I've created a flash form using components from flash 8 and can capture the values(variable name) from following components: listbox, radio buttons, textbox and textarea, dropdown list but.... I am unable to capture the value of my checkboxes.
View 2 RepliesI receive my parameters as 1's or 0's to fill a datagrid full of checkboxes. The funny bit here is that the checkbox control recognizes them as booleans! But then my checkbox control has a change property in which these numbers are converted to "true" or "false".How can I convert this changes to ones and zeroes again to send them back to database?I believed the ByteArray function "writeAsBoolean" would work, but I forgot the rest of the values inside the datagrid are kept as numbers. So that function will not recognize them and my webservice will ignore them, failing to write the data.

However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It should display 'Yes' if the checkbox is selected, and 'No' if the checkbox is unselected.Here is the PHP:

However, I need to load a different content using the same flash gallery based in which html page the swf(gallery) is embedded. I can generate new XML through PHP if swf will send a variable to PHP which can be read as unique. I need to create a mechanism where the embedded swf send this unique variable.

I have got a component within my flash form. I have a button that sends information to PHP (this is working). What I need is checking whether the check box is selected or not, so that if it is my button will go to one place, and if not then it will go to another (which I know will be done with an 'if' statement).

I am trying to take a PHP variable and pass it along to Flash via Flash vars. View 1 RepliesI am encountering a bizarre Flex 3.4 issue. I have a class that acts a dataprovider to my entire application named "DataProvider.as":

In an mxml form, "Settings.mxml" I have a checkbox control which is bound to the email_enable variable of my dataprovider class:

All is well as far as getting the value, if I set the variable in my dataprovider to either true or false, the checkbox reflects this change; however, if I click on the checkbox and change it's value, the dataprovider variable never reflects the change.
I had to convert an AS2 clicktag script to AS3. It complies and works locally, but I was told I need to use the FlashVars to embed/place a variable (a URL) in the swf before it even starts.This is something I haven't experimented with (yet)I've seen examples and I kind of understand it, but I was hoping on some clarification

I'm passing a number in my HTML through FlashVars to a swf, I load an external swf into that parent swf which needs the variable that I passed.
I can use the variable passed in the parent, but I just can't understand how to attain that value in the child swf.
I've been looking into dispatch event but it seems way overkill. Haven't seen any examples dealing with something so simple.

I'm trying to make a small email capture form, but I'm having trouble getting Flash to pass the email address to the server. I've since given up trying to use getURL and I'm simply trying to trace the variable instead. The form consists of a text box w/ instance name "email_txt" and a button w/ instance name "btnSignUp." the actionscript is placed on the button.

I am using datagrid and added 3 columns to it in flex project. Data is provided to each column by using itemrenderer. Itemrenderer is checkbox for each column. Name of columns are col1,col2,col3. I want to make the checkbox in col1 selected when i selects the checkbox in col2. But i am not able to do this.

View 1 RepliesHow do I capture events of an obj behind another?I have a button(btn1) which I am applying a tween to. This tween is responsible for fading the btn out using the alpha prop (to 0). Behind that btn is another (btn2). I am having trouble leaving btn1 in place (same x and y) and being able to press on btn2. I have removed the eventHandler for btn1 but it's still blocking the other button. Other than creating another var and checking in the tween on complete handler is there any way to leave btn1 in place but be able to click through it??
