Professional :: Flash - CS5 Interface Corruption?

This is a computer I am provided with while I work onsite. I am having severe corruption issues. Sometimes the fly out panels appear on the opposite side of the monitor, scroll bars duplicate and appear over the top of my work, and the toolbar just disappears completly until I mouse over each button and force flash to redraw them. It seems to be redraw issues of flashs actual interface, not my work.Not sure how flash renders its own interface, but my .NET framework and java is up to date if that makes any diff.Is this an incompatibility with the video card? I've never seen this before and I wasnt able to find any solutions while googling, or even mentions of this issue, unless I was just searching for the wrong keywords

I had been using Flash CS5 as a trial for the past 6 days without issues. Yesterday, I made a change to a file, and went to preview it, as I had several times before. This time, when I slected preview movie, Flash crashed umexpectedly. When I launched it again, it came up looking very corrupted - window as messed up, and any an all attempts to load any of the workspaces resulted in Flash crashes. I had to completely uninstall it including all prefs to get it to work again. I am hesitant to try a preview movie again.

We recently upgraded to Windows 7 64Bit from Windows XP here at work, and since the upgrade i've discovered a very scary issue with Flash.When going to save one of my large projects, often Adobe simply crashes outright, freezing up and displaying a standard error message."Adobe Flash CS5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." - with an option for "Close program"I hit close program, and Flash disappears. If I try and open that same FLA file again, I get the error messageUnfortunately it seems since Flash is crashing in the middle of saving, it is corrupting my FLA file. This is extremely worrying, since it corrupts my entire source file.Here's the details of my computer:OS: Windows 7 - Recently upgraded from 32bit Windows XPThe Flash CS5 version is 11.0.0.485The FLA in question is 10MB, and contains some large map files (gifs), lots of small JPG's as well as a fair chunk of code as well as importing of external classes. I've tried replicating the issue on smaller files, and haven't been able to do so.

I would like to have a flash app on a website where:A user can input some values Those values are then sent to a server which has an executable fileThe exe is run with the user's settings and then sends some data back to the userThe data is displayed in the flash app.Is it doable with CGI or is there a better alternative to this?

I'm having an incredibly annoying problem with Flash CS5 on my Mac that is making the software absolutely unusable.
If I open a previously worked on file and start deleting layers and moving keyframes, the screen never redraws the interface. As in, if I delete a layer, I don't actually see it go away. It's still there in the interface. Minimizing/maximizing does nothing to refresh the interface.

When working inside the Flash application every time you right click an item the context menu appears, and when you are near the bottom of you screen and there no enough space for the contextual menu to fully deploy an arrow appears at the very end of the menu to indicate you it continues (in stead of simply deploy upwards).
Now here is the problem: i'm used to the After effects interface and so i like to have the timeline sitting down at the very bottom of the interface, but then when I right click the frames to simply copy or paste keyframes (or whatever) i must navigate through a shortened-with-an-arrow context menu which it slowers my workflow a lot. It would there any chance to always have a "full length" context menu every time I right click on a frame?

Using Flash - AS 3.0: I am trying to use ExternalInterface.call to open a .pdf file - but it is not working - nothing is happening...
ExternalInterface.call ("window.open","diagrams/v1/crh.pdf", "WindowName", params);
But this line DOES work - call an .html file to open.
ExternalInterface.call ("window.open","m5_quiz/v1/quiz.html", "WindowName", params);
I can't find any information that says this should or shouldn't work - it seems to me it should open it. To get around this - I have been using 'navigateToURL' to open the pdf file - but that triggers the pop-up blocker - using the External Interface call does not.

We're using External Interface for interfacing between Flash and JavaScript on the HTML page. All works fine online. When we
try to localize the pages though (so that a Salesperson can have a CD full of demos), none of them seem to work.Is this an over-sensitive Flash security issue? We already have allowscriptaccess='always' and swliveconnect=true in the object/embed tags.
What can we do that doesn't require changes on each individual machine to set trust paths or any other kind of browser configuration? Not only do we want to have this content working on the machine of a salesperson, we may get clients that want to deploy content offline (kiosks, machines without any network access).

I am getting an error with RegExp class at my flash document. I am using an Action Script 2.0 at my document. Is RegExp class is not supported in AS1/AS2 ?

I have a project that requires building the project using Scenes to chunk up different sections of an Elearning course.
I have created 20 Scenes.
Each Scene uses the same interface design.
On the Interface there are 6 specific buttons that will allow users to visit 6 instructional areas.
All six buttons will be avialable in all 20 Scenes.
My question is: is it possible to replicate the six buttons across all 20 scenes without having to provide unique instance names for each button in all 20 scenes so that the code to go to a scene will work in each Scene?
Or do I just have to code all 180 buttons individually as I go?
What I mean is for example.
The Lesson 1 button is replicated 20 times. the lesson one button has actionscript to go to the Lesson 1 Scene.
If I replicate the button to another Scene, I have to give it a different instance name, and update the code for that button each time and for all buttons.

