im using FMS4 as origin server and connect to FVSS from CDN, whose FVSS version's FMS3.5. with this all, when it's played with flashplayer from CDN every each connect require just wrote sth in the server log file as below:

and due to these frequent errors the CDN Edge service would get shuted down. but after i changed the FMS4 into FMS3.5 with origin server everything just worked well.Now my question is, is that a bug with FMS4 or? and what can be done so far if we want to go on use FMS4?
FMSMaster -console fails on assert I am trying to use FMSMaster -console to start FMS 3.5 on cmd.exe by system account "administrator". but I get an error when trying to run FMSMaster -console.The error that I receive is as follows:

I've googled this and come up empty. All I am trying to do is create a netstream and assign a group to it like so:

If I remove the groupSpec optional parameter I successfully connect the NetStream. According to the docs [on this page] I should be able to identify a GroupSpecifier in the NetStream constructor.
I have a single server that runs IIS and FMS, both on port 80. The server has two internal IPs assigned to it, one for IIS and the other for FMS. I also have two static public IPs. My router maps one public IP to IIS' internal IP and likewise for FMS.
IIS works fine. Using an online port scanner, I was able to determine that port 80 is responsive for both public IPs. Before I had configured my Adapter.xml and fms.ini, only IIS' public IP was responsive. This seems to indicate that FMS is fine.
However, when my ActionScript creates a NetConnection and calls connect(), my netStatus callback takes about half a minute to be invoked, and I get "NetConnection.Connect.Failed". Which is not very informative. Is there a way to get more info about the cause of the error?
How does one go about debugging unknown error messages?My core.00.log file has these entries in them.

The company I work for installed FMS on a server running Centos for a customer who needed streaming media capabilities. It worked fine for 3 months until today the customer called us and informed us that their client program can no longer connect to the streaming media server. No one has done anything to the server to cause this to happen. When attempting to access the admin console to diagnose the program, the streaming server returned a 500 Internal Server Error. So I tried another page. Same result. Reboots of both the hardware server and the FMS have changed nothing.
How can I turn on error reporting that tells me exactly on what line of my .asc file an error or warning has occurred? I need this in order to debug why my fmscore is constantly segfaulting, presumably caused by my .asc file. I know the .asc is causing the crash because when I removed a section of it, the crash suddenly stopped - but I can't figure out why it would crash at all, and it does so at unpredictable intervals, sometimes every few hours, sometimes every single time, ..
I am trying to start making an admin client side application to monitor our service, including its properties that simply cannot be done through Administration Console, like blocking IP addresses of offending users.My problem is that even before I start using the Administration API (on which I will comment further down), I tried to f.e. inspect theshared objects and streams of the application through the Admin. Console, but I get a popup "Failed to make debug connection, please check that the application is in debug mode." Configuration files are unaltered from install, which means xPendingDebugConnections is set to 50, AllowDebugDefault is set to false, BUT in the serve side main.asc file I have "application.allowDebug = true;"Also, on a related note.
I can see that the Administration API lists the API itself, but there is vague to no mention at all where to connect first? I recall spotting somewhere suffixing the RTMP URL with something like "_fcs_debug" or something, but you can see how this frustrates me - I really don't like to google stuff that is supposed to be in the documentation The application instance usually accepts connections from regular non-admin clients, with proper parameters, which are irrelevant for admins unless these are users too (double membership, you can say)

Some users are unable to access any of our video content, getting a Server Not Found error.We have our FMS configured to use ports 1935, 433, 80. Our firewall is allowing RTMP traffic to each of these ports. Is there something more I can do from my end to make sure users can access our FMS?
1. In FMS core logs I see this error "Failed to open log file[URL].. But I check and found the file exists. What can couse this error, do you have any idea? 2. Is there a way to disable logging for an application? 3. Then click 'Connect' , but I get an error "Failure to connect to primary server verify that your server URL and application name are valid and that your internet connection is working and retry". My server is a 32-bit windows 2007 VPS , with FMS running.I don't know if I set up the DVR Cast application correct. All I did was copy the dvrcast_origin into the installationdirectory/applications, then I started a new instance of dvrcast_origin with _definst_...Also, I am running the trial version of FMS, and DVR needs FMIS. I developed an simple video player based on the osmf with a dynamic streaming.It works fine with the examples from Akamai, but if i take my Live-Streams the first stream loads but as soon as stream should switch to a higher bandwidth i get the error:ERROR : error ID=15 message=Playback failed detail=Failed to play (stream ID: 1).Has anyone an idea what i do wrong? I am getting "NetConnection.Connect.Failed" error when trying to connect to my FMS 3.5 server from Internet.Things work pretty well when the application is hosted and accessed on my local network. Now when I want to connect my live stream application to Internet it isn't working. Public IP for my server is of type xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx (My machine is mapped to the ip so to connect I need to mention the port as well).I am running IIS and FMS on the same machine. I have changed the default tcp/ip port of iis to 8080 and the ports for FMS are set to 1935,80.I have updated the HTTPPROXY.HOST value in fms.ini to HTTPPROXY.HOST = :8080 (port of IIS)HTTP tunneling and HTTP Proxy are also enabled.

