When I click on a field to edit, the | symbol that allows you to type new text (for example, a timeline folder's name) disappears as quickly as it appears, therefore no way to edit anything.

My problem is when I load the textfile and the swf on my host, the text doesnt appear. I have a files that is loading and parsing a huge amount of data from a csv file and creating and plotting a graph using the data. All is well if I have the file loaded on the first frame of the movie. But if I pass in the URL by entering the file name in a text input field and clicking a button. The X and Y axis values disappear as do intermittent notes placed above the bar graph. I still see the x and y axis and it's hash marks and the bar graph (shapes) but all of the text is gone.

This is what happened. after i open up any type of document like an actionscript 3.0 document or anything, if i draw with the paint brush as soon as i let go of the mouse button the line disappears. If i go into the timeline and click on the frame it shows up again, but if i draw again it disappears and i have to click on the frame to see it.

The problem is when I click on the box to go into the wood grain texture, I want to be able to click on the X box that appears in order to go back to frame 42 in the main timeline. (the x is currently only on the box with the 1 on it.)
I have a movie clip symbol that is about 8 frames long. I am staggering it 14 times throughout scene one, with varying times.My problem is that it plays once then disappears (I added actionscript on the last frame in the symbol movie clip). I would like it to play then keep the last frame displayed in scene one until a specific keyframe (60). Not have the movie clip instance loop, rather show the image that is on its last frame.

View 7 RepliesI have a photoGallery.swf, with an xml-generated menu.Every link will load a img.swf listed in the xml file.The img.swf is fairly simple: 1 image in the bg, 1 small txt field that loads some external text.My problem = while the img.swf displays correctly when viewed alone, the text disappears when I load it from the photoGallery. Actually, I can even say that I see the text during the glint of an eye, less than a second, when I load the swf from its link in the photoGallery's menu. So I really don't get why it disappears.Another thing, if I run my mouse over the area where the text field is supposed to be I can see the cursor change.[code]
View 2 Repliestried following the Embed Font example here: http:[url].... exactly with absolutely no results.When I add txtField.embedFonts, the text no longer shows up, and without embedFonts, the fonts are just Times New Roman or something. Regardless, the [Embed source="..."] syntax described in the example does not seem to work. Has ANYONE gotten Embed fonts to work in AS 3.0? Second, when I add wordwrap = true to a text field, the text disappears. (it used to work fine. It stopped around when I started trying to embed the fonts, but it doesn't work even if I remove all embed code.)

I don't know if this is supposed to happen or not. Was it ever a headache trying to narrow it down. I can't see why it would be intentional behavior, but here's the issue I've come across when working in Flash CS4:
When I have a dynamic text field on the timeline with an embedded bold font and then add another text field later with the same font with regular style instead of bold, if I try to update the dynamic text field's text, it disappears. I don't get errors when I try updating the text and I can pull the text back out of it, but it's no longer on-screen.
If I never include the second text field, or if it is a different font altogether, everything works like a charm. Also, it doesn't seem to matter if the second text field is static or dynamic.
I've attached an example. In the zip there are 3 files: The FLA, SWF, and Movie Report from Flash.
As it stands, for my project where I ran into this issue, I'm just using the regular instead of the bold style for the dynamic text field.
I have a scrollplane instance onstage that I need to skin, but flash is not allowing me to double click the instance to edit its timeline. Does anyone know why this may be?
View 1 RepliesI'm drawing with Flash's brush tool and the marks I make are appearing not just where I draw them, but also in the timeline or elsewhere on the stage. It goes away if I minimize and restore, but this is a big time-waster.

It seens perfct but I can't see it work. The funny thing is that the custom currentBubble - with a dot after you see the code hints but a dot after pb100 - you see no code hints. Well not normal.

View 2 RepliesFirst project in CS5 upgrading from CS3. I've got a very simple movieclip. A couple of layers of jpgs that pop in, scale up and run to the end of the clip. Two layers of type I have set in Flash and converted to symbols on separate layers. I did an old school tween and set the first frame symbol to an alpha of 0, and the last frame of the tween to 100%. I scrub the playhead and it works fine. I've done this thousands of times in Flash back through Flash 4.
I add the movie clip to the main timeline, give it a little alpha fade in to the main sequences and when I test or Publish the movie, it doesn't render the alpha fade on the type. It's as though the tween isn't there at all the type pops on screen full strength.Everything else works. All the tweened scaling, a couple of other alpha fades on other art symbols, but the type fade doesn't render.
I even went in and re-did the fades as motion effects. Scrub the playhead - looks good.Test or publish, there's nothing.
How do I import a set of images (a folder containing 10 images) into the timeline so that each picture appears in a separate keyframe? When I try to do this, all image seems to appear in a single keyframe. Or maybe this is they way to do it? I want to make a movieclip with 10 pictures showing after each other.

View 1 RepliesI have a pretty long timeline animation to be edited; in CS4 editing the file was no problem, you could scroll through the frames without problems, using CS5 and trying to do the same the app freezes for several seconds and then reacts and performs the last click you did - honestly I can definitely no edit the animation with CS5.Is there any sort of option which may cause this strange/slow behavior?

When the data is loaded into the text field, I dont see the ++. Instead I see space characters. I tried using the escape character , but in vain.
any good tutorial in which visitors can type a simple text in a text field for example, and that text while writing is automatically applied on the background image. And if they want,they can save it on their computer.
