my stage jumps far off the page and I can only see the bottom of it.
I was wondering how "relative alignment" such as on the easybit-site (take the window and resize it) is done? All objects on the stage are positioned always relative to the actual window-size without losing quality, but how???
View 2 RepliesI am recently making a website in flash cs3 using flash actionscript 2. I have currently put a zoom&pan image viewer into one of the website pages to use as a map viewer. However once pasted into a empty movie clip it seems to be displaying a whole lot of white space once fully zoomed out and the image being only around a 1/4 of the assigned area. I am thinking its something to do with the alignment. I have also attached the swf file, for quick view. The image can be found if you enter corporate in the first window then venue in the side menu.

I have a problem with the TLF text alignment issue. The problem comes when am adding an image in the TLF text and some text in the text box after the image tag and setting the format tag to leftMargin.<TEXTFORMAT LEFTMARGIN = "20">Some text goes here< /TEXTFORMAT>. what am expecting is if i insert a image tag means it needs to come in the first column and text in the second column just like the normal textfield. For normal text the TEXTFORMAT tag is working perfectly for TLF its not working is there any chance to rectify the problem.

I am just getting back into using Flash after not using it for about 5 years. I'm having an issue with the simplest thing! I want to be able to type pixel values into the Properties panel to transform/resize an object from the OBJECT CENTER as reference point. If I use the transform tool, it uses the center of the object as the reference. However, if I do as above and type values into the Properties width/height, the object transforms with the top left corner as reference. If I need two or more objects sized exactly the same, or if I want to do a "zoom in" effect, using the transform tool is very ineffecient!
My object seems to be showing that the center is set as the reference point (white circle in center of object). Also, the objects I am working with are jpg's and psd's imported to the library, and made into movie clip symbols.
I am working on image and i like to scale or resize the image by dragging and resize option.same working as "free transform tool" in flash (design part); i need same functionality in application.
View 7 RepliesWhen I resize the browser it calculates the new center and eases the movie into position. It also aligns with the left edge when the window gets smaller than the movie. This has probably been discussed somewhere, but I can't find anything.

I have a problem with the following actionsctipt. what this actionscript does is to position the "mc_content" in the middle of page all the time, even the user trying to resize the window. but my problem is when you open the window "mc_content" is not align in the middle, but after you resize the browser it will adjust in the middle of the page.

I am trying to have flash draw a line from the center of the stage out and increment around the stage. Not sure what math I would use to do this though. So far I have the line going out to a certain point but not sure how to change that point so that it circles around whatever the dimensions of my stage would be.
So far I have this:
