What I am after is some code that will load an alternative page if the user doesn't have flash installed - I think its using the onload code in the html of the flash page. "I've figured out how to load an alternative page using "onload" as part of the body tag if no flash player is found" - alas he is not around to post it though.
Searching in Google for ways to gracefully degrade Flash naturally yields many results relating to the lack / disabling of browser support for Flash. In Firefox it seems to work as expected whereby the alternative text kicks in - e.g. "We could not load this content (the file may not exist, or you may need to install Flash)". In Internet Explorer the element (e.g. 500x500px) loads but it is empty/blank instead of displaying alternative text.[code]
I was looking for a code that does a turning page effect and have found one, but am experiencing a problem. The code is giving me a problem when i add more pages to the existing file. I am really hoping that someone can help me out with this as it is really urgent.
I have attached the original file. I need to add a total of 16 pages. Can someone pls see the file and explain to me how this is done. The pages are all generated with the help of action script. I get an error something to do with the 'with statement'. If someone can solve this problem could you please explain where I have to make the changes and what the resulting code would do.
We have a quiet big flex application compiled with flex 3.4 SDK.We also have several modules to load after some requirements (some at startup, some later).Everything is compiled with the same version. At some point i got this exception on my machine and don't know how to fix it.
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class mx.modules::ModuleBase could not be found.
at flash.display::MovieClip/nextFrame() at mx.core::FlexModuleFactory/deferredNextFrame()[code]....
I removed and installed already several flashplayer versions, but always the same error. When we copy the artifacts that are compiled on my machine somewhere and somebody else opens it on his machine it works.
I need to embed a SWF on a website. The swf is this interactive map at [URL](where it says select your region). So I found the SWF file and I tried to embed it on a test page, and its not working correctly. [URL] I don't know anything about flash, but the code I used was this:
Code: <embed src=" [URL] The map is showing up, but the continents regions are not click-able, and the drop down text is not showing the continents.
I have an invisible movie clip I want to go to the NEXT page, as it goes to that page, I want it to essentially remove itself (page1.swf). e.g. page1.swf (contains fancy.swf - [AS2], 4 images, several invisible MCs with code) has an invisible MC + on click = remove page1.swf.
To be clear, this does work. It goes to page2.swf and page2.swf goes to page1.swf as it should. The issue is that if the user repeatedly does this (just 2 or 3 times) the fancy.swf becomes impossible to control and Flash (CS5) crashes. I think this is due to the fact it's not unloading the entire thing, it's only unloading fancy.swf on click (I hope). So underneath page2.swf is page1.swf, and when the user clicks back to page1.swf, page2.swf AND page1.swf are underneath that, and so on and so forth.
how to activate the animation that removes the previous page items before loading new page when you click on a menu button. like this website [URL] When you click on a menu button, current items are removed with nice animation before new items appears.
I'm using loadVars to load a PHP URL with lots of sensitive information required for the Flash application.Only problem is that URL can be accessed via a web browser which raises security issues if someone gets a hold of this URL. Is it possible to have the PHP page only accessible via my Flash application?
I would like someone to tell me if there is a way to load html or php page in flash just like a movieclip without actually navigating from the flash player(by using getURL code). Basically, I am wondering if there is a way to load a html file just like we load movieclips and perform all the functions of html page.
I have a image loaded in a sprite, the image is from a remote location [URL]. Once the image is loaded in the Loader Object i then want to create a reflection of the sprite that contains the image. Now this works when i run the application in flash IDE but when i embed this flash application inside a HTML page the reflection images do not work. Why is this, the code is below.
I have recently uploaded a website (using a temporary page for the first couple of days) but on the Gallery page of my site, the Flash file loads up to 95% and then stops. Link to the page is below:
I am having a little trouble loading images to a slideshow. I have all of my paths correct and all of my images named correctly. I get this error: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found. The code I am using is attached.
Basically I have this code where a swf files is loaded withing another swf which is pretty cool and useful. Now when I use it in a swf file which does not have a actionscript class attached to it, it works like a charm but when I attach a action script class I get the following errors:
1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: Loader. 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method Loader.
I need my action script class attached for other functions to work. Below is my code var Xpos:Number = 0; var Ypos:Number = 50; var swf:MovieClip; var loader:Loader = new Loader(); var defaultSWF:URLRequest = new URLRequest("level select.swf"); loader.load(defaultSWF); [Code] .....
I have a source file (test.fla) in the file i have a symbol called "vrviewer". I am trying to load an HTML page inside the viewer (vrviewer). The html page loads 28.ivp using the supplied ivp player called "pureplayer.swf" (this is called out in HTML (28.html). I would much rather load the ivp file right into flash (if i could) but do not know how to even begin doing that. I tried using the geturl function to call the html file into "vrviewer", but that did not work.
There is an event class called IVPEVENT in cs3 but im not sure if i can load my ivp file using just the class
i have attached a ZIP file with all the files i just mentioned.
so I have created a basic flash navigation menu bar for my website. I have added the bar into a frame on my dreamweaver page. I was just wondering if it was possible to link the buttons on my flash bar to open the pages into a different frame, the main frame below, my navigation bar? The code I have at the moment for my "home" button is the following:
[Code]...
and this is opening the "home" page in a new window. Is it possible to make it open it in my main frame (called mainFrame)? When I change _blank to _self it opens the page in the same frame where the menu bar is, not the mainFrame below it.
