IDE :: Create A Photo Thumbnail Slider From An Array?
May 6, 2005
I use this code to try to create a photo thumbnail slider from an array loaded with the images names. The problem is that I can create one thumbnail with my code as shown, but I get in trouble when I try to make thumbnails of more than one image from the array. How should I work around this?
I want the thumbnails to create a nice row, that I can use in a "infinite image slider"...
Code:
//image array
//the array that holds the images names
imgArray = _root.getCurrentArray();
//the path to the images folder
I have made a image-viewer. I've this AS for the viewer:
Code: import mx.transitions.Tween; import mx.transitions.easing.*; function loadXML(loaded) {[code].....
Now i would like to make a loop for the thumbnails so they don't have a beginning or end(Now when i scroll to the right the thumbnails stop at the last thumbnail, i want it to begin at the first thumb again).I'm also trying to make that the middle thumbnail represents the photo in target_mc.
point me in the right direction for creating a thumbnail slider which repeats itself when it reaches the end, rather than just reaching the end and stopping? For example: http:[url]....I take it you would just duplicate the entire thumb container when it got close to the end? Would this not buckle up the function which is sliding the container as this is probably base on the containers width? Or would you treat each thumbnail as a seperate element and move them individually?
Im using xml photo gallery with thumbnail and right now when i hover th mouse on the left the thumbnail move to the left and same when i hover to the right.instead of moving my cursor left and right I want to put button on both side and if someone click left button, that time the thumbnail will only move.
I've been watching a tutorial on making a thumbnail photo gallery with Flash. Unfortunately the only tutorial I could find that explained everything step by step was for Flash MX and I'm using Flash CS4. It seems that the scripting code is different. I've never written Flash script before. I am trying at this point to give a rollover effect to a thumbnail image, so when the mouse goes over the thumbnail the thumbnail will get brighter. The code given in the tutorial didn't work, but by looking at the debugger messages it seems like the script should be something like:[code]I converted the thumbnail to a button symbol and then created an instance of the button called thumb1. The code is applied to a keyframe.
I'm developing an XML thumbnail photo gallery and haveeverything working out correctly except for the grouping of mythumbnails on the stage. I can only display 9 thumbnail images at atime, and if I have more than 9 in my XML data file I have aproblem. What would be the best way to group my thumbnails in setsof 9? How can I set a limit to the display of these thumbnails ifsay, I have 20 thumbnail images? I was thinking of grouping theinformation into arrays, but is this the only feasible way to go
[URL] how to make a Flash Thumbnail Photo Gallery. I am designing a bigger photo gellery based on this code how do I have the photo gallery to list 2 rows of thumbs 5 accross and 2 rows. This code is the code that designs the thumbnail movie clip.
I learned from great kirupa tutorial and implemented the thumbnail gallery in my site.If I open the site in browser Opera or Firefox (FP 8.0.0.447) i see only 1 thumbnail image - is it bug in Player? In IE 6 I have FP 7.0.19.0 and I can see all thumbnails in the navigation bar - also correct.
I've been going through a lot of tutorials online regarding photo galleries etc., and not many seem to facilitate shrinking the actual photo for use as a thumbnail (possibly due to the performance limitations). My project won't have that problem, as it will be stored on an internal network. basically, I want to dynamically load a picture and shrink it for use as a thumbnail in a gallery.
I'm trying to get two thumbnail movieclips on the same page to display two different arrays of pictures. It's not working though and I'm not sure why, could someone please look at my xml and ActionScript and see what I'm doingwrong. I've been at this for a few hours now and I can't see whats wrong.
I am pretty new to AS3. Basically I have a photo gallery that runs in a container, which is added to the stage like so: import com.xmlphotoalbum.*; var gallery:XmlPhotoAlbum = new XmlPhotoAlbum(); gallery_container.addChild(gallery);
I want to have it set up so when you click on a "gallery" button, it reloads/refreshes the gallery to its initial state, because the "internal" navigation of the gallery isn't very intuitive...and so the only thing I can think of is essentially to remove the gallery and re-add it, so that whenever "gallery" button is clicked, it resets the gallery to its initial thumbnail view. I've tried fumbling around with removeChild, addChild, if statements, and I'm pretty lost.