We have a very simple webcam recording/playback application we're using in a mission-critical user assessment application.Users are given the ability to record themselves using their webcam and microphone, then review their recording and submit it for graded review.The recording application appears multiple times per HTML page, and while we can record and play back video, we have large numbers of instances in our core.log of the following error

While these videos will play back with varying degrees of reliability, they will often "hang" for several seconds at the end of playback before sending the appropriate NetStream.Play.Stop and NetStream.Buffer.Empty events, and will sometimes hang indefinitely.Further, they report inaccurate runtime metadata, causing our playback indicator and progress/scrub bar to function erratically.In any case, the functionality and user experience of the recording tool is substantially degraded and must be fixed in order to successfully deploy this tool.
Disabling NTP services is not an option, and further does not appear to be the culprit, as these errors occur on a large number of recordings.As recordings need to be immediately available for self-review before submission, running flvcheck on each recording is also not an option.We have tried a variety of fixes, including waiting to unpublish until the buffer is empty,reconnecting after every recording, forcing FMS not to reuse connections, and using separate NetStream objects for recording and playback.Nothing has eliminated these errors.Adobe support referred us to Tier 2 support, and I am in the process of contacting them, but I'm looking to exhaust all my options before continuing.Is there any reliable solution to the backwards timestamp recording issue, or do we need to find a different media server application for our needs?
I am experiencing some failures with FMS 3.5.1. Searched the logs and it appears the following error repeats itself more than 20 times per second in the admin logs: Failed to wait for process condition: errno(22).
Complete log error is (_defaultRoot_, _defaultVHost_) : Failed to load application instance publishLive/live.. Flash Admin Server and Flash Media Server are running on local machineWhen testing I get [object NetConnection]: NetConnection.Connect.Failed When I remove the main.asc file it works...what's going on there?

I'm running the development edition of FMS 4.5 and am trying to get HLS working. Whenever I attempt to publish a stream from FMLE, I receive the message:
in the livepkgr application instance and Failed to record livestream (disk quota exceeded).in the server log.I realize there are limitations on the development edition (10 minutes of iOS streaming), however usually these limitations restart when the server is reset. I've restarted the application instance and the server itself, manually starting and stopping the service, and I still receive that error when I first connect and try to publish the stream right after a server restart. I've reset the server multiple times to no avail.
The recording settings in the application.xml are all set to the defaults (-1 for no maximums).Unfortunately I've never been able to get this to work yet so I'm not ambitious enough to start testing it on any production servers.
We are streaming live events encoding using H.264, so therefore we have to save the file as a .f4v. However, whenever I try to play the file, I keep getting a "playback failed" in Adobe Media Player. What could I be missing? Is there anything else I need to do in Flash Media Live Encoder?
I'm building a video conferencing applicaition for a portal. But now when considering which version of flash media server to buy, I run into some problem. So can anyone helps me about comparing this two versions: Flash Media Streaming Server and Flash Media Interactive server, like if I use Flash Media Streaming Server, some function like NetStream.pause() may not work or something like that? I'm not sure if this is a foolish question but please let me know.
when i do this locally on tomcat server on local development machine it works fine when i brought it over to linux im getting this error.i dont know what to do anymore it should be straight forward but i'm having no luck. i do have a web.xml and i see a broker for my remote access so i just dont know what it could possibly be
One server - is streaming server with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5that host the application with asc files in FMS application directory.Second server - is the IIS web server that host thehtml,aspx,swf etc.. files.So basically i heve swf file on one server that have to connect to live streaming via rtmp on different server with different ip address.I did not find any clear explanation on this crossdomain rmtp issue.ys only HTTP can use crossdomain.xml policy filebut not rmtp.So what policy security procedure need to be done in order to enableswf file hosted on one server to connect and show rmtp live cam broadcasting from another server?

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working.I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3.My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it.I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc.The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors.Here's what I've tried so far:
Playback of a local FLV file works fine.In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RTMP.Any attempt to access FLV files on my Media Server, which has worked fine in the past, basically cause the FLVPlayback object to sit and hang in "buffering" mode and never progresses beyond this point.The netConnection object in this case is null.Here's my code:[code]........
Again the purpose of this is to troubleshoot the video streaming from the Flash Media Server, and it seems like there is no netconnection to the server being created.Does this mean that the server is not working, or is there a problem with the way I'm trying to access the content on the server?This was all working fine before, and I have set up the server-side application .ASC files and such to allow things to work fine on the server end.
