What do I have to do to transfer a flash video to another computer. I published HTML to my usb stick and installed on another computer. When I run the file, the buttons dont work. All they do is flash. When the file is on my original computer, everything works fine.

I have everything in the same folder, I have added the mime types on the server, and it still don't work.

View 1 RepliesThe navigation buttons in my .fla file are set to the font, Arial MT in Bold. It displays no problem on my desktop computer. However, when I view the website on my laptops, the font changes to what looks to be something like Times New Roman. The same thing happens with my "Read More" button text. It's also originally in Arial MT Bold. On my desktop it appears fine but on my 2 laptops it appears to be in Times New Roman. This is more of an issue because I have these buttons underlined. When viewing in my laptops, these underlines appear to be too long. If I shorten it, it'll probably appear to be too short when I view on my desktop. How can I get the font to be one consistent font for all computers?

I try to create a flash menu; where every button on the screen operates as a simple getUrl() link. Because of this, I have taken the following steps:- Create new document.- Create a symbol on the canvas.- convert is into a button Symbol- Double Click the button and adding events for up, down, over by clicking F6 on each frame.- back in scene one, I right click the button and open the Action panel- Adding the Script: "on release { getUrl('index.html'}- Press ctrl + enter to test the move ! ( index.html exists in the same folder as the flash file.)

I'd like to note that my actionscript is a direct copy/paste from the Adobe online reference for actionscript 2 (with a change to the php path, of course).I upload everything and visit the page with the flash button in it.When I click the button, I am taken to the .php page as expected, but the only thing I get on my screen is "...and that's all I've got."

View 21 RepliesI would like to know if it's possible for flash to stream it's webcam directly to another computer without a flash media server in the middle, I want to build a highly scalable video system which basically logs people into the site, records their ip address and then when someone wants to chat to that person, connect the output from the webcam to the input of the flash video player and vice versa. The idea being that they basically plug together, rather than a huge, expensive, bandwidth hungry server in the middle. Is it possible? I heard that flash can talk binary directly to sockets now, could this be a solution?

View 5 RepliesI am working on this cd-rom and have just reached testing stage for part 1 (of 5). There are lots of interactive activities, video and animations. For the activities, I dont know if I am just too tired but there seems to be items which are visible on my .swf on my computer that sometimes are visible and sometimes are not visible on the cd-rom, also in testing yesterday there sere some activities that seemed to not be working correctly (Althought they perform fine on the desktop version, on a reset of the cd-rom they then seemed to work. Is there anything that I need to take into account for the code being read off a CD to make it more bullet proof? I am stressing out a bit at the Unknown factor- I cannot continue to produce this resource if I cannot guarantee how it will perform in real life?
View 5 RepliesI'm having trouble with my computer and the latest version of Flash. What happens is that everytime i get in contact with a flash-based media on the internet (Youtube, banners, games, etc.) my computer freezes and after 15 seconds it starts 'melting', as in the pixels slowly turning blue and black. This happened right after i installed the latest version of Flash. I have to take the battery out of the computer to get it working, which is offcourse not healthy.
Does anybody have an idea what this is due to and how it can be fixed? I am pretty desperate.
I'm running Vista, 32 bit, and the latest version of Firefox. Any time I enlarge a video I'm watching on a website that uses the Flash Player, (youtube and others) to full screen, the computer eventually locks up. The video continues normally, but hitting escape does nothing to reduce the video back to the smaller size. I then hit CTRL ALT DEL and still nothing changes. The mouse can't move the cursor, hitting tab doesn't work, nothing.
I've tried uninstalling the Flash Player using the offline uninstaller, and reinstalling the latest Flash Player using the offline installer. I've gone to the Flash "about" page after each of those 2 actions to make sure that Flash is completely uninstalled, and reinstalled. I've also run CCleaner after uninstalling Flash Player just to make sure no registry entries, etc. remained.

When I test the video it makes it in swf form and I'd rather not convert it any further and mess up it's quality.Is it possible to view the video in work space while animating symbols over it (I kinda did it by heart)?
