Oct 4, 2011I'm tweaking a flash website for a freind and he wants to have some videos play from a page. There are 25 files and ideally I want to achieve the 'Lightbox' look so that the browser window dims and the video plays over the top. After looking around I haven't found any easy solutions.What is the best way to achieve this, bearing in mind I shall have all these buttons on a page and want to have the video 'float' on top of the actual site?I'm relatively new to this although a long standing flash user when it comes to animation etc - not great on scripting.

Dec 4, 2011I am using AS2 in CS5.5.I am creating a project for a class that introduced me to adobe flash. The issue is I have gotten to a certain point about 15 scenes. During say the 15th scene scrolling through the timeline animations works fine, playing it on test scene works fine. When I go to play it on test movie it stops at a certain point. At first I thought it might have been a misplaced stop action but there is none to be found. The weird part is every other scene I create after that continues to freeze as well, the images are there, but the animations won't play. All my previous animations play before those with the issue, it's justThese new ones won't play for some reason in test movie, but work completely fine in test scene and the timeline.

Dec 6, 2011ok so i have a button that plays an animation for fire when held down. and when realsed goes to and stops and frame one. when it reaches the end of the time line it goes to and plays at frame 10 and goes back to the end of the timeline. I have a sound for the fire animation that plays for the effect. The problem is the sound keeps going untill its over even if the button isnt held down. and when the playhead reaches the end of the timeline it goes to and plays and frame 10 and it replays the sound. if i hold it down it will just keep playing the sound over and over from start to finish. what i want it to do it when i hold the button down i want it to play the sound and when released it stops the sound where ever it is at. I also dont the sound to play again if there is a sound already going to stop it from playing 20 sounds at one time it gets loud and you need asprin after about 5 seconds of that.

Apr 29, 2011I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?
And what would be the code if I wanted to reduce the volume at 50% for example but have the video play automaticly?
Professional :: Get Flash To Stop Playing Audio When Previewing While Working?
Nov 25, 2011For a class project I have to make kinetic typography and so I need text to go along with some audio from a movie (in Flash). Every time I press enter to preview what I've done and what I have to do next, the audio starts and doesn't stop till it's done and this is a little over a minute long, and it's really annoying. If I don't start from the first keyframe, I can't even hear the audio, it doesn't play if I play from the middle. How do I press enter to play and have it stop when I press enter again? I can load the swf by CTRL+ENTER but then I can't see what frame I'm on and what frame I want. :|

Each movie clip has three buttons that when clicked plays, pauses or stops a sound clip.When I press any of the sound clip play buttons that sound starts playing, the problem is when I click any of the other sound clip play buttons those sounds also start to play. Is there a way I can disable the other sound clip buttons while the current sound is playing then enable all of the buttons when the current sound has stopped.

May 6, 2009I'm making a project in Flash at college and when I view my project and click on a few tabs the sound from the videos starts playing and I can't get it to stop. Jan 31, 2011I have a Flash based application that loads youtube videos using the YouTube API. Recently some videos that have previously played have stopped playing. When I click through to the YouTube site using the embedded Youtube link there is no indication as to why they should not play, for example removed content, not embeddable etc. Have there been any recent changes to youtube API that would result in this behaviour. It seems random to me and I cant find any pattern, or reason why this should be.

The site is using basic HTML, but needs to be able to play FLV or MP4 videos. There are many video players that work online, but getting a player to work on the users machine is more problematic. Every one I have tried either doesn't work or shows a message about adding the flash movie to my trusted files in flash player.[code]Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Oct 3, 2009So I made a few buttons with sounds within them and when I publish it they work just fine. But what I want them to do is;
Say I click a Button.The sound starts playing.Then I click it again, before the sounds done playing.I want it to stop the playing sound and start playing the button I just clicked on, whether it be the same button, or a different one.Right now it just ends up sounds like an echo because it'll play it as many times as you click it.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Adding Videos To Timelines And Playing Them?
Apr 20, 2010I created 5 swfs (simple animations) and want to "somehow" thread them together to play one after the other inside the timeline of a new Flash Document. I was hoping to import each swf, have "movie 1" play, stop, have "movie 2" play, stop and so on until the 5th "movie plays out then stops (no looping necessary).
I've been playing with timeline actions for 2 days and can't figure how to lead one to the other. I've been using Action Script 2 so far but please get me back to Kansas with this. I'll use Action 3 if I have to.

The only issue I'm running into is that in IE6 the video keeps playing and in other browsers it stops the video your watching and loads the one you clicked on. Apr 24, 2010On my website, I want my user to be able to launch video 2 at any point in the middle of video 1 without waiting or refreshing the window. How can I buffer the two videos such that I buffer video 1 enough to let it start playing, and then buffer just enough of video 2 that if the user launches it at any point, he does not have to wait to view its first few seconds, and then I can come back and buffer the rest of video 1? If this is not possible, I could also look at buffering video 1 and 2 in parallel while playing only video 1.

Oct 1, 2010I'm having an incredibly annoying problem with Flash CS5 on my Mac that is making the software absolutely unusable.
If I open a previously worked on file and start deleting layers and moving keyframes, the screen never redraws the interface. As in, if I delete a layer, I don't actually see it go away. It's still there in the interface. Minimizing/maximizing does nothing to refresh the interface.

It's not related to a specific user action. When this happens, closing flash is difficult (the window remains here). When switching to another app, some Flash parts remains The graphical memory seems saturated. Launching another app is met with a window error message. A windows restarts becomes necessary.This problem arises only in Flash, and with no other apps from CS3 suite.2 colleagues of mine has the same issue, also in the last weeks (= nov 2010). We work in separate places.
