Professional :: Inserting A Link To A Specific Time In A Flv?
Apr 12, 2010
I currently have a flv running on my home page which is about 5 minutes long. I am wanting to insert 'quick links' to specific times within the flv so that people do not have to watch it all they can quickly just click the lick and the flv will jump to that point.
Because on some connections this can take quite some time, I want a link to appear after a specififc amount of time, say 10 seconds? Kind of like a, "loading too slow? Click here for whatever."
how to accomplish this within this loading code and frame?

I need to insert string in another string in specific index. var str1:String = "A"; var str2:String = "LoremIpsum"; I need str2 to be "LoremAIpsum", insert str1 in index 5 in str2.
I have a website that I originally began to design in flash but later started developing new pages for it in html. The flash part of it has several pages on different frames and I have created links from the flash part to the other html pages, but, I can only link the html pages back to the main flash home page, and not the other pages in the flash part of the website.
1. The old main logo was not as wide as the new one, so now the entire new one is not clickable (to take you back to the main page). How do I fix this?
2. For the life of me I can't figure out how to make text (or a button if need be) link to a specific flash frame. If you look on the site, there are a couple of spots under "What We Do" that I need clickable to take them to the Contact Us page.
I have to quickly make a countdown timer for a website that counts down to a specific date & time (Not midnight). I need like May 4th, 2011 at 9:10 AM.I used a tutorial to create a timer that counts down to midnight but need to modify it to countdown to a specific time other than midnight.
var today:Date = new Date(); var currentYear = today.getFullYear(); var currentTime = today.getTime(); var targetDate:Date = new Date(currentYear,1,12); var targetTime = targetDate.getTime(); if (targetTime <= 0) { gotoAndStop(3); } var timeLeft = targetTime -
I've been trying to figure out how to add a bone in the middle of an armature. Currently I have a bone from the neck to the shoulder, but would like to add an bone in between the neck and shoulder. Does anyone know how to insert the bone without having to reconstruct the entire branch?
I have been trying to insert flash file but I keep getting error messages that: Not Found The requested URL /annimations/Snow.html was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I firstly publish flash into both swf and http files. Then, I opened view source of the http file and pasted the code onto the dreamwaever file. <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="[URL]" width="700" height="500" id="Snow" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="movie" value="Snow.swf" /> [Code] .....
In addition, I deleted code that swfobject.registerObject(FlashID) on the http file. The dreamweaver gave an error message that the code swfobject.registerObject(FlashID) can cause error when downloading the flash. Finally all http, swf and flash files were uploaded. But I still got the error message above. In the past, I managed to upload flash using the method above, although I did not get any message regarding swfobject.registerObject(FlashID).
I inserted video into flash movie. I loaded the .swf & .fla files onto a server and went into the properties in the flash movie and pointed to the server to pull the .fla file & the movie controls .swf file. I can preview the movie in flash with no problem. I am wanting to use the object code that was created as part of the .html file that was generated by flash and insert this into an article to display the video. I path the .swf file in the object code to point to where it resides on the server but the video will not play using just the object code. Is there a way to do this using just a object or embed code without the need for scripts?
I just scanned in 16 frames from old 16 mm film and created a short clip in .swf, by default the clip is looping. I want it to loop, but all I want to do is place a 5 second pause at the end of the short 1 second clip before it starts up again. I am using CS4 Flash Professional.
When I try to insert a keyframe in Motion Editor, Flash CS5 crashes.I tried to use two computers running the same Mac OS X 10.5.8 with the same specs and only one of the machines crashes.
Is it possible to link to a spacific "page" within a flash site much like you can do with a html web site? I want to be able to link to a spacific swf page within my site without going through the entire site to get to the "page" how do I do this using actionscript 2.0
I was wondering how can I make my links in Flash readable for browsers? In other words, to be able to provide link to specific section of my website. For illustration, take a look at Jenson Button's website:The link above points to the "News" section, although the site is in flash.
What I need is a code that sends the user to a speacific page, everytime that button is clicked. The way I have been trying to do this (which may be wrong) is to set up each page on a different keyframe in the timeline (with stop actions on each one) - surely its now just a matter of adding an action to link each button to their page?
It's about a live support chat. When a member wants to contact me, the chat is ringing (so this swf audio file starts playing). Whenever swf audio alert starts, I get a link: "user X wants to chat, click here to respond".
After I "click here" a new pop up window (the chat) opens, but the swf audio keeps playing without ever stopping, it's like answering the phone, talking but still ringing.I tried the function doStop(); - not working. I tried attaching to the "answering link" different commands but couldn't make it.[code]...
I am able to pass a variable from an html link that loads a separate html file and instructs the swf embedded file to go to a specific frame. But - I now need a link within an swf file on one page to open a new page and tell that swf to start on a specific frame and it is not working. Here is the code I use for the first example - works like a champ:
I know this sounds confusing but it's really a simple question. You can follow my site to better understand. [URL]
If you click on "Films" a submenu appears. I want all of these submenu buttons to link to (u-stu.com/films.html) but each go to a specific frame label in the .swf located within [URL]
I have created a small application which takes it's information from an xml file and displayes it in a news ticker which is a flash Flash AS2 application. tell me the correct way to format the link tag in the xml if there is a standard when wanting to state a target for the link? The xml file currently looks like:
So what I want to do is to be able to open the link in a taget=_blank window however adding that to the end of the url does not currently work.I have added a comma and also tried using a space, space and encompassing in quotes but none are working.
how to write the code that would allow a link from the html page to load a specific swf in the Flash movie. The flash movie currently has buttons that load the specific SWF into a loader. The user needs to be able to essentially click through that button from the html/url link (not having to hit the flash movie THEN find and click the button. The code in AS3 for the buttons is as follows:
I've been searching around the web for a very long time but I can't seem to find a good solution for this pickle:I have a dynamic textfield on AS3 and would like to add a tooltip to some words within the text. I already got the tooltip class, so the problem lies in fact on 'how to listen to mouse over events on specific texts inside a textfield'I've been trying to follow some methods from the livedocs but all I can get so far is a rectangle object of a single character using getCharIndexAtPoint and getCharBoundaries. It works if I just needed to add a tooltip to a single character (since it can detect which character I'm currently pointing at), but I need to search for actual words. It would be nice to have some sort of getMouseAt(text:String) but that doesn't seem to exist.
I'm trying to make a link from one flash site to another, but not just to the home page of it, but to a specific part of it. For example, I run and am wanting to make the direct links from the websites of the seven artists involved (mostly flash sites) to their specific page on thesite... does that make sense?
is it possible to play mc in a specific time frame from the outside??
i'm actually making a card matching game and i'm having problem flipping the 1st card back if the cards don't match... i made 2 animation in 1 mc...the first one is to see the behind of the card...and the other one is to turn it back if wrong...
so is there a way that i could play the mc of the first card to frame 30 when clicking the 2nd card and they don't match??
I have an f4v loaded through flvPlayback. after the video completes, is there a way to loop the f4v from 00:00:05:11 to 00:00:06:15? and have it do that loop endlessly.
I have a video that plays for 1.30 secs. After it has finished playing I would like to automatically load a MovieClip onto the stage, how do I create a timer element to this?
I have a video. First it loads. Then it starts from time that I want to. Also it stops from time i want to. But I want to load my video only from start time to stop time. How can I do this or which method can I use?
