Professional :: Some Text Appears To Be One Font In One Computer, But A Different Font In Another Computer?

The navigation buttons in my .fla file are set to the font, Arial MT in Bold. It displays no problem on my desktop computer. However, when I view the website on my laptops, the font changes to what looks to be something like Times New Roman. The same thing happens with my "Read More" button text. It's also originally in Arial MT Bold. On my desktop it appears fine but on my 2 laptops it appears to be in Times New Roman. This is more of an issue because I have these buttons underlined. When viewing in my laptops, these underlines appear to be too long. If I shorten it, it'll probably appear to be too short when I view on my desktop. How can I get the font to be one consistent font for all computers?
I am using sifr 2.0.7 and here's the deal. The sifr is working (I can see it in the DOM) however, the font is wrong.It doesn't pick up my swf font (DIN) unless you have it installed on your computer?The css font style is: HelveticaNeue which is what the sifr seems to render if you don't have DIN installed.I see it on my computer but my friend see DIN.
I embedded some characters using embed tag in flash CS3(font.swf). 2 separate swf(a.swf,b.swf) loads the font.swf on runtime. These 2 swf are being called from a container(parent) swf. It looks find locally and not time consuming to load. But when I view it from a server, computer lags after a while....(all file sizes are relatively small.around 160kb). What needs to be done in order to prevent computer from lagging? Is it better to load font.swf not in separate swf but directly in container(parent).swf?
Why do the dynamic text font size appears smaller than what I specified in the flash dynamic text properties? I used a font size of 50 for the dynamic text and when I test movie, it appears to be only a font size of 12. Why is it so?
I have built a website in FLASH CS4 (version 10). The website runs perfectly on my MAC core 8 but when I view it on either of my laptops (both are also Macs couple months old) the main title of the site + the on/off for the music appears in a completely different font and one word of the title disappears.I have tried turning the title to a button and to a movie and kept it as text and nothing makes a difference..

While creating one photo gallery I am facing one problem in controlling the Font Color, Font Size and other characteristics of a text loaded into a text field from an XML File. The name of the text field in question is �my_txt� it loads the title from the xml file attached herewith. how I can control the behavior of the text loaded in that text field.
I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.
I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.

I bought a text scroller flash file and am now trying to tailor it to my needs.URL...It is composed of several movieclips which link to the an external text file. The external file starts off with this mytext= <font color="#000000" size="7">BACKGROUND</font> This file determines the size and color of the font but does not define the actual font itself, it also contains the content. There is a movieclip within the flash file where you can denote a device font or embed a font from the properties panel.Starting off I simply picked my font from the properties panel and used "anti-alias for animation". This seemed to work fine on the Flash preview and also once published online. However, once I used another computer to view my site the font changed and reverted to a default. This leads me to believe the font is linked to each computers font library. I am wondering if there is a way to override this and to link the font to a place on my server?I also tried to embed my font via the properties panel but it looks warped and unrecognizable, so thats out. I am working on this cd-rom and have just reached testing stage for part 1 (of 5). There are lots of interactive activities, video and animations. For the activities, I dont know if I am just too tired but there seems to be items which are visible on my .swf on my computer that sometimes are visible and sometimes are not visible on the cd-rom, also in testing yesterday there sere some activities that seemed to not be working correctly (Althought they perform fine on the desktop version, on a reset of the cd-rom they then seemed to work. Is there anything that I need to take into account for the code being read off a CD to make it more bullet proof? I am stressing out a bit at the Unknown factor- I cannot continue to produce this resource if I cannot guarantee how it will perform in real life?
Im using a standard font (Gotham rounded) within a dynamic text field. As soon as I embed the numerals within this text field the text lowers within the text field.Double clicking the field then renders the text higher up! It seems that the height it shows when I double click is the height it compiles atThe other strange and annoying thing is that my colleague working on the same project is using the exact same font and same file but this doesnt happen to him and so the font redners out differently when he compiles
So, I have some basic actionscript code. It's a legacy site, so I'm using AS2. The line of code simply does this:
myField.text = "some text"
So, I select the text field on the stage, then ensure the font is embedded. All the glyphs I want are checked, but then when I compile and test, the fonts don't show up when the code is executed. Instead, the textfield is blank! What happened?! Where did the text go?
I should mention that the .swf which I compile is loaded into another parent .swf during runtime. If that parent .swf does not contain embedded fonts, is that why it's broken?
It's what this image describes:For some reason, I cannot use bold tags to set the TLF text to bold, even though both the regular and bold fonts are embedded.so that the webpage that embeds this movie can call its function (otherwise the movie itself will be wrapped by TLF).his is not exactly a question since there is an obvious solution to this. Just set the htmlText as something like "<font face='Myriad Web Pro'><b>BOLD</b></font>" and you're done.hs issue is, why does it not render the bold text without the font tag in the first place, if I have already set the font of the TLF text in the PI?
