Professional :: Freeze Up When Copying And Pasting Between FLAs In CS5.5?

I am very frequently having Flash CS5.5 freeze up whenever I try to copy and paste Library content between two different FLAs. The object I'm copying is usually a Movie Clip with some child Movie Clips.The larger or more complex the FLA you're pasting into, the worse the problem seems to be.I''ve experienced this on two different systems, Both Macs running 10.6.7.The problem is bad enough that it renders 5.5 unusable.
I have Flash installed under Vista 32bit.I am using a Flash based graphics package that will not copy to or paste from the clipboard.Latest Flash is installed.
I am having a problem which I I'm pretty sure (hope), there should be an easy answer to. I want to take frames out of a movie clip in a Flash file and paste them on the main timeline. The problem I am having is Flash is pasting them back on the stage in a different spot than where they were when I copied them. This is totally messing up my tweens! Is there a way I can get Flash to paste them in the exact position as they were in when copied?
i am happy with it and now want to repeat it with all the other images in the slideshowhe problem is, when i copy the keyframes (with a tween) on the first image that animated and try and paste them onto the 2nd image in my series, it actualy charges the image as well ! So that the second image becomes the firts image on the keyframes.Is there a way just to copy the opacity and motion animation ONLY ? My guess is there must be because to animate each picture by hand with a custom ease in & out curve would take forvever
whenever I want to copy and paste or duplicate something it never just leaves the original alone. It creates an instance so i cant edit one independently from the other. How can i just simply easily copy and paste a symbol movie clip ect. and have it be completely independent from the original?
I have been trying to copy a movie clip from the library of one flash and paste it into the library of another. But when I do this, it always gives me, "One or more library items already exist in the document.
I have tried finding and renaming those items, renaming the existing movie clip, and even changing it into a graphic instead. Still it always replaces these certain movie clips in my main flash file.
I even tried the following: Creating a new movie clip in the new file. Then going into the movie clip of the other file I wish to copy over, and trying to copy its frames and put it into the new movie clip i created in the main file. Even then, it says I'm replacing library items!
I have a client who has a Flash project that was used for a cd rom. The flas are 1000 x 1043. I need to know the best way to be able to save the entire presentation for the web. I already tried re saving the flas publishing in percentage that doesn't work. If I make the actual stage smaller the mc's and all dimensions would have to be made smaller manually am I correct.
There was this problem with CS4 which was solved with an upgrade and now CS5 again fails to compile my larger FLAs. Sad to see the IDE going backwards.
I like to keep my timelines compact, so I often have several graphics in a single layer. Let's imagine that I have a series of five keyframes, with four shapes in each one. Over the course of those five keyframes, one of the four shapes changes into a different shape. Now, let's say that I realize that one of the static shapes needs to be something different. "Oh no! That circle shoudl be a triangle instead!".
I know how to use Edit Multiple Frames to drag a box around that shape and delete it across those keyframes, but there are a few problems with that.One is that if the keyframes are really long or I have more like 30 or 40 keyframes in which I want to make this change, I have to drag and scroll and drag and scroll the shaded part of the playhead to cover all the of the keyframes or be willing to do it in chunks. Also, if the thing I want to delete is sitting on top of something else,then I can't drag a box around it without selecting that other thing. I could click the object and delete it, but that only deletes it from the right-most keyframe. I then have to click and delete for every keyframe.
All of this is secondary to the fact that Edit Multiple Frames doesn't seem to allow you to paste something into all of those frames. At least, not any way I can tell. I suppose this is a sade-effect of not assigning every asset its own layer, but that would get almost unmanageable with some of the projects I work on.if there's a way to paste things into multiple/successive keyframes on the same layer?
I work in a team of four to five Flash developers, making banner ads in CS5 on Macs. We all experience bugginess when pasting objects from one file to another. It's especially likely to happen when pasting an object onto the stage. What usually happens is: after pasting, you lose the ability to position things on the stage. Other weird things sometimes happen, such as registration points shifting in unrelated clips, or the whole Flash app crashing.This also happens when pasting in frames, or -- less often -- when pasting between libraries.We had one project with 47 ad units. When a change was needed across all units, we had to quit and re-launch Flash 47 times to paste in the revised movie clip and integrate it into the layout
I have just moved to CS5 and have found that an important part of my workflow has been compromised as a result. Whereas I love to use Flash as a drawing tool and move elements from here to illustrator, then from Illustrator to Photoshop as a shape layer - I have found that Illustrator CS5 renders everything that I paste from flash as a bitmap.I note that there are several options inside Flash to determine how it imports Illustrator files, but I cannot seem to find similar options within Illustrator to change how it deals with objects pasted from flash.
I am trying to copy frames from 6 different layers along with the objects (action script, tween motions, buttons, graphic elements) from one movieclip to another. But once I do that, everyhting seems to be shifted and if I try to reposition the items in the new clip, it seems like I would have to repeat after every keyframe for each layer.
