I have file in CS3 which is working with classes. The problem is that I have to save it to lower version. I go to 'Save As' and choose Flash 8 document, but if i try to run the file it is not working. How can I save my CS3 + AS 3.0 file to Flash 8?

Technique 1? Set "Save As Filetype" to SWF by default.
Technique 2? Click "Publish as Flash". User specifies the filename. File is saved on the server. User presented with prompt to download file. File is downloaded from the server using the traditional browser windows explorer dialog box (the same dialog box if I downloaded a program from cnet's downloads.com)

also, some times and only for some files when I save the cs4 file as uncompressed cs5 and then save that uncompressed cs5 to normal cs5 the conversion works and some times not.
ofcourse any of the cs5 files cannot be saved as cs3 or cs2 for no reasons..

I have a swf page that I would like to convert to a png file. Before I convert the file, I would like to zoom in to the swf file so that I have a larger image. I try swftools to convert, but the png image quality is not good enough: Zoomed-in png image looks too blurry.
I should do to capture/use a zoomed-in version of a swf file. A linux compatible command line tool would be great as I am thinking of converting hundreds of images.

how to create save files for flash games. So far, so good. But here's the problem: To improve game loading performance, I was thinking of loading external flash files. Instead of building everything inside the same .fla file, I have one main .fla file, and one or two other .fla files loaded when needed.
The flash I want to load happens to be this mini computer used for puzzle solving and can unlock new applications. And this is my problem: I want to create a save file for the game -and- for this mini computer, which is an external flash file, so it keeps track on many apps have been unlocked. Save the progress from both the main game and the mini-computer. Is it possible? Or is it better to make everything inside the same .fla instead of multiple .flas?

I just started doing AS3 for Flash and I'm trying to create a flash app that has 2 things inside. An InputTextBox which is called txt_userinput and a Button called btn_submit.Bascially, the user just need to type in some word in the InputTextBox and press btn_submit. The data will then be sent to a testing.TXT in my DESKTOP. My .FLA file is in MY DOCUMENTS while the testing.TXT is in my DESKTOP.
Question 1: Question is, how do I make the data from txt_userinput to be sent to the .TXT in my DESKTOP?For example, the user typed "Hello, how are you?" in the InputTextBox. In the .TXT file, I want it to show "Hello, how are you?".
PS: testing.TXT file is already created in the desktop, just waiting for flash to write the data in and keeps on adding more data in the future in the following format.

We recently upgraded to Windows 7 64Bit from Windows XP here at work, and since the upgrade i've discovered a very scary issue with Flash.When going to save one of my large projects, often Adobe simply crashes outright, freezing up and displaying a standard error message."Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. View 27 RepliesThe code below compiles fine on the Flex 4 SDK on Fedora 15. Mouse-click opens the dialog box, I click okay, and a file is saved, but the file is empty. I run the same SWF file (that was compiled on the Linux machine) on a Windows machine, and the created file contains the expected data. I was thinking there was a permissions problem, but if that were so, why should Linux even let me save the file? It is going to slow things down immensely if I cannot code something and test it on the same machine...

I'm using Filereference.save() to save a XML file. It's working fine with default filename.But is there a way to force a file extension on the saved file? I'm using "untitled.xml" as the default filename, but if the user changes it to say "myfile", it gets saved as "myfile", rather than "myfile.xml".
