Make A SWF Audio Stop When You Click On A Specific Link?
Jan 21, 2012
It's about a live support chat. When a member wants to contact me, the chat is ringing (so this swf audio file starts playing). Whenever swf audio alert starts, I get a link: "user X wants to chat, click here to respond".
After I "click here" a new pop up window (the chat) opens, but the swf audio keeps playing without ever stopping, it's like answering the phone, talking but still ringing.I tried the function doStop(); - not working. I tried attaching to the "answering link" different commands but couldn't make it.[code]...
I'm using Flash CS4 with AS3. I'm building a website for a friend the problem I have. When a user clicks on a button I want it to play a movie clip then stop at a specfic frame. I want all the buttons to play the same movieclip but go to a different frame.
The current actionscript I am using is located on frame 1 is: home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, homebuttonClicked); function homebuttonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop(0) }about_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, aboutbuttonClicked); function aboutbuttonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void { gotoAndStop("aboutme") [Code] .....
This allows me to navigate to the right frame but does not play for obvious reasons, if I use the gotoAndPlay function its carries on playing to the end of the movie.
I am new to Flash action script and i have problem with action script code. Even though i comment the mvMyVid.play(); still the audio plays for fraction of second and stops.[code]...
1. The old main logo was not as wide as the new one, so now the entire new one is not clickable (to take you back to the main page). How do I fix this?
2. For the life of me I can't figure out how to make text (or a button if need be) link to a specific flash frame. If you look on the site, there are a couple of spots under "What We Do" that I need clickable to take them to the Contact Us page.
I am making a simple radio interface and i have 6 preset buttons which i want to have play the specific preset button's song which is in the library and stop/pause the current song when any preset button is pressed.
i tried using the attachSound function, with associated identifiers but not sure if that is the right way to go. It plays the songs, but doesnt stop them.[code]...
I'm back to try and come to grips with AS3. I have been forced to focus on CSS and jquery. I am trying to make the background blur when you click on a link to play video or another movieclip.
basically on the stage I have my Menu movieclip which is linked to an actionscript class called Menu. Within this I have another movieclip, not linked to actionscript, just a plain old movieclip.
This movie in question is a dialog box, and contains an animation for it popping up, and then going away again. I'm trying to put actions on specific frames to make it stop when it reaches the middle of the animation, then when "ok" is pressed the animation will resume and it disappears again. However the actions on the frames don't seem to be getting executed. I tried putting "this.stop();" on the middle frame, and have since put "trace("hello?");" on all kinds of frames but it doesnt seem that the actionscript is getting called at all.
This is something for work so I don't really want to start sending the .fla file around, but instead is there anything I should know about things which could cause the frame actions to not be executed?
i made a video player with the xml playlist , it's a video channel indeed, it's embed swf in html. but my boss would like me to put a link on the web, when user click the link, it would directly play the specific video inside the video channel. is it possible to do it without server side script but javascript?
What I want is a hint how to make a specific thing happen while clicking a specific button. Like "if I click button 1, do this". Would like to use this script though I'm gonna add buttons over time and this is an easy way to have the functionality working.
Here's the code:
Attach Code
function hitButton(btn) { btn.onRollOver = function() { this.colorTo (0xC4006A);
I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. I've made a movieclip with animation of the menu opening up and closing, but I can't seem to work out how I'd go about making the movieclip open and close properly.
I am facing a scenario where I would like the user of my page record their voices from their login where they will purchase certain minutes for recording and as well as for listening. How do I manage the audio frames sent back to the server? Is that possible to only stream audio for a length of 10 minutes, while actual length of audio is 1 hour?
Questions: - Do I have to write or develop a flash player completely? - Is there any already developed solution? - Do I have to use Media Server in this scenario
I have a file with a main movie clip called "clip" and inside that I have a couple separate movie clips. One of them has embedded audio and is called "trackPiano". I want to put an action on a keyframe so that when that keyframe is reached, the audio mutes. I think I should be able to use the soundTransform property, but I'm not sure how to go about implementing it.
Also, I'd like to then un-mute the audio for that mc when I go to another specific keyframe.
I've a flash AS3 based application that provides option to play/pause/record FLV files from flash media server. These files are only audio files. Now, I want to add a new functionality of inserting audio at a specific location.Like if the already recorded file is of five minutes duration, and I want to record 1 minute audio after third minute, the end result should be a six minute file with the new audio added from 3rd to 4th minute.
Is it possible to link to a spacific "page" within a flash site much like you can do with a html web site? I want to be able to link to a spacific swf page within my site without going through the entire site to get to the "page" how do I do this using actionscript 2.0
Because on some connections this can take quite some time, I want a link to appear after a specififc amount of time, say 10 seconds? Kind of like a, "loading too slow? Click here for whatever."
how to accomplish this within this loading code and frame?
I currently have a flv running on my home page which is about 5 minutes long. I am wanting to insert 'quick links' to specific times within the flv so that people do not have to watch it all they can quickly just click the lick and the flv will jump to that point.

This is really confusing (the title of this thread probably doesn't make any sense at this point), and I'm not actually quite sure what I'm trying to do is possible, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
Basically, I have created a speaker-looking button (speakerON_btn) that plays the audio in Flash. It works fine -- starts automatically and stops when it's at the end or when somebody clicks on it.
Then, I put this Flash file into an HTML... works good. However, on this HTML page, I also have a PDF link (that links to what the audio is discussing). I have been asked to stop the audio when the user clicks on the PDF to open it. I don't want the PDF to open in the same window, so I can't use that as a method to stop the audio.
Is there any ActionScript I can add to the Audio Flash file that will tell it to stop when a user clicks on a link outside of Flash?
Also, if the above is impossible, would it be possible to add ActionScript to stop the audio if I were to build the entire HTML page as a Flash file? If that's a possibility, what ActionScript would need to be added to the my speakerON_btn?
Following this tutorial: http:[url].....But I keep getting this error message:1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: CuePointEvent.
how to sync to mpr3 audio files at specific points?
I was wondering how can I make my links in Flash readable for browsers? In other words, to be able to provide link to specific section of my website. For illustration, take a look at Jenson Button's website:The link above points to the "News" section, although the site is in flash.
What I need is a code that sends the user to a speacific page, everytime that button is clicked. The way I have been trying to do this (which may be wrong) is to set up each page on a different keyframe in the timeline (with stop actions on each one) - surely its now just a matter of adding an action to link each button to their page?
I am able to pass a variable from an html link that loads a separate html file and instructs the swf embedded file to go to a specific frame. But - I now need a link within an swf file on one page to open a new page and tell that swf to start on a specific frame and it is not working. Here is the code I use for the first example - works like a champ:
