Recently, I uploaded the flashmo_212_mp3 player to my site in hopes to have a player. When I put the player into my timeline, for the specific keyframe I run into problems. When I go to publish my site (this is in flash cs4), the site flashes every single page rapidly.What do I need to do to fix this problem?

I have a movie that I exported from PremierePro CS5 into flv format and imported into Flash CS5. It opened a player and I followed the steps with local external video playback component. Fine, it plays in the test movie. I saved and exported to another PC where I want to put the file into a Dreamweaver (CS3) page to upload to our site. The trouble is when I test the file on the other PC, it only opens a blank swf page with no player.
View 3 RepliesI'm in the process of switching from AS 2.0 to AS 3.0, so apologies if this is really obvious.. I am modifying/updating an old template for a client and am inserting customized navigation buttons. One is a play/pause button and I was able to swap the old buttons for the new in the library and show them on the stage with no problems. When I export to swf to preview the movie, the new button just flashes repeatedly between the different "play" and "pause" states (up, over, etc).
I checked to make sure I didn't change any names of the buttons or movie clips. I tried inserting stop(); but it doesn't work...probably because I'm not putting it in the right spot. When I select the button, it has "up, over, down, hit" in the Timeline and says the selection can't have any actions applied to it.
I've built a drag and drop project with 9 elements in Flash CS5 using AS 3.0. Using code from an AS3.0 4 element drg&drp tutorial (which worked) I copy/pasted the code into the new project, renamed graphics in AS where necessary and added the additional code required to accomodate the additional graphics.When playing the test I get no errors however the first logo (element) and it's invisable target just flash on and off 11 times, then I see a frame of the whole project (for 1 frame) and then the cycle repeats.
I've double checked all naming conventions and everything is correct between movie clips and code. I've even simplified the code to just 1 element to see if I could track down where the problem starts and I get the same thing. The strange thing (to me anyway) is if I change the name of element to be dragged/dropped (in the code) to a different element on the stage I still get same original graphic flashing. So I don't think it's the code at all I think there is some weirdness in the graphic setup.
I am embedding my swf file using SWFobject but I get a white box flashing before the swf file loads. I had tried all suggestions but I still have the problem.
The Flash file and the browser background color is the same. Any new ideas on how to fix this. I am a casual AS3 programmer, I just learned to be able to do my own website.

I am having the same problem as a lot of other folks. I have searched through this and other forums and nobody seems to have an answer - at least I can't find one. The set up is this: I tried to view a video - received a message that I need to download the latest version of Flash Player - did so and everything seemed normal - tried the video again and got the same message. I have tried everything suggested on the official Flash Support page as well as this and several other forums and nothing changes.
I haven't seed this tidbit in other threads and it is probably worth noting that when I go to the page on the Adobe site where you can check which version is installed - it says no version is installed even though it apears normally in the Programs and Features window and can be removed from there. Off-the-shelf version of Windows 7 Home Premium , 32 bit running on an HP Pavillion Notebook. No problems with Flash Player unitl 3 days ago.
I have Windows 7 64-bit running on a Dell Studio 1558 with Internet Explorer 9 32-bit. Adobe FlashPlayer 10.3.181.14 is installed. All was fine (i.e., videos played well; e-cards displayed well) up until a few days ago. Now, videos won't play (the screen remains black) and e-greeting cards won't open. I have re-installed FlashPlayer several times. Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.

I also presume the fps of the movie clip if taken to another file should be the same as that file, one cannot have movie clips of different fps in one file, am I right ?

Which implementation is running here: [URL] I have Vista Bussines SP2 but problem also exists on Windows 7 Home Premium. On IE 32 bit the capture image is flickering on my moves. This is very annoing. I compile my project with additional settings: -swf-version=12 -target-player=11.0 On for example Firefox this work much better but problem also exists. And external library is set to newest playerglobal.swc downloaded from Flash Adobe download site.

If I publish the file locally the cursors are there, I made a few different fla's with test buttons to make sure and they all do the same thing. The publishing settings are set for 10.2 , this seems to have happened once I got the new Flash player 11.3.

Adobe Flash playaer 10 works with Chrome but when I try to use it in Internet Explorer it says I do not have it installed but I do.

View 1 RepliesI want to rapidly load an image over and over again. Basically it's from a security camera that has a web server running. on it, and it stores the current image in a file called now.jpg. I can do this from AS2 fairly easily as I can just keep calling a loadMovie() on the image, replacing the old one. At one point, I had what looked like 15fps going with that. BUT, with AS3, I can't seem to get this going very fast at all. It takes at least a second to load each image. I am using the code attached to do this. It uses an interval to load, but could be done through other methods. I can run the video out of the security cam into a converter and bring it in USB with the Video() and Camera() classes, but that only gives me 640x480. The camera is actually able to generate 1280x1024 images, which is what I am loading with my AS2 code. So,any ideas as to rapidly load these images? The web server on the camera can display a live image by using javascript to keep loading the image. There must be a way to do it in AS3 if it can be done in AS2 and javascript.

I have a slight problem when publishing to Flash Player 7 but works perfectly in Flash Player 6, below is the code:[code]In short this creates a list where the values are kept in SharedObject.I need to use a WebService so I require Flash Player 7, as I said this works as expected in Flash Player 6, so maybe someone may know a pitfall or two when migrating code form 6 to 7?

View 4 RepliesI'm on a laptop and for the past day or so I downloaded adobe flash about 10 times and it doesnt seem to work. whenever I try to watch something or have a flash ad on a website, I get a message that says "install missing plugins". I click on it, and it takes me to the flash download page but it doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with this, but it says by the installation instructions that I would need to press "run", I only have an option to save the file.

I'm trying to make Flash automatically focus on an input textfield (not the TextInput component object, but a textfield object with type set to input) when the user enters the page. I want it so they can type straight away without actually having to click inside the textfield. Previously in AS 2.0 you could use Selection.setFocus("textfield_txt"); but in AS3 is it possible?

Now, as the tweening ends for the movieclip to actually appear (I set the _alpha to 0 as he's been created and change the value to 100 with a tween), I call a function for setting the focus on the first input text field:

Where 'namex' is the istance name of the input text field. The getFocus trace returns positive, so the focus is there but ... there is no flashing bar within the field. If I write something, the text appears in the right text field and the flashing bar appears. I can't get why there is no flashing bar without typing anything, even if the focus is set.
I want the user to know the text input box is inputable, how can I add the text cursor to the box?

How can I confirm that?
For example if I make a simple application on Fx3 and the same on Fx4, then how would I compare the compiler performance using my project?
I am building a site, and I used the script assist to make links (on release) and the links won't work, i click on them and nothing happens. Do you think this is a coding problem or a flash player problem.
View 10 RepliesFrom time to time the letter keys in my flash player stop working. They work ONLY if I hold down CTRL at the same time. It's really annoying, because some flash content I like to use requires typing, and this weirdness doesn't change if I restart the browser or the computer altogether. It is some general setting too, because when this happens NONE of the flash windows will take any letters.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to put a mp3 player on my web page and it should work on iPad. So, I learned iPad doesn't support Flash. However, apparently partly it does. I couldn't find the information on this. How is it possible: [URL]. That is a mp3 player working on iPad (when browsing on Safari). However, it uses audiojs.swf (1644 bytes) and without that it doesn't work at all. How can iPad use the swf if Flash is not supported? What is another good free mp3 audio player that works on iPad.
