I am trying to work out if FMS is the solution I am looking for. I am trying to create a system that will store data, and upload it to a database when the user leaves the page. I thought the best way to achieve this would be to send a data object to the media server, check on an interval to see if the user is still active and then somehow upload the data when their "session" times out.

Basically I wanna keep a hiscore table for a flash game, and would need to store juz a couple of names and a couple of score in a little file, but i havent the faintest idea how to go about it.
I now have a Windows PC and I purchase Adobe Flash Media Server 3.5 software and install.I but server space on a managed server arrangement.I upload my pre recorded Flash clips to the server and my website and playlist to my host. Basically the website is channelled via http and the clips via RTMP. The key question that no one inside Adobe seems to be able to grasp (or answer) is ~ will it work if I stream my own clips?! or is it inferior to say that of a professional streaming company.The streaming companies charge anything from $125 to $250 a month, a big cost for someone like me, streaming around 1000mb a month. So does anyone out there have direct knowledge of this software and can you stream via rented server space without using a streaming company?
View 1 RepliesWe may be using Flash Media Server in an intranet only scenario. All users will be watching the videos from Windows boxes. Our users who are creating the videos want to track usage by user ID. Does the server log the client's user ID? Is that what c-client-id is? If c-client-id is used to store Windows user name do I need to turn on AD/windows authentication to get that info? I see that IP address is stored, but it would be simpler if the user Id were in the log file.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
Basically im building a flash based drum head designer for users to upload their own image, resize, add text etc, then it be uploaded to a web server when they complete the purchase.
I have all the server side part working, able to send a 2800px square image and compress it into a 1.5MBish jpg.
the problem im having is for the user to upload an image into flash. I've seen prototypes where it uploads the image to the server, then flash loads that image, then upoads the completed one, but this uses alot of transfers.
What I hoped to achieve is something similar to the system on the [URL] website where the image is stored in the cache first. I have spent hours looking for resources on importing user images into flash without uploading first.
Am developing an app on which a user can record from their webcam or upload videos to the fms. Is it possible to upload video to fms using php or flash?

Both are almost identical. However when I compile the .fla to .swf (having changed the URL for my server and application), and after I load the server-side code, I get the following error in my server-side log:
Method not found (recData)
I understand that apparently it is not finding the method, but I tried getting it off the function in the global scope, tried attaching it to the client, etc. but nothing worked. The original code of the server-side script is:

rtmfp downloaded from the node, and the upload bandwidth to another node, but the FMS bandwidth limitations Client.getBandwidthLimit () seems to only limit the bandwidth of the server to the client such as RTMP, ask how to limit the bandwidth between nodes, such as RTMFP.

I have a AS3 Android Application that is playing background music but when the user leaves the application, the music still is playing in the background. Is there a method to call that senses the user leaving the application so that I can turn off my music?

View 7 RepliesI have been working on a tool for use in our office which creates XML. The problem is if a user leaves any of the text fields blank, I get only the end tag, for example </text>. This only happens if a text field is blank. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to handle this. Do I have to check every field for data? I am at home now so I can not post the code right now. But basically, I set a variable which holds the XML structure and is filled in with variables from the text fields.

View 10 RepliesMy rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.

Right now we have the problem, that we can not connect from FM Live Encoder 3 to FMS 3.5 running on the localhost (M:AdobeFlash Media Server 3.5Apache2.2). I'm having a problem with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5. I have a simple application setup. I would like to simply to be allow the user to record multiple flvs. This is just because we want them to record, preview and either publish or try again.

to start and stop recording. The problem I'm having is that while the first record seems to go ok, the second gets garbled. The video starts about 70% through, and then just plays a small portion. I've tried meta injection to fix it up, but it's just not working. I'm thinking maybe I have to reset the stream or something before starting a record again, but I don't know how.
In my tracking I records the voice, it generates the file (if i download I was able to listen to it), but if I try to play, it doesn´t play. If I use FP9 r124 it works, using FP10r53 or the latest 10.1.82.76 it fails !!! all with the same SWFhas anyone experienced the same? I can not ask everyone to downgrade the flash player.

View 3 RepliesI've installed Flash Media Server and send stream to it use Flash Media Live Encoder via [URL]. And on my website, I've embed code to play this live stream via [URL]. All ok!
But, any user can install Flash Media Live Encoder and connect to my FMS, publish his/her stream (because url to publish and view is same) My question is: how to prevent end-user publish stream to my FMS, only allow end-user view my live stream?
is it possible to extend the access.log file? I want to pass user information via the connect method to the application and want to include this data in the access.log file.
