Now, I know that it is supported on the MacBooks, because this guy posted a video of it:[URL] Is there something I need to do different to make that first bit of code to work properly on OSX? A driver to install or something? Can anyone who has got this up and running let me know what I'm doing wrong? EDIT: Currently on Mac, Multitouch only works inside the AIR runtime, and in addition, the low level touch events are not available. GestureEvents are available, so now my problem is more complicated: I can do Multitouch.supportsGestureEvents which returns true... and I can list out which gesture events I can listen to, ROTATE, PAN, etc. but nothing happens. I can't get any of the events to trigger.

Jan 31, 2012The title pretty much describes it all.. According to the information of the Acer T231H Monitor, it should be able to detect simple gestures. When tracing Multitouch.supportsGestureEvents it returns false. Same goes for supportsTouchEvents. Is this because Windows wants to use the monitor as a mouse? Google doesn't turn up any useful information about this problem. Note, I have installed the monitor driver from the Acer website.

Flash - Transform Tool Architecture?
Jan 27, 2012I'm trying to get familiar with design patterns, modularity, unit testing and etc... (with ActionScript). I'm developing a simple "Free transform tool" right now, just as a exercise, but I don't like the solutions that I come up with so far, so I'll try to walk you trough my line of thoughts. When I come up with the idea I was thinking "What to write so I can test this great Unit testing framework FlexUnit", the first thing that I saw was guess what.. a free transform tool. :) When I was thinking about the architecture of the tool I run every scenario trough "How can I write unit tests for that thing?", so I come up with some kind of twisted MVC meta pattern:
A view that's holding all components (rotation area, drag area, resize buttons)A model (or something like that) that holds the necessary logic (setSize, setPositiom, rotateAroundCenter, etc..).And a controller that add listeners to the view components, update the mouse cursor when its over a component, get the mouse coordinates when is interacted with a component, do the calculations and call methods from the model that will update the view and the object that is benign transformed.
I was thinking: "Ok its flexible, i can switch M, V or C at any time, I achieved my main goal, because I can make lots of unit test for the model, where the important calculations are, so its great..".I just have started implementing it, but I think most of those thoughts are wrong. Yes I can change the view and add new skin but it's not flexible at all, if I want to add "skew" (or any other) functionality I should rewrite (or If I'm lucky just extend) M, V and C.Yes I can make bunch unit test for the model but controller's calculations will be hard to test.
So now I'm thinking for something like the Decorator pattern that will allow me to create whatever combination of controls i want to use and keep their logic separated, but I want to have the option to re-skin the controls themselves and to keep the logic separated so I can do the tests.I realize I want to create some kind of "ultimate transform tool", but I'm really trying to push my limits and learn something.
Flash :: Getting 'Not Supported On This Architecture' Error Message
May 29, 2009I'm having a problem with Flash and InDesign (both CS4), installed as a bundle in one go from Adobe Master Collection discs, When trying to launch InDesign or Flash, I get a message that they are 'not supported on this architecture'.
I'm on a MacPro with 2x3GHz Quad Core and 4GB running 10.5.7.
All the other CS4 Master Collection apps have installed and run fine.
My volume is formated as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Dec 23, 2010I have been asked to design an LCD wall application for a display like the one in this ad. Requirements are that the wall can display full screen video or partition the wall in different sections to display multiple video or images and video. I would like to understand what platform can be used to drive such beasts (what OS? what video card?). I wonder what software platform can drive multimedia on such a scale. Html5 + JavaScript would be OK on a single monitor, but on that scale would it slow down? Flash also is an interesting platform, as it is Air, but, once again, can it scale like that?
I am also considering the server architecture that is needed to drive a set of walls in the same location and the slideshow designer to create storyboards, but this is dependent on what client architecture will be embraced.

