I've setup a simple DVR player using the DVRCast application and Adobe FLVPlayback 2.5 from Adobe tools. I'm able to use it to play a recorded live stream which is recorded by Flash Media Live Encoder.
I'm wandering if I can now use the DVR player to play a video within the vod application?
To start with I just want to copy the f4v file created by Live Encoder to the vod directory and then use the DVR player to play it.
Create a new folder named AudioStreams at C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4.5applications. Open the AudioStreams folder and add a new folder named streams. Inside this folder place a new folder named _definst_ and copy the four audio files in the Exercise to the _definst_ folder. I am confused when should we create definst folder and when C:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 4.5applicationslivemedia folder?

It will not be running on the internet/network and only for a computer that have TV tunner. (Ideally: open a swf and you can watch a TV tunner by flash player). But i cannot find any information if i can do it without FMS.
Probably this feature is in the next generation of FMS 4.5 However, it is said this can be achieved with some manipulation of files with current FMS. Can we do a 2-way live video session.

I have FLV files streaming fine from the media folder in the applications folder.I want to split up the videos into folders to make them more manageable.If I create another folder in the applications folder at the same level as the media folder and put a video in there the video does not play.

Our problem is: When we used Flash Media Developer Server 4.5 (Trial), we can use Share folder. However, when we bought Streaming Server and deployed with same file structure, we can't use Share folder but Local folder only.
Is there any limitation of using Share folder in Streaming Server?

But I want to retrive this .FLV using HTTP mode, to load the .FLV progressively, not by streaming. Got it? For example, if I record a user webcam called "myWebcam": myVideoClass.load("[URL]");
Using http (progressively), not rtmpt (streaming). There is some way to do that? Or to move the file from applications folder to webroot?

I have my server configured so that the installation is on c:, and the media files are on d:.To begin with I tested the streaming files in the original installation location and this worked.I've have now moved the vod folder - D:applications:, and updated the FMS.ini file to accordingly look for the applications folder on the D: and restarted the server.The Administration console is correctly identifying the VOD and LIVE applications in the new location, but all the streams have stopped working
View 5 RepliesI've got Flash Media Server 3.5 up and running on a development server and now want to start customizing the install.
The first thing I want to do is to move the applications folder to a remote server/NAS. This is a failsafe so that if for some reason the Flash Media Server goes kaput all the flv files aren't wiped as well.
Can I configure Flash Media Server so that the applications folder points to a remote network drive (via UNC paths) without causing any permissions problems? How do I do this?
Actually I am the application is for recoeding live stream. The recorded videos are placing in the folder named live_test as specififed above.But I want to change this path. There is a folder named public in the root directory. In the "public" folder we have a folder named Recorded_Videos, I need to place the recorded videos on this folder. How can I do this.Another issue that occurs while recording is NetStream.Record.noAccess. This is occuring while the recorded video is placing on client's flash media server with the path that i specified above. But when i running it in the local flash media server(developer version), its working well. The recorded files are placed on live_test folder. In the client's server the stream is not recording, instead its showing an error like "NetStream.Record.noAccess". The code that I am using for recording live stream is follows:

We are trying to install our Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server. The problem we are facing is that Apache which comes with FMS is set to be run from /home/Apache2.2.21_x64 for some odd reason. Even though we install whole FMS to /opt/adobe/fms folder Apache still has /home/Apache2.2.21_x64 everywhere compilled in. Is there a way to change Apache root folder?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a flash player to stream an on online Internet radio station using FMS. I chose FMS after being told that I need RTMP server to extract the metadata. Our radio audio is being encoded using a DJ interface called SAM Broadcaster. But for some reason, it does not have an option to send over the stream directly to a Flash Media Server. Only options are either IceCAST or ShoutCAST. How should i setup the stream? Should it be Stream encoder>> IceCAST/SHOUTCast Server>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client. Or should I setup Stream Encoder>>Flash Media Server>>Flash Player Client? Shouldn't Flash Media Server be an alternative to IceCast or Shoutcast? If that is the case, how do I send over the stream from SAM Broadcaster directly to Flash Media Server without restreaming through another streaming server?

View 1 RepliesI got a bunch of live stream from FMLE, say: "FMLE_channel1", "FMLE_channel2", "FMLE_channel3". And then on the server side, I created several corresponding republished stream called "channel1", "channel2", "channel3".
On periodical basis, we call Stream.get("channel1").play("FMLE_channel1", -1, 10, true) every 10 seconds. Similar things were done on the second channel & third channel.Soon after the above Stream.get("channel1").play() call, I should get the following events in sequence:info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Startinfo :NetStream.Play.Resetinfo :NetStream.Play.Start In the above case all are happy. Clients can view channel1, channel2, channel3 well.But then after a while, one of the three channels, in most case it would be channel1, will not be viewable.
With the server trace info, I found that after the Stream.get("channel1").play() call, only the following two events exists:
info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Starti.e. I was missing the play.reset and play.start event.I further checked and confirmed that the FMLE was publishing all three channels fine to the server. I was able to view the "FMLE_channel1" from flash clients, but not the republished "channel1". the version is FMS 3.5.0.
I have an *.flv file on a FMS. When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.
View 20 RepliesI am streaming pre recorded audio files (mp4) to an AIR client. I have tried two different solutions,
streaming the file directly with the NetStream.play("mp4:xxxxx.m4a") and creating a server side playlist, adding the same sound clip and then streaming the playlist. The problem is, when streaming the playlist i get a few NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW, this does not happen when streaming the file direct. Both solutions uses bufferTime=1.0
I would like to use a server side playlist to implement a simple key solution so that the client dont know the full path to the file, but instead sends a key to a custom server side function that looks up the file path and creates a stream for the client.
We use FMIS (3.5) to distribute our videos, but how can I use HTML5 to view them without duplicating the video to the HTTP VOD directory.Can I point to the application FMS file location like I can with RTMP in some way?

On one server, when i add a swf in the folder application/vod/SWFs, the swf is "added" 5 minutes later as authorized swf, according to the UpdateInterval config value. On the other i have to restart the server. I checked every config file of both server, they are exactly the same (except few values depending on the servers themselves, of course, like IP, host, etc...).Anyone has an idea on what could be the problem on the first server? This is very annoying since a restart disconnects all my customers!
View 4 RepliesI have a swc plugin embedded in my product to stream live video to a group of recipients.The plugin uses the NetStream, NetGroup and NetConnection objects, the server I use to handle the RTMFP session is Influxis.One client creates a group as a publisher, and stream a live video.His Camera is enabled and I can see the video on the screen as well. The others connect to his group and play the video.Peer assisted Networking is enabled for both the publisher and the recipients.The plugin worked well in all 10.x versions (10.1/10.2/10.3)However, when upgrading to flash player 11.x, it stopped working.

The server I use to handle the RTMFP protocol is Influxis.com I sent them the same question as well.The weirdest fact is that I'm using flash builder 4.6 with 4.6 sdk, which is aimed for flash player 11.1, and it is only working with 10.x flash players.