I was working with the XML Photo Gallery Thumbnail Tutorial my code i a little bit different, modified for easing thumbnails.How do I make this work for thumbs with different width??[code]
Based on the Photo Gallery using XML and Flash tutorial found here:Im having trouble with loading thumbnail images of various sizes which overlap if they are smaller than the previous image.The specific line that causes this is target_mc._x = hit_left._x+(target_mc._width+5)*k;Ive tried all sorts of things with the closest being the following which put the images in the right size, but with the omission of k their order is backwardstarget_mc._x = (thumbnail_mc._width+5);Here is the full function block as per the tutorial
I would like to create a simple photo gallery in as3. I would like the user to be able to click on the image thumbnail and see an enlarged version come up next to it. The only galleries I see for flash are XML galleries and it was really complicated the last time I tried it.
I have a page that I'm trying to build that has a scrolling image bar at the bottom but I want to also show the full size image in flash above the images that come up in the thumbnail array when you mouse over each image in the array. I found some code that makes the thumbnail array work but I have no idea how to display the second larger image on mouse over because its loading the images externally... what can I do? Feel free to email me back.
I am using Flash CS4. I insert and build a SWF file just fine. In the component inspector there is a preview entry but there is a note that says it is only for development not runtime. It says to use ActionScript and the Export option. I have used the Export Option to create the thumbnail image but I have no idea how to setup the ActionScript.
im currently trying to use this script to create a little thumbnail gallery: [URL]first off my main flash file has 2 movie clips in, an empty on which an image will be loaded into and one with a navigation menu on.now within the navigation there is a button which will load an external swf into that same movie clip. This loaded swf contains the "Complex Button" my problem is that i dont know how to (or if it is possible) to use these buttons to load a jpg into the empty movie clip on the main timeline im guessing it has something to do with:
I was wondering if anyone knew or could point me in the direction of a tutorial that will allow me to achieve this slider effect - but without using xml The effect is exactly what I need but on the particular network I need to upload to it doesn't seem to be able to load the images, I have tested it on other sites so know it is not a error.s there a way to achieve the same effect with the images already embeded in flash?
This thumbnail loader has been the bane of my existence for the past several days. I finally have the images loading in correctly from the XML through an Array.
However, I can NOT for the life of me get them to load with equal distance from one another that corresponds with the varying image widths. I have set up a contentLoaderInfo in order to trace the widths of the images, but can't figure out how to associate them with their respective images in the array to appropriately define the x location.
ActionScript Code: //XML Load in XML var XMLURLLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); XMLURLLoader.load(new URLRequest ("ggcelebrity.xml"));
i have two Sprite.one sprite have background image and another has some drawing.Now i want to earse some part of drawing by eraser and want to store those point in server where eraser used.because i want use it again to show where user rubbed.
I have an animation of someone dancing, frame by frame over several frames, if I slide the timeline back and forth I can change the rhythm and speed he dances and make him dance in time to whatever is playing on the radio! I would like to make this sliding timeline an interactive element, so I want the viewer to be able to slide the position of the timeline for the dancing frames so they can make up there own routines, so they are essentially sliding through the different frames back and forth how they choose, can you point me in the direction of a tutorial for this type of thing or is this something you have done before? I guess what I am trying to achieve is similar to a rewind/fast forward slider?
Direct me to a volume slider tutorial that works for actionscript 3.0? there are some out there but they are all outdated.
I did one that enables me to mouse over an item and move it all over the screen, but I need to get it to scroll along an axis. thats where Im getting hung up.
I actually have a really cool project. an online studio that enables you to rehearse individual parts of songs that I prerecord.
I'm trying to create a slider/scroll bar similar to the one at this site: kurtnoble.com. If you'll notice, the scroll bar can "bounce" of its perimeters. I'm not very experienced with actionscript at all. so any guidance, help, etc.
I am trying to create a slider bar that also has arrows. Basically the same thing youd see on the right border of most browsers or document editors.
Everything works fine except for the following: as soon as I use the "dragger", the up/down arrows break.I've poured over this code for several hours and just cant see why. I have a distinct feeling its something to do with the nested onEnterFrame in dragger.onPress.... this.startDrag().
Anyway, here's the code:
/// -------------------------------------------------------- var ratio = 0 var spd = 7; var scroll = 0;