I'm doing a trial of the CS5 applications and I cannot seem to find out to increase the size of the font on my user interface. I'm finding the default font size to be too small to work effectively and find the commands I need. I've tried Edit->Preferences which is where one typically finds this type of interface option; however, I do not see any way to do this. I've tried adjusting my screen resolution and screen font size and while this affects every other application on my screen, it does not affect Flash Professional.

We're currently developing a small Flash application to display our company's capabilties. This application will be stored on a small USB thumb drive that we give to our potential clients. When the thumb drive is accessed, users will see two folders "Media" and "Other"; and an SWF file entitled "Start." There is; however, one more file that displays: the interface/skin file that we used for our FLV videos (entitled "SkinUnderPlaySeekStop.swf"). If this file is not included in the same location as the main SWF file, the interface/skin will not display on the video.
We would like only the two folders and the main SWF file to be displayed on the root of the thumb drive. Is there anyway to move the interface/skin file into another folder (for example, the "Other" folder) and call it up from that location within the original FLA file?

am building a site in DW CS4. The site is for a custom nameplate service; once they choose a design and colorway, I'd like to allow customers to preview their name on the sign with, say, 6 different font options to choose from. I've never done any kind of interactive Flash--other than simple mouse actions, so I am at a total loss as to where to get started. Has anybody seen a template that might work?

how can I increase the size of flash CS4 interface? Meaning also to enlarge tools buttons, so they are easier to see. I have to strain my eyes, because all of the toolbars and text related to them are too small, for constant work.Is this possible? I know there is one way - to increase display DPI settings, but that would also increase the whole desktop, but I would like just to increase flash interface text size and if it is possible then also tool buttons.

I am creating a Mac cd rom with a flash interface and want to open folders on the cd by clicking a button on the interface. I read the this can be done using a bit of applescript but I'm having trouble executing the applescript from flash, I have save the applescipt as an app and when I run it I independently it works fine but when I try to run it using FScommand from flash no joy?
This is the action I'm using on my button:

I have also created a folder in the root of my cd called 'fscommand' and put my script app in there but still it wont work?

I'm trying to make an interface akin to the DS (have two screens, top just displaying the images, bottom handling input), but I'm not sure how... Would I just make 2 different flash files then merge them somehow, or would that not give me two seperate screens?

I'm developing a Flash web site with AS2 that uses a "pan" interface to transition between sections. When the user clicks on any of the sections, the entire web site pans to the location of that section. I've accomplished this by placing all of the content inside of a container movieclip, then tweening the movieclip's _x and _y properties using TweenMax. Everything works great, but the transitions are a little choppy and I'm trying to find any way I can to smooth them out. You can view the site in development here:URL...I know this type of question is hard to answer without looking at the code to ensure I'm minimizing CPU usage wherever possible, but I am using TweenMax as my tweening engine, and from the research I've done it is the least CPU intensive tweening engine available. Additionally, I know this site is pretty graphic intensive, so there is a lot of graphic rendering that is going on as the transition takes place.So, my actual question - is this as smooth as I can expect the animated transitions to be with the amount of graphics I'm using, or is there anything that anyone can think of that I could try to increase the frame rate?

Having a problem trying to get the external interface working with as3. My flash file has 2 input text boxes with instances of 'received_ti' and 'sending_ti' and a button with instance of 'send_button'. My html code has a simple form with 'sendField' and 'receivedField' inputs and a submit with a value of 'Send'.
At the moment i can get the flash file to send text into the html 'receivedField' input but cannot send text from html into the flash file's 'received_ti' text box.

I am developing a test system and want to allow the users to access the questions in the database without the ability to copy them. A php file intermediates the access with the database. There a couple of links to certain sections of questions and then links to certain pages. Is there a possibility to put this php content in a flash frame and deactivate the possibility to select text?

I have an older site that is coded in AS2(I can't get it to AS3 sorry) I found this script online that allows for mouse scrolling. It is in AS3 and I can't figure out what Event replaced in AS2. I'm sure there are much better AS programmers than me that could tell me off the bat. I'm just trying to get this converted to AS2.

1. The task at hand that the client needs is to be able to import about 2 min. of flash video.2. Once the video is playing in the flv the client would like the user to be able to click and edit button.3. Edit button than takes you to a screen where the start point and end points are shown. The start and end can only be 30 sec.4. Once you locate the start of your video you can drag the end point where you want it to end.5. Than you click save and the video player will now only show the 30 sec clip you designated.