So my question is A. Is there a way to duplicate a movie clip but give it a instance name (an entirely new movieclip with the same frames and layers in the same position as the previous)?
B. How can I move mutliple objects across layers and keyframes?
Flash freezes when in fullscreen, youtube or any other site. Disabling hardware acceleration works but significantly lowers the playback quality. I'm running XP SP3 and WIndows 7, same problem with both OSs, in IE, Firefox, Opera, and Google chrome, so it's definitly the adobe flash player that's causing the problem. Tried unninstaling adobe flash player and adobe activeX completely, than downloaded latest versions and installed them. Then I tried unninstaling them, unninstalling all the browsers, restarting, then installing the browsers and then the latest flash player.
I am new to flash, and I've never done animation before, so I'm a little confused on how to make a symbol movie clip, freeze and then keep moving.
Do I need to do it frame by frame?
I made a character walk from off the stage to the center by using a motion tween and it appears to be moving because I edited the symbol to make the legs move. But now I don't know how to make the legs stop when the character reaches the end of the motion tween. Is it even possible?
why does my exported .mov file freeze/skip? I exported a .mov if HD 1280x720 and it freezes/skips. If I convert it to another format it's okay. Is it my video card or am I am not exporting it right? I used the h.264 and compressor quality best.
I am developing a product for schools including flash animations - swf files written in AS3 - for insert/embed into PowerPoint slideshows. Hundreds of customers are waiting. It is all working apart from one problem: when inserted/embedded in PowerPoint 2007 slideshows my animations freeze (sometimes) when you leave and return to a PowerPoint slide containing them.
I have found that when you show a PP2007 slide containing a flash movie, move on to the next slide and then return, (sometimes) the time-related Events (ENTER_FRAME, TIMER etc) have stopped being dispatched to AS3 code by Flash Player, freezing animations. Other Events such as MOUSE_MOVE, KEY_DOWN etc are dispatched to AS3 in random bursts. I have created a small flash program and PowerPoint slideshow to demonstrate the problem and put them on the web at: [URL].
I have two flash files, the one Im editing and the original. I want to copy two perfect layers from the original and past them on the one im editing, but each time I copy, it only copies the image, cant copy the entire layer with the animation.
so I am trying to move the contents of my Flash movie to another, I want to keep thier file structures and tweens. I can keep the file structure but when i move the layer to a new movie clip or file, the tweens are shifted from their original place. how can i move them but keep their coordinates as well.
I have an .fla I created a while ago. In it is a movie clip in my library which I now want to use in a new .fla. This movie clip is reliant however on an image which is also in the library. I have tried selected both the image and movie clip, copy them, and paste them into my new library, but this doesnt work. I have tried cutting... I have tried duplicating and copying the duplicate. Nothing seems to work. Is there anyway of getting a symbol from one library into another?
In Adobe Flash CS3, is there a way of copying a complex animation from one document to another, differently sized document and have it appear in the same relative position, i.e. bottom left of my stage?I created a growing flower for a 300x250px file, and I want to use it in a 728x90px file. It has many keyframes. I tried pasting in the frames, but it appears off stage. I need to move it upwards. Do I have to move the elements at each individual keyframe, or is there a way of moving it universally at one go?
I am having problems copying directories of movieclips from one flash file to another. They appear to be fine until I save it, then when they are reloaded they are missing a parent movie clip, and all of the children are blank.
I am creating a small game for a project im doing it is only ten levels long but I wish to include feature such as saving etc. I have one some research on Shared Objects and it seems to be the best method. The idea I wish to execute is to have at the end of a level after reaching the levels goal have a piece of code that runs and saves that the next level has been unlocked. This seems relatively simple. However i have done things awkwardly i think, instead of creating the whole game within a single fla. each level is a seperate file, eg. level1.fla, level2.fla etc. Is it possible to use the same shared object across multiple .fla's?
We have several people that touch Flash files at my company.oes anyone know a good way to make sure we're not opening the same file at the same time?Sort of like how Word will prompt you with a choice of opening as read only or how Dreamweaver lets you check files in and out.Is there anything like that for Flash?
I want know if it is possible - in any way - open FLA files (from versions 6 to 8) into an third IDE, edit this file, converting, for example, texts and animations, automating codes wich converts static texts into dynamics, accessing database etc and export a brand new SWF movie.I have a costumer that told me about a "miterious" programm wich can do all this things like edit/export - direct from his FLA files - a new SWF or EXE media. And save another FLA file with all those modifications. In other words: is it possible I make my own Flash IDE?
I'm working on a large Flash CS4 project with multiple swfs and want to consolidate my build process. Are ant/make overkill or have people out there successfully used them on large Flash projects?
how do I compile Flash .FLAs using command line? I am using Eclipse + FDT for Flash development and I would like to use ANT to automatize the compilation. I am using AS3 and need to compile for Flash Player 10.1.
