if I put a TLF in my FLA, doesn't matter where, the project compiles but as soon as it runs triggers errors that are not related to TLF at all.It doesn't find a linked class apparently. A class which has nothing to do with TLF. I remove the TLF (in root, anywhere I put it no difference) and the project runs again.

I've followed an XML slideshow tutorial [URL] and used it in a project. When my movie loads, the slideshow plays, which is fine. When I go to another frame and come back to the slideshow frame, I get the below runtime errors:

I am developing a Flex + AIR application. While debugging using Flash Builder sometimes I get runtime errors dialog with 'continue' & 'dismiss all' buttons. But when I release a build(.air) & run the application after installing. Then I don't get the same dialog in the release build. I need to track these types of runtime errors for that I am trying to write them to a file as logs. I tried using try catch & writing to file in catch block, but I am not able to get any wayout for unhandled exceptions or runtime errors

I've created an application that includes a number of Modules and uses Parsley framework. Ant is used to build the application.Recently I thought of using Resource Bundles and implemented it in the system by creating a locale/en_US folder under the src. I added a portal.properties file with all my strings defined.In my modules, I added the metadata

In the ant build file, I added the below lines within mxmlc.

The build works fine and when I deploy the application and open it in my browser, I'm greeted with many errors thrown by the Flash player.But if I dismiss the messages, its working fine. My strings are replaced with the values in the property file, but how do I stop the runtime errors being thrown up?I get the below error.

I download Flash CS5 and I try to execute it without an error message coming in and basically the program does not start.The message goes as follows:

Update is not applicable.
So here I am unable to start Flash CS5. Anyone know a way to fix this issue?
I am following a code example in a book and have the final fla and as files, so I know the project works when fully coded.In the book, it tells me I can test the movie to make sure that it is working so far. When I do that, I get the error 1120: Access of undefined property.
The "property" is a component instance. If I take the example completed code and remove everything up to the point I am at, I receive the same errors, so I know it's not a spelling/syntax mistake.I have a feeling it is the Compiler in Strict Mode. But, when I change it to Standard Mode, then I get error 5001: The name of package 'com.foundastionAS3.ch12' does not reflect the location of this file. etc.
note:: attached is a file of the compiler when it gives me multiple 1120s.
I installed the Flash CS5 trial and each time I launch the application, a windows with the message (error initializing java runtime and may need to reinstall Flash). That's making 6 times that I reinstall Flash CS5, Java 6.21, unisntall, install from CS5 Suite, single Flash CS5 and always the same problem. I use Windows 7 X86.

All graphics in this animation area greater than the stage, so I could extend the stage size to 1200 x 450 px.
So, my miz size for the movie is 1200x330 px and max size is 1200x450 px.
Is there a way to show the movie at minimum size or maximum size based on the browser window heigt?
note that the movie is put iside a table in my html file.

If you resize the browser window the flash movie (and only the flash movie) will be shown in different ways. If the browser window is higher enough the whole flash movie is shown. If the browser window is not higher enough, the top and the bottom of the movie will be cut. Of course there is a trick that cuts the movie only to a specified minimum size.

I have a project where I use several SWFs and have the fonts outlines stored into a seperate SWF. Within the .fla file's I have checked the Import for runtime sharing with the various font definitions.In the library the linkage part shows for every font the Import: classnamTo get a correct idea how things look within the IDE, I've checked several character ranges within the font properties so the preview renders correctly.In Flash CS5 everything was working correctly; no font outline was included within the SWF. The size report also shows this.When I create the SWF with Flash CS5.5 font outlines of the selected ranges still get embedded into the SWF. The file size of the SWF is much larger and the font outline information shows up in the size report.

I've been into coding for about 5 years now, but I'm a recent convert to Flash development. One of the questions I have at the moment is, considering that SWF files can be run by either Adobe Flash Player OR Adobe AIR, what's the real difference between the two runtime environments? What API's and Objects exist in one environment, but not the other?
Basically what I'm more or less trying to establish is, when would I want to develop an SWF for AIR, and when would I want to develop for Flash Player, considering that Flash Player can also execute locally (providing support for creating "desktop applications")
it loads an external .swf file and is supposed to play it. I've added an event listener to run when the file is loaded. The function it calls moves the video to the bottom most layer so the buttons still show and then plays the file. The problem is the event listener never triggers.

I bought flash to create animations. So far they play fine as a swf, but when I export as a .mov file it leaves traces of tweened symbols and looks really ugly!See my test example below, error is about 4 secs in on car and sun. Please tell me what am I doing wrong? I know it works for other people!

View 2 RepliesThis image shows the problem, the 3 is a PNG image with a nice drop shadow that expands quite far from the white square. It is a movieclip which was added by the square movieclip.This obviously changes the size of the movieclip so the ROLL_OVER will trigger whenever the mouse is over either of these objects.My question is, how would I make the movieclip "3" never trigger any sort of mouse event for its parent?

I have been producing animation on my Mac using shape tweens and hints where necessaryUnfortunately when these files are then opened on one of my colleague's PCs the shape tweens appear broken as the hints have dissapeared.If the file is opened on another Mac this does not happen.I have yet to spend too much time focussing on testing the whys and wherefores of this problem, but wondered if this is a recognised issue or is a one off
