I've been attempting to use the Motion Presets feature for a project, but the Motion Presets window does not display any folders or options. I only see the following: the motion presets tab, the further options in the upper right corner, "preview not available", the save selection as a preset button, the new folder button, the trash, and the greyed-out apply button. The file is intact and in the proper location.

2. Import that SWF into another FLA that has a larger stage.
3. Play back (ctrl-Enter) the FLA and the motion (translation etc.) inside the SWF is there, but the effects (blur etc.) are not honored.
I have tried to find tutorials on how to use Flash CS5 motion presets, but could not find anything in english. Can some one please point me to any? I type in text on the screen and while the text is selected, I pick smoke from the preset menue, and I got the following error... I even made the text into a symbol.
The motion contained color, filter and / or 3D properties that cannot be applied to the selected objects(s). The unsupported properties were removed.
If I open the motion presets in the menu I get the window but a blank space and no list of presets, did I delete this somehow?
View 5 RepliesI saw on a website once (I wish I could remember which site it was), flash buttons that were creatively animated. The button would appear just as text, but when you hovered over it, an image would rise from behind it, then, when you moused off, the image would go back down. It did this for each of the buttons and I cannot figure out how to get that to work, especially since in CS4 with AS3 you cannot use AS on a button. It's also really difficult to add a motion preset to a button....
View 4 RepliesI put a motion preset (zoom in 3D) on a movie symbol instance. It worked great--it zoomed in well, and the instance stayed at the center of the stage for the whole animation, which is what I wanted.
I realized that I needed to change the stage size, for reasons I won't go into.I converted the stage measurement from pixels to inches, and resized it.Of course, all my graphics and instances were now off-center. In realigning and resizing everything, I discovered that my instance with the motion preset was no longer staying centered on the stage. It now travels in a right diagonal down to the bottom right corner of the stage when played. In fact, now anytime I use that particular preset on anything, in this file and in new ones, the same thing happens. It's like the preset has changed permanently on my computer and won't go back to the default.
I've tried editing the path frame by frame, but that makes a mess. I've tried using the subselection tool to edit the path, but that's imprecise and not working well.As an aside, I loaded this particular file onto another laptop here at work that has Flash Pro too. Before I opened my file on this new computer, that motion preset worked fine. Now that I've opened this file in the new computer, that preset is messed up, even when I start a new file.
lets say we want to animate an object using the 3d position its (Z position)to be exact, from keyrame 1 to keyframe 40 or so on. i put the object on keyrame 1 to 10000position and view and then its keyframe on 40 to 0 position and view,so it looks like a nice object zooming towards you as you see it.but how can we get the object to constantly spin around and around(like from the motion presets from the default:spiral 3D ) .so it seems like a coin been tossed.

and I have an #include in the root file i need to use this function in how do I correctly call the function from the external AS? I had this working at one point but even then i had a problem aswell with the speed of the motion and stuff but hopefully we'll get to that after i get this thing working.
whether it be text, symbol, a shape that I drew. None of it works. When I create the motion tween the line arrow in the timeline doesn't show up like it should. Here is the extremely simple animation i'm doing. The problem are for the bottom 9 layers starting from frame 80. I converted all of those to graphic symbols and I'm just trying to do a very simple alpha 0-100 while resizing the letters. I've also tested motion tween on very simple shapes and it never works. I just don't get it.
View 3 RepliesI am attempting to create a motion tween between two keyframes. The image is the same...the first keyframe has the image set to an alpha of 0 and the second keyframe some 20 frames down the timeline is set to an alpha of 100%. The keyframes are on the same layer. The image has been transformed to a symbol. Yet when I double click between the two keyframes and create the motion tween so the image will fade from 0 to full view at 100% nothing happens.
I don't see the familiar arrow that normally indicates a motion tween between the two keyframes. I've created this transformation a thousand times before but don't understand what is different in CS4 that isn't creating the tween. When I double click on a frame in between the two keyframes it indicates I can remove motion tween so, it makes me believe the motion tweening has been set but, it isn't. I am quite frustrated and don't understand if I haven't set something in the preferences so the tweening will work or just what is going on.
IF you copy a motion tween as an AS how do you insert the code so that it still performs the motion?I created a motion tween, copied it, deleted all frames, made just 1 frame, placed the object on the frame (from the library with the same name used in the original tween) pasted the AS onto that frame of the relevant layer but it does not work

