View 1 RepliesI want to fade a series of pictures one after the other, such that they'll loop around. I'm calling this a cascade. So to do this, i've placed all of the image names into an array and I set all of their alpha properties to 100 to begin with. I think I then need a for loop that will iterate through the images, fading the image down to 0, waiting for a set period of time and then moving on.
Unfortunately, mcTween will fade all of the images at once in the for loop, so I need to prevent a tween from starting until the one before it has finished. I thought I could achieve this using a while loop and the isTweening property, but when I try and preview the flash movie it just gets into a recurring loop and the program hangs, and has to be exited.

I'm loading an XML file with a series of pictures. The pictures cycle through on a timer of about 3 seconds. The pictures load with an alpha of 0 and there is a tween to fade them in. The problem I'm having is trying to tween them back out to a value of 0. (My function fadeOut never fires (no trace))

View 3 RepliesI am loading these 5 images into a sequence of boxes. Everything works fine except Images are not coming in sequence. They are coming in random order. for Eg.: Box1 contains 3.png, Box2 contains 1.png..so on..[code]
View 7 RepliesI'm shwoing a step by step process on how I did a photoshop piece, and I want to have a simple flash swf that goes through each of the screenshots at the viewer's pace, by them clicking. I wasn't even thinking so complicated as to include forward/back buttons, even just somethign so simple as having the entire image clickable to move 'forward' and when it gets to the end it just loops or something. super simple, i would do an animaged gif but i want it to be at the user's own pace. but if you think of how an animated gif cycles that's how simple i want it to be. also a few of fading/dissolivng between the images would be cool.

I have one large box in the centre of the screen where my slideshow will be happening and want smaller boxes down the bottom which will allow me to select pictures to go straight to when veiwing the slideshow.All pictures are named image1.jpg, image2.jpg and so on.
I want to draw my own face. I want to do so by uploading a picture on Flash and import on stage and modify it so that I can use it as a template to draw over. How do you do this? I know you go to import >import to stage but each time i try draw over the uploaded pic, it doesn't draw on the pic.

View 2 RepliesI'm building a Flash site that features a three-dimensional interface and I'm facing a significant file size problem, which will mean serious bandwidth problems when the site is online. I don't particularly want to go the route of actually bringing a 3D object into Flash, mainly because my object features transparency (it's made from glass) and papervision3d confuses me to no end. So I have two options: import as video or import as image sequence.
So I went with the image sequence idea. It was easy for me to give the viewer the ability to scrub back and forth through the looped animation and click on certain things at certain times (using invisible buttons). This gives the appearance the viewer is in a three-dimensional word, albeit on a fixed path backwards and forwards, much like a roller coaster
There's also an array of buttons down the bottom of the website that you can click on, and it will play through the image sequence (either in forward or reverse). So that works great, but even with high compression of jpegs and a low 12 fps, the swf file will be somewhere between 10 and 30mb, which is quite ridiculous!
Possible solutions include reducing the amount of images I use in the sequence, squishing it down to half the amount of images. Reducing the size of the images down to something smaller, like 800 x 600. But do you think I would get better results if I can import this as a movie instead and try to control the movie? Can I have the same control if it's an actual video file and not an image sequence?
I'd like to import dozens of images and have them in sequence in a single layer. I did this once before, I made a .swf out of a video game cutscene and I recall importing the images to the stage then I asked somewhere else how to make them appear in the layers field. Then I did something that put each image in its own layer and I had to manually move them and make them appear in sequence.
So if anybody knows how to import and put in a single layer in sequence or simply import each image into its own layer
I am wondering if anyone knows of any extensions (or other methods) that give instance names to multiple movie clips at once. I have the same movie clip on hundreds of keyframes and I have to convert them to graphic symbols to animate, then back to movie clips for scripting, but they lose their instance names.

There are no button controls, just several layers, each with a movie clip in the first frame. I want to go down the list and play one after the other and then eventually end on the last clip without looping back to the first.

And I create a main.swf to load those 3 movies orderly (from a to c).In the main.swf:- At frame 1, I put the script: loadMovie("a.swf","_root")- At frame 2, I did the similar job as with frame 1 with b.swf.Now the Flash Player only load the b.swf movie. There is no sign of a.swf to be loaded. Tho' I did unloadMovie a.swf before load this new one.

I have researched flash vars and the like and didnt really get far.[code]I was able to get the URL into Flash!So flash now has a variable called "section" that holds a string like this.url...My question is; how do i get the values held in each of these days, weeks, years, etc into a format that can be used with in the flash movie. View 1 RepliesI'm making a movie w/ no interactivity and I want to put a series of movie clips on the main time line, each to play after the previous movie clip is done. The only way I can make it work is to put the movie clips in keyframes and then allow all all the frames for the movie to play. My movie is way too long and I know there has to be a better way! I'm trying to figure out the action to assign to the keyframe that will play the movie clip within that one frame and when it's done, go on to the next movie clip.

The problem I have is that when you click and drag the scroller it will move the images once but after that the images will not move. I am guessing that the problem is with my code. I want to move the _x of the images movie clip based on the _x of the slider. Here is the code I am using which is placed in frame one of the "timelineSlider" MC:

I`m using flash cs3 for my works , but i have one problem!when i use File=> Import=> Import to Library... or Import to Stage...the flash environment becomes terminated.I changed my flash version to CS4 and I have this problem again.

Now I'm trying to put it in flash but when I import it, there doesn't seem to be a way for each png to occupy each key frame. Do I have to manually insert and align each png? View 2 RepliesIs there any way to use the "Export Movie" as "PNG Sequence" to work for movies where objects are animated with actionscript. Exporting like this works just dandy for normal animations, but it doesn't work for my current project. Basically I am creating images using mathematics and I want to be able to export the result as a png for use in other programs like photoshop; but since the images are created with actionscript the export just shows a blank image. Am I reduced to just taking a screenshot of the result and tediously removing all the should-be-transparent regions with the wand tool?

View 3 RepliesI'm expecting a bunch of different animations that were made in Flash CS3 as JPEG sequences, however, many of the animations contain seperate timelines that contain seperate movie clips. When I view it as an SWF, everything looks PERFECT, all the movie clips within the animation are moving like they should and it looks awesome. But when I export it as a JPEG sequence, the parts of the timeline that are seperate movie clips and in their own timelines are completely static and don't move.What settings do I need to have set so that, when I export it, the JPEG sequence looks and behaves just like the SWF?

(Instead of manually importing a file from within the flash application) Or some way to load an audio file located at a remote url, that is not preloaded, and play it.I've searched through the action script reference guide, but have found nothing to do the job.
