So I've just embedded a .swf file as a header to my blog and the home button, the logo, is not working.Everything is linked up correctly. When I test it in Flash, it brings up my blog. However, when I'm actually on the site, the button does nothing.

I've tried using the Action Script to Go To and Stop at Frame feature, but it doesn't work. I need the "Home" button, whenever pressed to take the viewer BACK to frame 10.

I am working on an iMAC running 10.6, and Flash CS5. I created a flash file with a list button ( with 10 inner sellections) on the main page. Each sellection within the list button loads a separate movie file from the library. Everything works great unitl Iinsert the Home button. If I install the home buton the main page, the list button does not work. If I install the home button in a movie, I don't know how to write the action script to go back to the main page, and I woul have to install a home button into each movie.

It works great when I am on the home page, but stops working once I navigate to any of the other pages. I have an Actions layer and that layer extends the full length of all pages/frames of the timeline.
I have the frames labeled as such: home, services, about, and contact. (All are "Type:Name")
each button is named as such: home/ instance of "home", services/instance of "services", etc.

The ad on the bottom right of the screen (the one with lightning flashing) has an invisible button in its Flash file (CS5) linking to [URL]. This file is imported as SWF in Dreamweaver CS5.
The hyperlink works in Firefox, but not in Safari. Maybe it is just my computer.
I was going to download the trial version of Flash Professional CS5.5 but when I got to the download page it wasn't downloading. The "Download now" button was there, but it was unclickable, when I clicked on it it didn't work, plus it was a little dimmer than I remember it was when I downloaded another trial. I'm also using the latest version of Google Chrome and I tried downloading it on IE and Firefox.So, is there any solution to this?

the idea is to load reels.swf in level1 on top of video_main.swf in level 0 why reels.swf size looks much larger even though all swf's are 900 x 800?

I've created my app and it works great. But when I press home button on my iphone, my app minimizes and when I open it from multitasking apps, it simply restarts. Is it possible to freeze or pause the game instead of stop?
View 1 RepliesI have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.

So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:

First off, I am new Second off, I hate action script it's a pain in the ass. Here's what im dealing with: Im making an info point computer program in flash cs3. After making several pages I am forced to make a navigation button to jump to the first frame(home).
At the home page you will be sent to several different pages (these links work just perfect. To create a home button i've made an button with the same code

Unfortunate this does not work, while the links at the home page do work.
I've tried several things to fix it, but it won't do:
- Send to tagged frame "home" instead of frame "1".
- Change the instance name
- Putt the actionscript in the exact same frame.
Weirdly enough the home button does work on the keyframe where it is placed, even though I pushed the frame over all the other pages it wont jump to home.

I am an html/css programmer and don't know much about Flash. I've just been asked to update this site which has many Flash elements. I just dissected the site but can't figure out where the slideshow is coming from on the home.html page. I opened the index.swf object and there are no images just a background. I believe the original designer used Flashbox for the slideshow and Flash as the backdrop? I think I have the other galleries (click View Rings portfolio or another portfilio) figured out.
It looks like it's pulling in a Flash file and the Flash file is pulling in images for the slideshow (at the bottom) from the images.xml file. I opened the Flash file (image gallery.swf) and the full pop up -- background and large photo and slideshow -- are included in the .swf file unlike the index.swf file. Am I correct? Not sure if a Flash file would pull in images from an images.xml file. How do I edit the Flash file if it's not pulling the images from the images.xml file? When I open the file it just shows me the .swf file in design view.Is this over my head and should I hire someone with Flash and Flashbox experience?
i have a question about loading an mp3 in flash. the mp3 is loading & playing fine, but if i click a button to go to a new frame, and then click another button to return to the home page, a new copy of the same audio clip is loaded over the one that is already playing, thus causing two audio files to play at the same time. it will keep loading a new copy of the audio clip every single time i return to the home page. how do i go about correcting this? the following is the code i am using:

i have a menu, that works with a xml file.the xml has the specific code that triggers the .as file:[code]when i press the button home for example, the home will load...then i press the button about, and it loads as well, but the home still playing on the back.how do i make the content for home to disapear when another button is clicked? because the code works for all the buttons, it has to be something generic that would work for the event of anybutton being clicked.

I made a few buttons for my .fla and all the states are working but the hit state. So just to see what the problem was I made a new button, which is only text at each stage, so for up i wrote up, down down etc, all the states work but hit, what gives??? hit is after someone clicks it it should be at the hit state correct?

In each section I wonted a means to get back to this index, so created a index button that is present throughout each section. I've put the event handler in the actions layer on the same frame that the button instance is on (frame 15).

I am creating a somewhat elaborate (for me at least) navigation for my site. I have created a bunch of animated MC's to use as nav-buttons, and all that works great. The only issue is that when you mouse over the MC-buttons, the cursor stays as an arrow instead of turning into the little hand that always happens with links. The links work, but no little hand. Do I have to have a "hit area" defined in order to get the hand icon to popup or what?
View 7 RepliesI have two Flash projects, an Intro (1 scene) and a Portfolio (5 scenes).I copied all layers from the Intro and created a new scene in the Portfolio file,and pasted the layers. All of my buttons work except for the button that brings me from the end of the Intro, into Portfolio.weirdly enough, this the same button that I use throughout the portfolio to bring me to the "Home" scene.When I remove this button, the error message goes away. I have some deeply embedded mcb's (movie clip buttons) that I want to control another movie clip's internal timeline. The movie clip that I want to control is on the main timeline.The animation is embedded in the movie clip.The button I want to use to control it is embedded two levels down in another movie clip. I have a project for a site that sells fishing lures.I want to have an animated index page before moving on to the home page. My idea is to have a boat sitting on a pond fishing lines in the water, when a fish jumps out of the water, the water ripples, the next time you see the fish it's got a hook in it mouth and jumping out of the water.how do I go about it? How to I create the water rippling? I think with the fish I can do easily enough with it jumping on and off stage. Would I do the water with shape tweens?

I am working in FB 4. First one in my company to do so, but others are right behind me (contingent on additional funding for software). I am trying to set up Git repositories for my current project. I have an alert box popping up saying that my environment variable HOME is not set. How do I set this?
My project is contained on a external USB drive as such:
I:DocumentsdevelopmentSERCOFlexsercoMediaManager
And my workspace is set to one level above my project (down to the Flex directory).Where should my HOME variable be set to?I have a couple of workspaces already set up besides my 'SERCOFlex' one (all correlated to targeted audience -> training, EnergeticPixels contracts, etc). I am trying to keep all FB projects and workspaces on my USB drive. This way I don't have to lug my Serco laptop home to do after hours work.
