Jul 21, 2009works perfect on my macbook pro (safari, firefox, and opera) but when I view the site on Vmare Fusion Windows XP and use IE and FireFox the pages don't load... I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.

Feb 17, 2010I am using ColorBox over a Flash file which works just fine in all browsers on all platforms except for an annoying behaviour in Firefox on Vista. On calling ColorBox it pops up and displays the loading graphic fine, but once the content has loaded the ColorBox window resizes and then stalls for up to 10 seconds before showing the content, see screen grab. It shows the ColorBox window in a state before and after it has been resized at the same time for up to 10 seconds and then displays the content.
However, I did notice when trying to screen grab this behaviour that hitting Print Screen seemed to force the content to show. I could not get ColorBox to remain in this state after hitting the Print Screen button on my keyboard.

Jquery :: Firefox Restarts Flash Movie If Enclosing DIV Class Changes?
Jun 25, 2011I have a flash movie (simple video player) that is nested within a DIV, which is itself nested in a jQueryUI-Draggable DIV. Thus flash-object < div < div.ui-draggable
Now when I dynamically add/remove a class to the draggable DIV (in this case minimized which gives it a smaller size), Firefox (both 3.6 and 4 Win & Mac) will always restart the flash movie, which also restarts the video playing in that movie.
Webkit, Opera and even IE (Trident) don't give me that issue.
To clarify: I embed the flash object with the jQuery SWFObject plugin, wmode is opaque, and all the CSS declarations use absolute pixel dimensions, no % or ems involved.

Aug 9, 2009I've having an annoying browser issue and wondering if anyone can shed some light. I'm working on an flv player that displays 3 different kinds of 'mid-roll' ads: text, image or video. I got the text and video working (still needs some tweaks but essentially it's working) and thought the image ads were working as well but when I tried testing on my server it's working in fine in IE but in firefox the image doesn't load and seems isn't even called.Here's the code to load the image:

Flash :: Reinitializes (reloads) When It's Container Is Resized (via Javascript - JQuery) In FireFox
Feb 2, 2010I have a flash within a holder div (flash container). I use swfobject to insert the flash object (if it makes any difference). I want to resize that holder div to make it smaller in width, when I achieve the "second level" in my "flash application". (with jQuery .animate() function). What "flash application" mean: I have a human body on wich I can click in different body areas. That is the first action - and the effect is to zoom onto that specific area of the body.
Then I can click again on a more specific zone into that area - and the effect consists in fetching some stuff via ajax. (it's some medical stuff, diseases etc.) - that's the "second level" in my "flash application". Then I can click on that stuff fetched via ajax - that's when I resize the flash holder. The problem is that, because of this resizing, my flash reloads and comes back to it's original state, without that zoom level. This reload appears in the "second level", and not when I click on the stuff fetched via ajax and the flash holder resizes. But that's the cause of the reload, because without this resizing, it's all ok. The problem is just in Firefox, I tested it in IE6,7,8, Opera 10, Safari latest and Chrome and there's nothing wrong there, the flash does not realod. Flash :: Jquery Reloading On First Click To Any Link (default Prevented) Only In Firefox?
Nov 12, 2010I'd been following several answers to similar problems with no luck at all, so i decided to try asking by myself:I have a page with several links that have to load data via Ajax using jquery and put the response inside a div. The main "tab" is a flash wich is inside a layer.Every time a user clicks on any of those links, flash container is resized to 0px and set visibility to hidden (trying to prevent the reload behaviour if display is set to none).
All works just fine EXCEPT the first time you click on any link that hides flash layer. In that particular case (only in Firefox) it resets the flash to initial state. I'm going nuts about this..

Nov 3, 2006I have my swf (embedded in a JSP page) deployed in Sun Application Server. My swf contains a Loader component which loads image through accessing the url of my servlet. This servlet of mine returns an image. Now, when i try it inside our network, it works both for IE and FireFox. But when i try it on an external network, the Loader loads the image for IE but it doesn't for FireFox. I'm doubting it is an acess problem since it works in IE.

Dec 17, 2007I have a swf that loads external images from an xml feed (using moviecliploader) and then rotates through these images every n seconds. This works fine in ie and it loads the images and scrolls through them. However in Firefox sometimes it loads the image and sometimes it doesn't! its like a lucky dip haha Is there any link that you know of to any information on this bug/issue with firefox that might help me resolve this? Found something that might be causing the problem, if Firefox cannot find the image within a certain time it just gives up... is this true?

I just wanted to reach out to the community to maybe see how feasible this really is considering the particular transitions and effects this website hasThe gallery I guess can be recreated by carousel plugin, but there are so many out there so maybe could suggest a stable one that would be be best suited to this job. The site is self-contained (no scrolbars) and I want the frame work of the gallery to draw itself in as the page loads. The frame work is just simple lines and drawing objects on the maintimeline. Do i combine the lines (the "frame work") into a mc and then somehow use the deco tool? How can I acheive this in action script?

Jquery :: Ajax - White Screen Of Death Jquery Load() Html File With Swf?
Apr 19, 2011I've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present.It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?