I need my swf to be able to see the domain of the page that it's loaded on. Normally to to this I would just look at window.location over ExternalInterface, but in this particular case the swf is going to be embedded with allowscriptaccess="never", so that's not going to work. Is there an actual api that will give me that or do I have to resort to ugly hacks?
I have a html page that has a link, which links to another html page with a flash file on. What I need is when this flash page is accessed I need a new movie to load, which would usually load from the navigation when someone clicks on a button. Is there anyway to link to a page which then loads a new movie into the main movie. can this be done???
Unfortunately the search function on the site doesnt seem to be working. I have a website [URL]. We have created a loading page so that the user enters the site when the site is fully loaded. Unfortunately this doesnt work for those parts of the website that are being loaded externally i.e. through XML files.
An example of this can be seen on the showcase section on the left side of the Home Page.
Can I also mention that there are over 250 images being loaded externally through the XML files as well as a number of text blocks. I as a web developer are completely against this amount of images but the client wants them in so unfortunately they have to stay.
I seem to have an issue with a flash I have written. The person who I made it for is telling me that first time he loads the page with the Flash in it, it loads fine. However, at this point if he navigates to another portion of the site, then goes back to the Flash page, he says it freezes on the loading bar. Consistently everytime, but only on his work computer, not home computer or lap-top. I think it might be a caching issue in IE, but I am kind of stumped, anyone ever experience this?
I have a html paga which loads a flash(flex) swf file. Using https it loads successfully with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, but not with Internet Explorer.Another page, a simple aspx page, does load in Internet Explorer using https (and no flash in it).Haven't found anything so far on the internet to solve this... Anyone?UPDATE: When I right click on the white screen, 'About Adobe Flash Player 10...' appears... so Flash is loaded. Also, in Charles (http sniffer tool) I can see that the swf is loaded over the network.
So, apparently, Flash Player is running inside my html page, the swf is loaded over the internet but the swf is not displayed in internet explorer browser... Very strange. How can I debug this further to see what the problem is?Meanwhile, in the left down corner, IE keeps on saying: 'Waiting for https://....In all other browsers it works like a charm. You can see that IE shows a Certificate Error, but that's also the case in other browsers. I already clicked on Certificate Error to install the Certificate, but with no success.
We have developed a magazine reader which is basically PHP application. Admin panel is built in PHP but when any user wants to read a particular magazine, it is handled by Flash i.e. we are embedding the .swf object with HTML in PHP page. But flash is not supported in iPad/iPhone. So we want to create this application in Xcode so that user can read the magazine in iPhone/iPad also. There is confusion how it can be accomplished.
I would like to have a flash app on a website where:A user can input some values Those values are then sent to a server which has an executable fileThe exe is run with the user's settings and then sends some data back to the userThe data is displayed in the flash app.Is it doable with CGI or is there a better alternative to this?
I've been using PTViewer but it is causing some issues with looking for the ptdefault.html everytime and I'm wondering what other options are out there?
Does anybody know of a tool that will allow me to create ASDoc style documentation with a Flash CS4/AS3 application? From what I hear ASDoc only works with Flex.
I want the content of a local text file to become available inside JavaScript. I've achieved that using HTML 5 FileReader API, but this works only in Mozilla Firefox and Chrome now. I know that it is possible to create a cross-broswer solution using Flash. Is there any open-source project that do that?
I'm currently loading a remote swf through as3 (with a domain policy to allow all from that domain - the policy file can't be changed by myself), that i want to take a snapshot of. The problem is that the main swf that i load, is loading child swf's from another domain that does not have the allow all policy turned on.. This makes the snapshot feature call a "sandbox security" error. I'm wondering if there's an alternative to the bitmapdata draw function to still take a "snapshot" without conflicting the sandbox security.
Ok we all know that you can embed assets with Flex using the [embed] code.
But is there anyway to achieve something similar to this when working with only Flash?
For example:I need to create a class (that contains certain assets) that needs to be used in the Flash IDE, but I don't want to have to drop all the assets into the library for every Flash file that happens to use the class.
I am running into some real problems with importing a png and associating it with a movieclip.Basically I want an image (image1.png) to appear inside a blank movieclip on my stage called "image1". I need this to all run from the library and not from an external folder - thus this does not work for me : loadMovie ("image1. png", "ClickReveal.image1");Is this possible? Or do I absolutely have to run from an external folder or convert the png to a movieclip by hand and then use attachMovie? I am desperately trying to avoid those options. The reason is that I am building a template file here and the users need to be able to import their own images which may be called anything and need to pop into movieclips.
We have a project that has been built in Flash and as3. It is a video player of sorts that we want to fully customize. We have different images and color schemes that we want to be able to change very quickly. Right now we have config constants that we turn on and off for different schemes. And in the code there is a massive amount of different spots where the images and such are changed. When we create a new color scheme or whatever, we need to create a new config. Then we have to go through all of the code and put it in correctly.Basically any suggestions for how we can take the current flash project (maybe flex?) and make it customizable a lot quicker.
