IDE :: Sound Starting And Stopping Across Scenes?

Oct 2, 2007

I've set a music sound to play across three scenes in my movie. However, when the user clicks to enter the fourth scene, I'd like the music to stop. Simple enough.

Here's the problem...the fourth scene contains individual keyframes in the scene where I have separate voice overs for each frame. The user navs forward or backward among the scene's keyframes using arrow buttons for forward and backward. How can I have the voice over stop playing on frame 1 if the user clicks the arrow to go to frame 2 if the frame 1 sound isn't finished playing? Frame 1 plays out until finished, even if the user has clicked to go to frame 2.

Then, on return to the main scene where the general music file played, I'd like it to resume playing upon the user clicking 'return home.'

Incidentally, I set up my sound files to play on a soundtrack timeline.

Make A Movie With Multiple Scenes - Streaming Sound And Scenes Sync

Jul 3, 2009

whenever I set my sound to stream and continue to make a movie with multiple scenes. The audio and video get disgustingly out of sync sometimes even off by 30 seconds. I just started an animation its only 10 seconds long with two scenes and the AV is already off by about 5 seconds. Ive worked around this by avoiding scenes altogether but i really don't want to have another 5000 frame scene. I discovered this problem in Flash MX and Im quite annoyed that it still has't been fixed 3 years later!

Starting And Stopping Video And MP3

Aug 5, 2009

I can't seem to get around my video and audio files starting when I arrive at the page. I'm even using some example code with start and stop buttons. This is in CS4 Flash. I expect it's because the ActionScript is in the wrong place because when I run the movie it flashes through all of the pages on the site without stopping at the home page. Is there some generic code that will allow me to simply swap out the name of the video or audio file I want to start. If there is, do I need to locate it on its own layer at the top of the timeline?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Starting And Stopping An Animation Using Buttons?

Nov 23, 2010

I'm working on an assignment for a Flash Game Programming class (1 of 2) where I have to take a pre-made animation, add start and stop buttons to it, and use AS3 to make those buttons work. I got the buttons on the .fla, but I'm having a heck of a time stopping the animation using the stop button (I haven't even done the start button yet). This course is an independent study so I'm not being "taught" anything by the instructor. I have to find the answers myself. I've asked said instructor, my former AS instructor, and several computer lab monitors for help and we cannot get the animation to work correctly. There are compile errors that come up that really make no sense. This is my last resort in regards to this assignment!

ActionScript 2.0 :: Starting And Stopping Sounds With One Button

Aug 17, 2010

I want to play my songs in my Flash site..

I tried Making the song title as a button, and then I figured out how to make the song play by releasing the mouse button. This works great, however, when I click on the button numerous times, the song starts playing numerous times..

What I would like is to be able to click on my Song_btn once to start the song, and then click again on the Song.btn to stop the song.

or another option is to start the song with the Song_btn, and then some way to just let that song play through.

I have used the "stop all sounds" command when you navigate away from that songs particular page..

IDE :: AS3 Starting/stopping Mc's On Specific Part Of The Timeline

Feb 23, 2009

I need to create a tall background, when the user clicks on a button the background will scroll up and down to the area that the user wants to go to. ( I attach an image of how that might look like)

The background is divided in to 4 sections, the way i figure to do this, is to have each section be a different part of the timeline- and what I need to happen is as the user arrives at one of the sections or in that part of the timeline the mc's on that sections start playing and stoping once he/she leaves.

If there is a better way of doing this as well- feel free of telling me- Im use flash about once a year.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Continuous Slider - Stopping / Starting MovieClip

Jan 20, 2006

I have a nested MC that functions as a continuous slider; when you mouse right of center it slides one way and when you mouse left of center it slides the opposite direction. Right at center it stops. The problem I have is that I'm using this as a menu at the bottom of a .swf and there are other places to mouse on the page, which means that this menu is constantly in motion even when it's not being used. I want it to stop when it isn't being used, only because it's an MC I can't use the onMouseOut command to stop the clip. I tried making a button that targets the clip and stops it when you roll over the button but it doesn't work.

Here's the script I'm currently using:
onClipEvent (mouseMove) {
xcenter = 467.5;
speed = 1/25;
} onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
var distance = _root._xmouse-xcenter;

ActionScript 3.0 :: Three Separate Tweens - Starting / Looping And Stopping Wheel

Feb 4, 2009

I have a wheel that starts, loops, and slows to a stop, using 3 separate tweens, which is functioning pretty well. The issue I'm having is the transition between the startup tween and the looping tween:

Startup tween:
mWheelStartTween = new Tween(mcWheel, "rotation", Regular.easeIn, mcWheel.rotation, mcWheel.rotation+360, 2, true);

Looping tween:
mWheelLoopTween = new Tween(mcWheel, "rotation", None.easeNone, mcWheel.rotation, mcWheel.rotation+360, 1.5, true);

Visually, everything should be based on the duration of the looping tween. I played with the duration of the starting tween to get it close, but there's still a small jump. How can I set a target rotational velocity for the end of the startup tween, so it seamlessly blends in with the looping rotational velocity? Should I not be using a tween for this? I'd like to pass in a duration value to the looping tween to support different speeds....which would affect the startup as well.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Starting And Stopping Multiple Movieclips On Different Keyframes Of Main Movie

Jun 17, 2009

I have multiple movie clips on 4 labeled frames of my movie. The keyframes are as follows : People, Place, Portfolio, Possibilities

The buttons to go to each of these keyframes work, although because I have a movie (different for each keyframe) I cannot get the previous movie's audio to stop when I click to another keyframe.

Also, I cannot get the other movie to work once I am on the next page.

