I am using DynamicStream to automatically switch incoming streams to the appropriate bitrate depending on the available bandwidth. I was wondering if there is anyway in which I can instruct the DynamicStream to allow more bandwidth for audio (obviously at the cost of losing some frames from the video).

Mar 1, 2010I am involved in project managment for a large video conferncing project involving over 100k simultanous connection and most likely to be increased 4 times by next six months.While figuring out the scalability area ,it was concluded that smart selection of hardware and origin-edge clustering will be suited most. Well while studying this documentation says it supports thousands of calls but unfortunately I could not determine the actual numbers. Can you tell me how many edge server will be needed for 100k simultanous calls/number of sessions per edge server and will we need license (4500$) for each edge server?

Sep 20, 2010I have performance issues with my test web chat app - video playback is very slow on, around 1 frame per few seconds at 640x480, 15fps, quality: 90. Network usage is low (gigabit LAN), cpu's still have some headroom so it should be the software.
Quick description of my setup:red5 0.9.1; simple flash broadcast and subscribe derived from here [URL] and mr. accattato's videos; using oflaDemo on serverside.
Local image on the broadcaster is good.So far I guess flash broadcaster would be the most likely culprit, but here is my worst since I am new to flex. Red5 should not modify the stream I guess, and it doesn't make much sense for the subscriber to play only 1 frame per second.

Nov 30, 2009I have Mac Pro OSX 10.58 - CS 4 Creative Suite.I have been using Flash to produce projector files totally fine for months. However, today when I publish a Mac projector file I have come across a problem. Flash publishes a .app projector file OK, but, when I open it, it appears in the dock as if it were open but I don't see anything.
Any projector files I produced prior to today still play fine. But any projector files I have created today have the previously mentioned problem. I have tried creating a totally new FLA and publishing from that incase it was the FLA I was publishing from was to blame - same problem.
I have reinstalled Flash, but the error persists.Today I also installed new software. I installed the Developer tools because I wanted to use PackageMaker. I also installed Xray. I have removed Xray incase that was at fault - but the problem still persists.

Oct 11, 2010I'm playing live stream supporting FMLE from FMS. There is no problem with playing if we are starting at first the player and then we are starting the stream with FMLE. The video skipping problem is occurs only if we are starting first the stream with FMLE and than our player.The versions: FMLE 3.0.1.5963, FMIS 4.0.0, Flash Player 10.1.53.64, and codec h.264 Is this a bug in FMS/FMLE or I'm doing something wrong?

May 1, 2011Am building a video chat application and i was wondering if there are any native events for the NetStream that fire,that can help in detecting when a remote client starts/stops streaming video over his outgoing stream (NetStream) to which the other client has subscribed over P2P/RTFMP in AS3 ?I maybe able to dispatch custom messages since the two clients are already connected, but i don't want to add the extra overhead.

Feb 25, 2012I'm making an animation of a line drawing itself. I'm using a vector line that I drew in Illustrator, which I imported to the stage. I have been erasing a bit, inserting a new keyframe, erasing it a bit more, new keyframe etc. When i have finished this I intend to reverse the sequence so the line appears to be drawing itself. This process has been going really well, but at 1820 frames in a section of the line has started to shake/jitter (by which I mean from side to side very quickly). I deleted the frames and did them again, using the same process that I have for the rest of the line which is not jittering, but this small section is still jittering. It doesn't jitter or move when I move between frames, it only jitters when I play the movie by pressing Command + Enter or I export it as a Quicktime .mov file.
PS here is a YouTube video of the problem. The jitter starts around the bottom of South America. You may need to make it quite big on your screen to see it. You'll notice that that part of the line doesn't jitter most of the way along, but starts to jitter when it gets to that part.

Mar 21, 2010What is the shortest path between zero (ie no flash related development software on my computer or information about where to obtain it or get started) to running a "hello world" ActionScript? I'm hoping for an answer that gives step by step instructions about exactly what software is needed to get started, an example of some "hello world" code, and instructions for compiling and running the code. I've spent more time than I think should be necessary researching this question and not found much information. Hopefully this question will be found by programmers like me who want to get started with Flash/Flex/ActionScript (After my morning of researching I still don't even know what terminology to use so I'll just throw it all out there).

Nov 1, 2009I was wondering whether it is possible to start Flash CS4 (or any other Flash version) authoring using a command. The project is related to a virtual supermarket. The client needs to delete existing products (jpg) from its web site and replace them with new ones. Basically I have a swf file which has one jpg file in each keyframe. What I want to do is to start Flash, access some keyframes delete some jpg files and load new ones and generate the new swf file. However, I want to do this automatically, ie; using a scheduler. Would Flex solve this problem?

Dec 10, 2010I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.

Sep 9, 2010I'm porting in an .flv to Flash for the first time. I created the .flv from an .MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, and then opened a new Actionscript 3 .fla in Flash Professional CS5, clicked File > Import > Import Video. Then selected 'Load external video with playback component'. Everything seems to have imported fine, but when I publish the SWF and import it via Dreamweaver CS5 and preview the page, the video is there, but the controls are not. There's just a white box where the controls should be. Also, the video is out of sync with the audio, which I believe is a problem with Media Encoder, not Flash.

Flash :: Professional - Maximum Video Size To Keep The Video Running Correct?
Mar 28, 2011I'm currently working on a website design. The idea is a big chromakeyed interactive video in Flash. The size of the video is 1080 (width) x 1500 (height) pixels.I've exported the video in After Effects with the standard settings for flash (File>Export>Adobe Flash Player(SWF)). Now when I import the video in Flash and preview the file, the video plays in a slower speed and it's not playing smooth at all...Is the video too big? Is there a maximum video-size to keep the video running correct in Flash? Is it something else that causes this problem..?
