Media Server :: Client Side Playlist With Dynamically Streamed Items Possible?
Apr 7, 2011
is there a way to define a client side playlist like this:[code]but instead of a single videofiles for each playlistentry use dynamic streaming?I know how the DynamicStream class is working and how to set it up but i can't find any information if it is possible to combined those two techniques.
I have a series of mp4 videos (H.236 @ 22 fps) streaming from an akamai FMS serve via RTMP protocol in flash player 9+ with AS 3.My goal is to create client side playlists that smoothly switch from one stream to another. I am creating these playlists using a series of netStream. play (filename, start, len) methods. If I don't use an offset for the start parameter, then the stream switches smoothly from one video to the next with not noticeable jump or jerkiness. However if I introduce a start offset, say a few seconds in, I start to see a quick little hiccup or pause between the seams as it switches from one playlist stream to the next.
Below is the code. When the swf is connected to FMS(the connection is successful) I use this application.user_so.send("enterContestGroup"); to call the client side mothed. You can see that in the client side I have defined the "enterContestGroup" mothed. However the fact is it doesn't call that mothed. Can anybody tell me what the error is
I am streaming pre recorded audio files (mp4) to an AIR client. I have tried two different solutions, streaming the file directly with the NetStream.play("mp4:xxxxx.m4a") and creating a server side playlist, adding the same sound clip and then streaming the playlist. The problem is, when streaming the playlist i get a few NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW, this does not happen when streaming the file direct. Both solutions uses bufferTime=1.0
I would like to use a server side playlist to implement a simple key solution so that the client dont know the full path to the file, but instead sends a key to a custom server side function that looks up the file path and creates a stream for the client.
I am generating a playlist server-side but am having problems when I try and scrub it on the client-side.Here's the contents of main.asc of my application:
The client calls "getStreamLength" to get the length of the sequence from the server; I do this in order to set the length of the scrub bar correctly. The problem is when I try and scrub - both forwards and backwards - it doesn't work; the stream just pauses then picks up where it last stopped, regardless of the position of the scrub bar.Is it possible to scrub a server-side generated playlist using Flash Media Server?I am using both Flash Player 10 and 10.1 and version 3.5.3 of Flash Media Server.
I want that every stream is changed every 10 seconds and that the complete playlist starts again after the last stream was played. So far it works but only for three times. Then the messages "NetStream.Play.Stop" occurs.
The $995.00 version is listed as not supporting server side playlists. Is it possible to implement internet TV station like functionality using that version? I would like to have a list of files to play out and have it so those connected are all viewing the same thing.
I have created a script for an Adobe FMS application to broadcast a playlist of video files as a live stream. (internet tv)
I am now working on a custom Flash-based video player to play my stream.
How do I send information from my server-side FMS application (main.asc) to the client-side video player? (e.g: title, duration of current video player)
I understand how clients use bandwidth detection etc to dynamically switch streams via client calls with ns.play2( ... ), but I was wondering if it's possible to only ever use 1 initial ns.play( ... ) call on the client side, but let FMS server side logic that I write dictate which client sees what content. For example, I have 3 clients connected to my FMS server, all watching a live stream. I then decide I want clientA to see 'recordedMovieA.flv', clientB to continue seeing the live stream, and clientC to watch 'recordedMovieB.flv'.
I've shoved an array in a RSO serverside and now i need to update values in the RSO client side ...I tried the following but it doesn't work...I'm using actionscript 3.0
Has anyone been able to get bandwidth detection to work using the flvplayback control (client side - using AS3)? I have successfully got it to work using the video component with bwcheck and bwdone but I need to figure out how to do this with the FLV playback control. I am using FMS 3 and do not want to use the native bandwidth detection that comes with FMS. I need to detect the clients bandwidth and set the buffer time and what bitrate of a video (high, medium, low) I provide to a user based on their bandwidth.
In other words, is there an equivialant of bwcheck and bwdone that the flv playback can hook into to detect the client's bandwith?
what to set in FMS config files to help me with rebuffering on client side? The player (flash, rtmp) rebuffers a lot (approx. twice a minute) with no good reason - i've tried several players with various buffer settings, clients and server have sufficient bandwidth for the stream (live streaming) - so i guess this can be helped server side - can it and how?
