i'm using adobe flash cs4 to make my web site template, and also i'm using an xml file to add the menu and the item, it works ok...
but when i'm trying to write an arabic text in the xml file, the specific item don't display
I need to write arabic numbers using TLF in Flash CS5 but it would not work!? I do not know why?
View 1 RepliesI tried to write arabic text and it work just fine but the numbers still showing as english numbres, I tried to embed the fonts and use Locale as hindi but it is still not working, while I see in the adobe max 2009 that they shows the arabic numbers but they did not explain the options for that.
View 1 RepliesTo make it short. Macromedia Flash doesnt support Farsi and Arabic language BUT you still can use Farsi & Aarabic in flash. All you need is another program that called "Parspad" that will some how make Farsi & Arabic words appear in flash. To get the program go to this address [URL]. And you will find one of the best Farsi and Arabic editor with almost Hundred beautiful Fonts.
Steps in how to use the program with flash:
1- Open the program "Parspad" then type in Farsi / Arabic whatever you want
2- Go to "Parspad" menu >edit> or Highlight the text and right click copy.
3- Then go to flash and past
4- Select the text you just pasted and change its font to exact font you used in "Parspad"fonts that comes with it.. you have to scroll throw fonts till you find it. It should be about 100 different fonts that works with Parspad, but you have to choose the exact one you used in "ParsPad".

I built a quiz for teachers to use so all they would have to do is edit a text file and then flash would read the file and generate the quiz based off it. The problem i have is that a few of the teachers are having problems editing the text file in the correct way. I wrote this flash movie to save the variables to a text file. I read somewhere that fscommand - save dosent work anymore. Is there some other way to have it write a text file to the local machine? The swf would be saved on their machines.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish I am able to retrieve these variables from the txt file that is stored with the SWF file and display them, I am unable to allow the user to change a line "item" and then have them save it amending the TXT file.
So the goal is to have this list on multiple office computers so that you can go in add an item to the list it then updated the TXT file so the next user can open up the flash file see the list and even add or remove an item.
The TXT file is going to be stored on a private drop box folder that is available on all computers concerned. ( If it's going to be easier than putting it server side )
In Flex Mobile Project, Text Input shows blocks instead of showing arabic text. Labels are working fine with Arabic.

Since, it is for flex mobile project, when I input any text in arabic, it shows separate characters. Arabic is a language that doesn't have separate characters. It should combine letters to form specific word.

View 2 RepliesI need to create curved Arabic text which can be change at runtime by input from Text Field. Currently I am using Text2Curve AS3 component. It works fine with Latin symbols, but I have several problems with it when it come to Arabic text: First problem is that Arabic letters comes in four different forms: end, middle, beginning and isolated. But Text2Curve AS3 component shows them the same.Second problem is that Arabic text shouldn't have any gaps between letters. But in component you can only set one letter spacing for all symbols. So some of the symbols overlap, while other have gaps between them.Third problem is that Arabic text is written from right to left, but Text2Curve AS3 component only supports left to right. (I solved it partially by reversing input string)If someone have had similar problem, or know better component/library (paid or free), or can event create one please let me know. Also I am working with Adobe Flash Professional CS 5.5 and I don't speak Arabic. So it is quite hard for me to check if Arabic text is good or not.