Aug 15, 2011interested (or proficient) in multitouch technology with AS3I'm currently doing a multitouch project (ya!), in which touch point and gesture detection is required, using the beta multitouch API in flash, the program does compile but there're some deadly issues about it:
1. The program(in swf form or windows projector form) lag frequently (about 1-3 times in 10sec) when I'm doing gestures, but it runs withno lagging when I open it by dragging the swf file to IE(and other browsers too), wield. (I'm using win7)2. Swipe gesture is not supported, which makes me really isappointed,by the way, touchEvents and gestureEvents can not be used at the sametime, but I've ever seen some smooth flash programs which apparently allowtouch and gestures, how do they do that?Well, the program is very simple but laggy(except swf in IE, of course), so I don't think the main problem for lagging is my code, I wonder if it's just me or it's the problem of the beta API or Flash player, but it's still not comprehensible

I am trying to use the ENTER_FRAME to update the coordinate of my mouse when the mouse click is down but when I extend to touch, the enter frame doesn't seems to work, because my mouse is no more on that stage, the enter frame cannot locate the movement of my mouse on the SimTouch neither on CCV. What other method I should use so that I can check the coordinate of my mouse or finger movement on the flash platform?
Flash :: Camera Resolution Very Low While Running Under Linux?
Jun 14, 2010I've met a problem while trying to stream with my camera. Whatever i try, by switching the camera (3 different UVC-cameras) or which Linux-OS (CentOs, Fedora Core) or testing at different Flash-Sites (incl. one of my own) - i always get a resolution of 160 x 120. Other applications manage up to 800 x 600.
Is this a known Bug/Feature? I've searched the Internet and found many people with the exact problem, but with no solution. What should i do? The tool flashcam didn't work either.
Professional :: Linux Flash Videos Do Not Execute
Jun 23, 2011Using 10,3,162,29 on linux amd64, flash works perfectly on all sites apart from www.telegraph.co.uk whose videos are hosted by url... ooyala emailed me that they do not support linux. I believe flash would work if the telegraph were told how to script their html to execute flash. the flash video appears to load but then fails to execute. No error messages are displayed and no errors can be found on log files.I have seen several criticisms on the web on this issue and there is a consensus that it is adobe which is at fault. I believe in order to protect their reputation adobe will need to resolve this issue; I think it unlikely that the telegraph contract with ooyala allows them to ignore commonly used pc o/s's like linux. There is certainly little point in Adobe investing in linux flash if popular websites fail to provide adequate infrastructure.

Looking at Adobe Official Docs for fl.controls does not mention that this library is somehow restricted.

Due to the shortcomings of Flash on Linux (read: too hard) I'm developing the (small) flash portion of the app in Windows, which means there's a lot of frustrating back and forth. Now I'm trying to capture the output of the flash portion using flash tracer and that is proving very difficult also. Is there any other way I could monitor the output of trace on linux?

The thing is that when I have a video playing in background and over it I make some tweens, it flickers all the time and it is an annoying flicker. It happens only on Linux Flash Player (it works on Windows Flash Player). The flicker appears when I have a video on background, only when the tween is made and on the portion of the screen where the tween is made. I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed and the latest version of standalone Flash Player (from 2/24/09). I've tried this on several LCD and on all it does the same. My video card has the Intel G31 Express Chipset (the drivers for the video card are the one from Ubuntu).

Apr 2, 2009I am working on a previously developed flash files that contain components. My development system has recently changed to Linux and since I have noticed the components aren't loading in firefox 3 (latest player version 10,0,22,87), both files have a slider component and one also has a stepper.The slider doesn't load at all, the stepper shows the number as text which I can edit.Opening the files on Windows XP with the same player version (WIN 10,0,22,87 apart from being on windows) and all was ok. Then I checked Vista (exact same version as XP) and the same issue as with Linux showed.I tried with vista (WIN 9,0,45,0) and everything was ok, I also switched linux back to 9 something and the components loaded correctly.I then wrote a basic test swf with just labels and a slider, this worked on linux with 10,0,22,87.I gather it must be to do with the way the components are dynamically loaded (as we use json to set the component values/options). Has anyone had a similar issue or can notice any issues in the way we are loading the components?
