I'm working on a dress up game and I have one problem with it. There are so many items of clothing (which are movie clips with the basic drag and drop code) that I had to create different pages for them. I have buttons (labeled like "dresses", "pants" etc) that when clicked on make that group of items appear. So, great. It's just that once an item has been dragged over to the doll and put in place, I want it to STAY there. But as soon as you click on a different page, that item disappears. Is there any way to make items stay on the doll, even though they're part of a page?

I have a document which is basically a catalogue page, and I'm trying to make it so that when you click on an image, a movieclip of the image fading in larger appears, so it will look essentially like it's been zoomed in. To do this I put the movieclip inside a button. I have the button working fine, when you click it, it does exactly what it's supposed to, but I have no idea how to set it so that when the button is clicked it stays in the 'down' position, so you don't have to hold the mouse down. And also how to get back to the main screen afterwards, since the movie does take up the entire stage when played. Is it possible to do this?

This might be trying to be too tricky, but I have a set of keyframes on the timeline that correspond to the buttons on my xml drop down. When I am on a particular frame, I want the button for that frame and the mainItem button that it drops down from to have some sort of highlight or extra glow. This is meant to be so that a user can see where they are in the project at any time. All the code is included in my previous posts on xml drop down menu..
I can find the buttons by checking if they have certain text on them, so now I want to
1) Set a variable on each keyframe
var a:String="page1";
and then have some code that says
if(a=="page 1")....[go and get the button] e.currentTarget.menuText.text=="Questions" [and do something to it ]<-- except it wont be the current target it will just be out there with that text on it..

I have a site with a common SWF embedded at the top of each page, and then regurlar graphic/text HTML content below it.I was anticipating that the SWF might have a bit of a delay for it to load, and that the rest of the page would be appearing pretty much right away... and that DOES happen from time to time.
However, the one thing I wasn't expecting, and don't quite understand, is that sometimes the SWF will appear first and even start playing, yet the rest of the page doesn't appear for a second or two, so I end up with this SWF movie floating in black.
Not entirely sure what is holding the page back, since most of the graphics are shared/common on each page. There are some embedded videos (with poster frames, so they shouldn't take too long to load) on some pages, which are probably the culprits.
What I don't get (besides how to further optimize the pages), is why the SWF appears and plays, if it is an element within the table that contains all the content of the page. I thought that tables only display once EVERYTHING in it is loaded... So, why would the SWF appear before the other elements are ready? I'm assuming the other (non-common) elements are not finished downloading... although I'm starting to suspect that maybe they are, and the delay is something else... like the embedded QT's 'initializing' or something?

I'm planning to add a page to my site that would have sample music from a variety of artists. There would be several sentances about the musician, then a free Flash mp3 player I'm using. I'm planning at least a dozen of these on the page. I didn't anticipate any problems, but a page where I had done something similar suddenly stopped working. Nothing I've tried will fix it. I don't want to go ahead until I find out if there are details I need to know about having multiple Flash objects on a page. I have a website with a very simple code that gives all the buttons in the menu an animated rollover and rollout state. When the buttons are clicked, I have a movie clip with all the content which goes to a specific frame label depending on which button is clicked. Very simple, no problems there. But what I can't figure out how to do, is to add a variable so that when each button is clicked, it stays in the over state until another button is clicked (at which point I'd like it to go to the out state, while the new button would go to the over state.)I found several examples of codes that do this, but I can't figure out how to modify them so that when a button is clicked, it also goes to a specific frame label in the content movie clip, so that the content for each section can be displayed the same way is in the original version.[code]

I am making a widget in AS3, looks like a equalizer.
I'm having the problem when swf reloads, everything will reset. Is there a way to keep this from happening. I was thinking maybe XML.
I am thinking as the user scrubs it is writing the XY coordinate to the xml doc but i dont think that can work because the xml doc would then haft to be saved.
Any thoughts on what key words I need to search for in the net.

I'm trying to figure out how to get my logo to stay at the bottom right of the page all the time. I used Stage.align and onResize but the problem is that my logo ony aligns when you go to resize the window, and it "jumps" into place. I want it to pop up in the bottom right and then stay there, regardless of the window size. You can view it at This is my code:

I have a demo website consist of 3 pages.
1) Home_mc
2) Safety_mc
3) Portfolio_mc
The second page Safety_mc has some external links to .pdf & .jpg files. When I am on Safety_mc page and click a link it opens a pdf file in same window it is fine. But when I click on back button on web browser, it takes me to Home_mc instead of Safety_mc. How to resolve this problem?

I've embeded my swf file in .net application and after navigating to some pages in swf file and pressing f5 or refresh, its navigating to starting page of swf file and browsers path always shows the same path (main.aspx page) in which I am embedding the swf file. After navigating to some pages in swf file also it shows the sam path. So its refreshing the aspx page and giving the starting page. How can I control the browser to stay in current page of swf file.

I am creating an interactive map. It has little bullets that, when you hover over them, display a short description of the room and a link to another page. What I am trying to do is make it so that the user can hover off of the bullet, and onto the link to the seperate page, without the link and description disappearing because of leaving the bullet's "hit" area.
Do I have to define another hit area for the description and link somehow?

I have this Movie Clip Drop-Down Menu, which has a button inside (Overview) that turns red when you roll over it ... When the Drop-Down Menus sub-buttons are clicked, the movie jumps to a frame labeled "WhoWeAre" or "OurMission"... When it lands on either frame, I want the word "Overview" to remain red, indicating that you are now in that section.
Can actionscript be written so that the "Over" state inside a button remains on once it reaches a new frame? I currently achieved this with a dirty hack, creating an ADDITIONAL menu with just the word "Overview" in red on the "Up" state, but it screws things up and the sub-buttons don't work once I reach either of the new frames for some reason.

I'm making a roll over flash file, it contains 3 roll over buttons on the left panel and each brings up a piece of unique text. What i'm having problems with is getting one of the buttons to stay up when the webpage loads but then changes if you choose another roll over button. Also i want the text for each button to stay up if i leave the button roll over area but it changes to the other if a different roll over button is hit.

i've made some buttons that on mouseover shows a larger picture above the button. when the cursor leaves that button though the picture disappears until the user mouses over the button again. is there a way to ensure that the picture stays up until the user mouses over another button (then they would see another image)?

i'm generating a horizontally scrolling image gallery and i want audio cues to fade in & out as well as pan with the images.so as the image enters frame left and moves towards center frame, volume increases, pan moves from 100% left to center.as image passes and leaves frame left, volume decreases, pan moves from center to 100% right.i have not worked with sound in flash in this way before & extensive searching hasn't returned any results!

I created a banner with 9 in and out fading pictures. Also the navigation buttons are located in this banner. When I click on the navigation buttons in the banner and the next page is loaded, the banner starts playing at picture 1 again. Same goes for the navigation outside the banner. Is it possible to make the banner continue when you go to the nexte page? So when I click on a button while picture nmbr3 is showing and I get the next page it still is on picture nmbr 3 and not starting at picture nmbr 1 again.