I'm trying to create a simple application that streams the webcam to FMS 4.5 (running on a Windows 7 machine), and then displays the published stream locally. Here's my code:
All traces in the event handlers show the NetConnection connecting successfully, and the netstream publishing successfully. However, I get no video output from this. I've confirmed this using the sample video player in FMS 4.5 as well. There is also a weird traffic pattern reported in the FMS Admin console. There is some traffic (~4K) when the NetStream first publishes, but after that there is no activity.
I want to download files from the server side to client side without prompting a window to the user to download when any updates happen at server side.Right now I am using urlstream class but first file is downloading completely rest of the files contents downloading partially.
editCode sample taken from other post. Warning: it's a huuuge chunk o'code.
I want to create an application that has these features
- At client side: Display a list of images, when user click on one image, data will be stored in MySQL database.
- At server side: Manage images used in client side, I can delete, add new images.
Is this possible for me to achieve this using Flex? And if it is able, will my output be 2 separate SWF files? And where can I find the materials to read on writing such applications?
User interacts with Adobe flex webpage to configure reports based on some data stored server side. They configure their view and have THAT view emailed to them daily. I've got the report builder, the part I'm trying to figure out is how to render the report server side and send it out as email (native flex functionality? convert to html? take screenshot? assume something is running client side?...)
I am writing a thesis and have been able to place all my frameworks under two categories (client-side frameworks and server-side frameworks), but I can't seem to finf where to place Adobe Flex...In which category should I place this or should I place it in some separate catgeory?
I am making an app where people upload a bunch of images and it thumbnails them and saves them to the server. Is it better to create thumbnails from the uploaded images, or to upload them to the server then re-download the thumbnails?
I have Flash Media Server, and I think it's free edition coz i dont input serial number when i installed it..I have problem to have people stream from my pc, there's a public IP address assigned/mapped to a development PC here..I'm able to stream it locally from my computer, fyi, my computer is using windows XP and the development PC is using windows 2003 server..and there's an apache webserver already installed there..
1. if i dont install the apache server bundled with the FMS, is it okay? I dont intend to stream through port 80...
2. what is the difference between port 1935 and 19350? I saw 2 files in the FMS directory, namely fms.ini and Adaptor.xml in fms.ini it binds to 1935, but in adaptor.xml it binds to 19350...
there's an explanation in above it that it binds to some ip we configure here, but if you wanna bind to any ip then omit the localhost and leave it like ":19350" my question is that is this necessary to do so in order for people outside our network to connect the development PC ?
4. about security at the proxy server or ISP, I've confirmed with my boss that he's opened the port 1935 to be allowed, and he's also confirmed with the ISP that they dont block port 1935..
[code]This is my code that i have inserted into the first frame(?) of the fla file. When I use the swf in a html web page, i can hear the video but I can't see it and play skin cannot control the video. This is also a part of a security token code which i'm implementing on the client-side.
Does anyone know if Flash Media Server has a function that allows you to see statistics on which particular streams are being delivered?Seems like that would be a handy tool in determining which bitrates are important to continue providing, and which are superfluous, and if it's time to try encoding at higher bit rates.
I am new to actionscript. I have created a script that will play server side sound object and client side mp3 files alternately. Now, I would like to play the client side mp3 first then only play server side sound object alternately. However, I have no idea how can I do so. The following is the code that need to be swapped:
how can I find on fms server that client disconnected if if client disconnected due to power cut off. I client manually close the application then onDisconnect on server is called but if due to power cut off it does not called.
What technology are better (robust, stable, speed) for rich web app with flash movies, chat, etc. Somebody said that Red5 will drop down if more that 50 users try to suck video stream from it. Is there people who use Java on server side and Flash for client side?
I am new to flash media server side scripting, i want to know that is there any tool or editor available to write server side script easily like we are doing in Adobe Flex or Flash Builder
I have a requirement to do a flash program or something like that (not necessarily flash, it can be javascript or something in aspnet) that allow me to save audio in the client side of a web app, and save it on a file in the server side of the web app.
Ive found this but the only thing that it does its to recognize the microphone, I need the hability of saving the audio file, by the way the server is implemented in aspnet
Since I'm developing a multiplayer card game for Facebook using Flex as client side and Java SE as server side, I wanted to know how do I actually make the connection between Flex and Java? the server and client should be able to send each other data(cards, movement, room information etc...) across and I wonder what's the easiest way to do it without complicating it. where to read about it ? I know JAVA but I find JavaEE hard to understand.