The movieclips are named- Btn2 -which is the movieclip that plays once clicked on the homepage. Btn3- which is the movieclip that is supposed to play once clicked (on the people page).

To see what I'm talking about- visit: [URL]

give it some time to load- then click the doorbell- let the movie play for a little bit then click on people...the door closes, but the sound continues.

Here's the actionscript.

ActionScript Code:
stop();
import flash.events.MouseEvent;

Sound At Beginning Of 2 Scenes And Optimizing

Nov 10, 2009

I have created a X-mas card for my company. When the card opens, the 3 circles are buttons to different scenes within Flash. The text in the bottom left is a button to the final scene.

The card can be viewed here: [URL]

1) When I click on the circle button that has the red garland and tree ornaments in it, if you listen close at the very beginning of the scene, a squeek sound plays. I use this squek sound in the hamster wheel movie symbol used in other scenes, but not in this scene. I don't even have the sound in this scene of the Flash project anywhere. I can not figure out where it is coming from.

2) Does anyone have some optimization tips? My project file is huge and a lot of the people we will be sending this out to probably don't have the most up-to-date processers. Should I split each scene into it's own Flash movie that is only loaded when the button for that scene is selected instead of the whole thing loading?

Here is a link to view the .FLA file: [URL]

Controlling Sound Objects Across Scenes

Nov 14, 2007

I'm doing a project that I have to use scenes in, I have a sound object that i want to be able to control in all scenes. I set up global variables for the sound object and a boolean to check if the sounds currently playing like this :
PHP Code:
_global.sound1= new Sound();
_global.sound1.attachSound("song");
_global.soundplaying = 0;

In each scene I have two buttons a stop and a play button, Heres my code for play:
PHP Code:
if(!_global.soundplaying){
_global.sound1.start();
_global.soundplaying = 1;
}

And stop:
PHP Code:
_global.stewielaugh.stop();
_global.soundplaying = 0;
Doesn't seem to work, if I press play in scene one and go to scene 2 and then return to scene one the sound can be played again on top of the already playing sound object.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Sound Control Over Multiple Scenes?

Apr 29, 2002

I currently have a movie, about 12 scenes long. I have a sound control that loops the track I have the user select repeatedly. But because I wanted music to always play unless they manually turned down the volume in my controls I load the music each time the main scene is loaded... This ends all of the other sounds and just restarts the first track in my list.

Here's the code:

For the main frame, inside a movie clip placed on scene 1:

stop ();
stopAllSounds ();
setProperty ("playing1", _visible, "1");
setProperty ("playing2", _visible, "0");

[Code]....

All I want this to do is keep playing the track the user selected, and not have to reset everytime the main scene is loaded...

Problem: I want to include a Mute button so that you can turn off all sounds, but can't figure out how to do that..As I understand it, stopAllSounds won't work for me, because as soon as someone hits another button, a new sound will play.

Play Sound File Across Multiple Scenes / Movies?

Sound Not Stopping During Testing?

May 23, 2009

I'm using Adobe Flash CS4 on Mac (windows i'm sure i can figure out how to fix it on the mac version)I'm trying to sync some animation to sound, and my sound is all in one big file. I'm wanting to go through frame by frame and tweak it (Yes, it's a frame by frame animation, no tweening here don't ask why, it's just not), anyways, I keep trying to use the "Control -> Play" button to keep playing the sound from the area I'm working on so I don't have to start at the beginning everytime. After I hear the section I want, I want to just push "stop" and everything stop, including the audio. It would stop everything before, but now it's not stopping the audio so it will just keep playing even though I had hit stop.?

Sound Not Stopping When Navigating Away

Jan 27, 2009

I have several swf files which are completed screencasts with voice overs, which I need to integrate into a flash application to distribute on CD to new students.

To play the screencasts in my flash file, I'm navigating to a new frame for each one which has a movie clip on it (instance name myscu3 for example). The myscu3 movieclip has about 20 frames of animation to grey out the screen behind, and then a couple of frames with actionscript on them, which 1) first frame shows a loading screen while the screencast swf is loading via a Loader and then navigates to the 2) second frame where the screencast coords are set and addChild is used to show the screencast via the Loader.

All works fine EXCEPT ... if I navigate away from the parent timeline frame where the myscu3 clip is ... the screencast disappears (as it should, as the myscu3 clip isn't on other frames, but if the screencast hasn't finished playing before I navigate away, the sound keeps playing.

how to stop the sound playing, as the loader is in the child movieclip, and the navigation away from the frame containing it is accomplished by clicking on any of the tabs at the side (on the main timeline). Any ideas? Is there actionscript code which will just stop any current sound playing (without stopping the ability to play sound) which I could add into the tabs navigation code?

ActionScript 3.0 :: JPGs Overlayed Over Sound Layer In Series Of Scenes

Oct 27, 2010

I am trying to build a very simple Flash app in CS4. All I want to do is have JPGs overlayed over a sound layer in a series of scenes. I want a basic intro scene that ends w/ a table of contents from where you can click to view any scene. At the end of each scene is a frame where the user can replay the current scene, return to the TOC frame in scene 1 or proced to the next scene. I am having two SERIOUS problems.

1. For some reason my movie is NOT stopping at the "stop ();" action at the end of scene one. the action is on its own keyframe in the timeline, but when I "test movie" it just plays right past that to scene 2.
2. I obviously need multiple buttons on a scene to do different things on click. Does it really have to be as complicated as it seems to have multiple buttons all do different things on click? I keep getting told I have duplicate actions when I have two buttons on a page that do different things on click. I have named each button instance a unique name and written the gotoandplay click event using those unique instance names.