I am trying to get the setTint() method of the fl.motion.Color class to work. I couldn't find any examples. Here is what I tried.

View 3 RepliesI'm writing a JSFL script to export animations from Flash. I iterate through every frame in the timeline, and for each frame I go through every element in every layer, and write each Element's symbol name and matrix values out to a file. The problem is, if you've created animation using a motion tween, the exporter steps through every frame but sees the same matrix values for each Element in every frame. This is where I hit the first problem: Iterating through the timeline in this way doesn't seem to work. I can't see any way of getting the right information out for each frame.
There is a workaround: Namely, selecting all the animated layers on the timeline, and selecting "Convert to Frame by Frame animation" from the context menu. Then you run the exporter, and then you have to undo the "Convert to Frame by Frame" animation in order to continue working on the file. That's pretty messy, so I tried to automate the process, by having the export script perform the convert to frame by frame. When you perform the action, and look it up in the History window, Flash tells you that the JSFL command it used was the following:

Is there a way in as3 to manually call one of the preset line stroke styles? I'm going to be drawing a line in as3 and want to use one of the stroke styles given in the pull down menu (6th down actually) in the line drawing tool in the gui.

Within the web page I have created Motion Tween with Motion editor and once previewed, it works fine. Going back to the stage and previewing the result shows the initial position of the Motion tween but it doesn't move and behave the way it shoud. What's missing? Where am I going wrong?

In this code I'm creating a new window when I click the button. In the new window are TextInput and DropDownList components. When the new window opens, clicking the DropDownList does nothing - you have to click it a second time round to get it to open. However, click into the TextInput field first and then try opening the DropDownList works no problem.

In my Flex (Flash Builder 4) Air application, I have a spark window and have set the close="" event handler (also tried the 'closing' event) to a method that pops up an alert confirming if they want to close the window. This worked fine in my normal browser based app as a TitleWindow, but now that it's an Air app with a native spark window, it's not working. I never see the alert dialog, and if I debug trace, it does in fact go in to my close handler method, but visually I can see the window is already gone from the screen. In an AIR application, how do you add a confirmation dialog for when they click the "x" to close the window?
View 1 RepliesI have buttons inside/on window01/mc that are still active/clickable when the opacity is 0, I basically have a area on my website that if you click it opens the window corresponding to the button. how do I stop this? I only want the buttons to work when window01 is opacity 100.

just click in the blank black area below the nav bar and the window will appear. The normal way to get to this window is click products than the buttons.

just as the title says, _blank opens the link in a new window, _self does nothing could the issue be related to testing locally?

I understand that the code below should work but it doesn't, I have to take the underline before self out, for the hyperlink to work at all, and then it creates another window for the file. There may some sort of glitch that I am not aware of. But the code below does not work as is in my app.

I've tried to use it. It works fine in all the browsers in a non frame layout. But when aplying it to a frame layout (i know, not cool but nessecairy) it refuses to work, and it generates an error message. That it can't open the requested HTML page.
View 1 RepliesI've tried the chromeless script from chromeless.org but it doesn't work in windows XP SP1 and SP2. I need a pop up full screen window as I've designed the whole site with the full screen in mind and if I can't get a pop up, I got to redo everything!! I redid it twice and I'm not going to try the third!! OMG!! Anyone has alternative solutions for this? Or anyone has another version of the chromeless script that works with SP1 and SP2?
