Professional :: JSFL Function ExportPNG Failing With "bitmap Too Large" Error

Jul 14, 2010

I'm trying to export to PNG from the JSFL document.exportPNG function with 'bCurrentPNGSettings' but it fails. Flash keeps complaining that "The bitmap is too large. The largest bitmap that can be created is 8000x800 pixels."The width x height of the document is set to 1920x1080 and I've tried modifying the publish profile appropriately.Still no-dice. If I set 'bCurrentPNGSettings' to false so that the export dialog appears it pops up with the correct width and height; clicking OK exports properly.

Flash - Tween Large Bitmap Without Lag?

Jan 24, 2012

I'm using a 3800x3000 bitmap as a background of a game.

Now, I first show the whole bitmap - the landscape -, and than zoom in at the characters. I'm using TweenMax from GreenSock, but even with this advanced tween class my bitmap doesn't move and scale smooth.

I'd like to work with smaller bitmaps too and scale them, but than I'll lose the quality, and I can't blur the bitmap to hide the quality loss, since there's a terrain in the bitmap too, and I don't want to blur that.

ActionScript 3.0 :: One Large Bitmap, Or A A Few Smaller Ones?

Dec 30, 2010

Let's say I have some background made up of 4,000 small vector images (doesn't matter what they are, say flowers or stars or something). Once this background is set, these small items won't move or animate. The background will stay the same. What I would do, rather than keep 4,000 sprites on the stage, I would create one single background "Bitmap" which has all the sprites drawn onto it once.Is this still a good idea if that Bitmap is so large it covers the entire stage (which may be quite large for larger monitors if using NO_SCALE and fullscreen or something), or is it better to break that large Bitmap into 4 or more smaller ones placed seamlessly alongside eachother to seem like a large one?

ActionScript 3.0 :: FireFox / IE / Chrome Speed On Large Bitmap

Jan 29, 2010

I have a project that is drawing ~10,000 small tiles into one large bitmap container - it's a mosaic... In Flash proper and in FireFox it takes about 20 seconds to complete the drawing. In Chrome it takes about 1:30 and in IE it takes roughly 3:00 - both too slow to be acceptable to the client - who of course reviewed with IE...

I have Flash set to run at 45 fps - and the images are populated by a Timer - at 2 ms intervals... Maybe 2 ms is too fast? But in my testing 1ms was slower as was 3ms... so I kept at 2. And works fine in FF and Flash...

ActionScript 1/2 :: Create A Single Large Bitmap Data At Run Time?

Feb 8, 2010

Requirement: Create single very large bitmap data which contain some 30 PNG images loaded and for each image it should have some text.  Images and text are loaded dynamically (AS2 code. Images are stored in a remote server). The bitmap data display should show 8 images at a time and corresponding text. We can see rest content by scrolling (kinetic scroll is implemented). How can I go for it?Some questions:Is there any limit for size of bitmap data ( As per link there is restriction on the height of the bitmap we can create in AS2 (max value is 2880 which is not enough for some 30 element list If we create individual bitmap data for 30 individual PNG files, we find some jerks in scroll. How can we have smooth scrolling?

Professional :: BitmapData / GetPixel Mystery - Works Perfectly On Local, Failing When Uploaded?

Dec 13, 2010

I'm working with a video in Flash where I am capturing each frame and testing the color of a single pixel. I'm using it to determine when a white/transparent background changes to be a color. The following AS2 code works flawlessly when I preview it in Flash and on my desktop in the browser (the direct SWF and placed inside HTML using SWFObject) but as soon as I upload it to my server it fails and produces "FFFFFF" continuously regardless.

this.onEnterFrame = function()[code]..........

There is no difference in the files; they are both pulling from the same video source (hosted on an Flash FLV server). The only difference is one set of files is hosted on my local computer and the other is hosted on my web server.

Professional :: Create A JSFL Command To Select Each Of The 10 Symbols On The Stage??

Mar 6, 2011

I don't really know that much about Commands in Flash, but I was thinking this could be a possible Command to create.See, I have this puppet made up of dozens of separate pieces, all on their own layers. It's very tedious to click on 10 different symbols in order to move the character's arm, for example.I was wondering if there was a way to create a JSFL command to select each of the 10 symbols on the stage.

I tried clicking each one, and saving the "Change Selection" actions from the History Panel as a Command, but that is location-based.As soon as I move those symbols to a new location, the command I saved no longer selects them. And I can't select the objects by layer or frame, because it doesn't seem to want to save those either.

Professional :: CS5.5 JSFL: Timeline.convertToKeyframes() Doesn't Work With Motion Tweens

Oct 26, 2011

I'm writing a JSFL script to export animations from Flash. I iterate through every frame in the timeline, and for each frame I go through every element in every layer, and write each Element's symbol name and matrix values out to a file. The problem is, if you've created animation using a motion tween, the exporter steps through every frame but sees the same matrix values for each Element in every frame. This is where I hit the first problem: Iterating through the timeline in this way doesn't seem to work. I can't see any way of getting the right information out for each frame.

There is a workaround: Namely, selecting all the animated layers on the timeline, and selecting "Convert to Frame by Frame animation" from the context menu. Then you run the exporter, and then you have to undo the "Convert to Frame by Frame" animation in order to continue working on the file. That's pretty messy, so I tried to automate the process, by having the export script perform the convert to frame by frame. When you perform the action, and look it up in the History window, Flash tells you that the JSFL command it used was the following:

I am preparing a navigation (using panning) movie in Flash. There is very big (6000x4000) image (area photo from top) on the stage and it's position moves once user moves his mouse. Thus, user can navigate on the area. But flash really drives me insane while working on this movie. It usually suddenly stops and quits with error.I'd like to ask what can i do? should i use a different method???It seems, Adobe becomes stupid on large files and there are bugs in somewhere Flash. For example; how can i use a method like Google Maps (it loads an another image when you move another position. Not loads all images together and doesnt consumpt large amount of resources.)?

Professional :: Bug When Exporting Large Images

I found this bug in Flash 8, so I just downloaded CS5.5 trial and I see the same problem. When I increase the image export resolution to get a larger image, at one point the lower section of the image became white (the image has the appropriate size but the content is not rendered in the lower section). As bigger is the image, larger is the white fraction. The amount of useful pixels always stay around 10 or 13 megapixels. Here some examples:Original image was 3375x6710 pixels in the left one and 2625x5219 en the right one.
