IDE :: Mc Tween Resize Center Of Image?
Jan 23, 2009I'm just trying to figure out to get my MC to resize from the center instead of the top left? Can I change the registration point or something in AS?

View 1 Repliesim creating an xml image gallery and its going well, but for some reason when i add the loaded image to the stage even though i've specified it to go to the center of the stage it doesn't, and won't center until I resize the stage
View 2 RepliesI have been creating an XML gallery now got to showing the big images part. I want to create a resizing background [URL]. I can create the effect but it always resizes from the top left not center.

I am just getting back into using Flash after not using it for about 5 years. I'm having an issue with the simplest thing! I want to be able to type pixel values into the Properties panel to transform/resize an object from the OBJECT CENTER as reference point. If I use the transform tool, it uses the center of the object as the reference. However, if I do as above and type values into the Properties width/height, the object transforms with the top left corner as reference. If I need two or more objects sized exactly the same, or if I want to do a "zoom in" effect, using the transform tool is very ineffecient!
My object seems to be showing that the center is set as the reference point (white circle in center of object). Also, the objects I am working with are jpg's and psd's imported to the library, and made into movie clip symbols.
I am working on image and i like to scale or resize the image by dragging and resize option.same working as "free transform tool" in flash (design part); i need same functionality in application.
View 7 RepliesI have this movie clip on a stage that I need everything to be center on stage even after resize.the clip structure is rootclip.child.child.the first time I click the button the tween works fine. If you click a second time the clips start start to drift away from center stage. And if I resize the stage everything seem to fall apart. the 203.5 is half the width of the MC that I'm trying to center. So it's total width is 407px.
ActionScript Code:
this.startButton.onRelease = function () {
var introHead_currentPos_x = _root.instructMc._x;[code]....
When I resize the browser it calculates the new center and eases the movie into position. It also aligns with the left edge when the window gets smaller than the movie. This has probably been discussed somewhere, but I can't find anything.
View 2 Replieshow to make bgImage align in the center on resize, instead of top left?
Code:
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
_global.imgConstantWidth = bgImage._width;
_global.imgConstantHeight = bgImage._height;

I have a problem with the following actionsctipt. what this actionscript does is to position the "mc_content" in the middle of page all the time, even the user trying to resize the window. but my problem is when you open the window "mc_content" is not align in the middle, but after you resize the browser it will adjust in the middle of the page.

The problem is: I can center the stage at top or at bottom, but if it is centered at top, when the window is resized obviously the top will be quiet and the bottom of the page will get bigger/smaller.If it is centered at bottom, what will change is the top. how can I center at the middle, and on resize it changes the same top and bottom values ? Another question, is it possible when on resize at center to resize until X pixeis at top and then resizing only at bottom ?
Edit: Basically, I want the stage to be centered until X resolution, and then I want it to just 'grow' on the bottom and not on the top
resizing movieclip using action script. I doing a resize on the width of the moviclip. What i got is the movieclip resize on center, but i want is on left. the code i use as below:
MovieClip.prototype.resizeMe = function(w) {
var speed = 3;
this.onEnterFrame = function() {[code]......
I have problem to center my movie clip by tween class, check my file. I need the object to center and it goes to left..
Code:
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
import fl.transitions.TweenEvent;
stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;
stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;

am not much a coder but am learning i just wana know how i can center my flash site/content/background on browser resize
i found a tutorials about that exactly the only problem was am using AS2 and the tutorials is for damn AS3 so please if you know one for AS2 then direct me or if you got som code u wana share dont hesitate 2 post it 4 me
Is there a way to use the scaleX and scaleY property in conjunction with the Tween class to scale from the center?ActionScript Code:[code]above unfortunately only scales from top left. This is not a class I can go in and move all the content by hand (so that the registration point is in middle) as it's all dynamic. I've looked al over but none seem to make use of the Tween class.
View 8 RepliesHow can I center a loaded photo [lets say 200x300] in an image control [lets say 400x600]? My image control has fixed dimensions while my contents have different dimensions and I want them to get centered automatically.
View 1 RepliesI have a tween set up in actionscript... something like this
Code:
function tween(){
var tweenPart1:Tween = new Tween(_root.tweenMe), "_x", Strong.easeOut, 100, 50, 3, true);
}
That isn't the problem... it actually works very well.
But I also have another peice of script.
Code:
_root.tweenMe.onEnterFrame = function (){
this.onRollOver = function(){
this._x = 50
}}
This just counter-acts the tween to make the symbol jump to the centre of the stage and then stop. but that is the problem... the symbol wont stop. it jumps to 50 for about 0.1 sec then continues with the tween.
PS tweenPart1.stop(); doesn't work for some reason
I'm loading a .png image with loadMovie() and I need to center the image (for later dragging). I know flash has some issues with loading stuff, but I really need to get the movieclip's width. If someone knows how to get over this and get the movieclip's width
This is a part of a more complex app, so that's why I won't paste any code.
I'm just a graphic designer and basically new to flash. But i got this project where background images would loop in full browser resolution. Well i managed to work on the looping images, but i'm having trouble on how i will add objects that will tween from side to center in same full browser resolution.[code]...
View 1 RepliesI would like some help if possible. Ive been working with tween Manager (the laco and robert penner tween proto) and i found simply using the scaleTo function on images which have drop shadows causes distortion. So did some searching and found a resize function which implements the tween manager tween function.
It works well, BUT I would like some help in converting it into a class or prototype , even better build it into tween manager so I can call it like the scaleTo function. I call it frequently for transitions ive created which is why i would like to be able to call it simply

How to resize multiple tween spans at once.
When I first saw that tween spans dynamically adjust keyframe placement I thought that meant that if you need to double the speed of something with a few layers of tweens you could simple shift select them all and resize... apparently that's not the case... I assume there's a key command or something, but I've asked around and spent some time googling to no avail....
When you arrive on the page the navi buttons are not completed/stuck. Out of 70% of the time the same thing happens when you refresh the page/resize the window.
View 1 RepliesSome images I load dynamically are too big so I would like to scale them to fit the stage.

this returns 0. Why does it return 0 when the image loaded is obviously much larger then 0 pixels. How do I change the width and height of imgCont to a specified dimension.
I am trying to resize a line within a movie clip. I am resizing the mc horizontally, but when I do this the height of the line also changes. I can of course resize the line itself, but this can't be used for tweening. How can I resize/tween a 1px high line horizontally without changing the height as well?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a site for all screen resolution. Seems this method don't work when I have a tween navigation. The navigation border stay the same even after I put this coding:

i am building an editor which allows you to resize images and to do this (once an image is selected) I add a visible border to the image that allows you to resize the image. so i want to have a function something like,
[Code]....
and i have to call this redrawborder function inside the MOUSE_MOVE listener that controls the resizing (so that i am constantly removing and redrawing the border). constantly removing and redrawing the frame seems very inefficient. is there some property or better why to do this? i want to have, displayobj.scaleChildren = false or something like that
I am trying to find a way to make a movie clip resize larger on mouse release, then resize back to the original size on a second mouse release. I have tried many ways to do this but seem to be unable to come up with a solution. I have been using mc Tween.

created in flash. The issue i am having is when an image is loaded it always appears on the left handside attached to the top left point of the stage. Is there anyway i can get these images to load in the centre of the stage? This is the AS that is attached to my flash document.
Actionscript Code:
function initGallery() { function loadXML(loaded) { if (loaded) { xmlNode = this.firstChild; total = xmlNode.childNodes.length;

Is it possible to center an swf in the html or php file, when the swf has a width larger than the browsers width?
View 1 RepliesI have am trying to establish the center of the imags that load so that I can put them in the center of the stage. I am doing this as each image is a different size.
Here is the code i have gotten to work before but its not working now and I have been searching to find what I have done wrong with no luck. : ( Would you look it over and maybe you will see what I am doing wrong?
public function placePicture(e:Event = null):void {
rawImage = imageData.image[imgNum].imageURL;
lastImageIndex = imageData.*.length() - 1;
[Code].....
and I tried doing all of the above by inserting the loader into a sprite and then applying the code to the sprite and then adding that sprite to another sprite and putting that at 640 and not inserting it in another sprite and trying to straight up put the existing sprite at 640 (hopefully that all makes sense). And I have tried to put it to width/3 and nothing different happens.
I'm trying to load an image and center it within a movie clip already on the stage.
function loadImage(){ image_mc.loadMovie("fullImage/"+imageNum+".jpg"); image_mc._x= Stage.width/2 - image_mc._width; image_mc._y= Stage.height/2 - image_mc._width;}
I know it's something simple and there are forums dedicated to this topic but I can't seem to view the code examples that the helpers are using.
