Apr 24, 2011I am a Flash novice who was asked to do a brief training exercise on importing a simple .swf (3D animation) into Flash. However, I cannot figure out how to center the .swf on the Flash stage. Flash always places it in the top left corner of the stage, and while I can center each individual frame of the 50-frame animation by using the align feature in the properties window, I do not know how to center the entire 50-frame clip all at once. Do I have to use ActionScript to do this? And if so, what is the exact code I would need for this, and what exact procedure would I follow?

Aug 22, 2009I have been using Flash for a while Flash 8 and now Flash 9 I dont know too much about the program, someone wrote the program for me and I update it. When ever I publish the Site to upload to my server I have to go into the HTML file and insert <center> twice to get the site to be center on the web.It is not a big deal to edit the HTML file but every time I do it I figure there must be some button i dont have checked in Flash to just do it automatically.Seems like with such a huge and powerful program that must be an option that I am missing.

Feb 10, 2010I used the publish feature of flash but it does not seem to center the SWF in the browser. Why is there a centering feature on the publish settings under HTML tab if it does not center the SWF? It only works if you set Dimensions to Percent but that exposes the area beyond the stage and i don't want it to be seen. In addition that causes some movieclips to be improperly positioned. The Flash Alignment should have been disabled if the Dimensions is not set to Percent. Perhaps a simple script that centers my swf file in a browser..

Feb 27, 2012I have a Flash GUI loading in external SWFs, published as a projector file and the functionality seems to be working perfectly...however, for some inexplicable reason, when I press Ctrl + F to view in fullscreen mode...the stage snaps to the top left corner.[code]just to see what would happen...the result...well, the above code worked...for about a half-a-second...then the main movie (i.e. the stage) snapped right back to the top left corner.

I'm going to post a link that does exactly what I want:This rotates the circular object around a center point in a way that you can distort the object yet is still remains turning in a circular motion A simple motion tween rotating the image will only work if the object is perfectly round, so distorting the object to make it more straight or curved won't work with a simple tween. Dec 8, 2010I am just getting back into using Flash after not using it for about 5 years. I'm having an issue with the simplest thing! I want to be able to type pixel values into the Properties panel to transform/resize an object from the OBJECT CENTER as reference point. If I use the transform tool, it uses the center of the object as the reference. However, if I do as above and type values into the Properties width/height, the object transforms with the top left corner as reference. If I need two or more objects sized exactly the same, or if I want to do a "zoom in" effect, using the transform tool is very ineffecient!
My object seems to be showing that the center is set as the reference point (white circle in center of object). Also, the objects I am working with are jpg's and psd's imported to the library, and made into movie clip symbols.

Dec 6, 2011what i am trying to do is, put a flash frame by frame movie into my flash web site. So i go to the frame by frame movie and hit Edit- Time line - Select all frames. i then hit Edit- Time line - Copy frames. i switch over to my web site, Create a new layer select the layer and hit Edit - Time line - Paste Frames. and the frames i copied are pasted into order and all my symbols are brought into my library. The problem is than when it is pasted its pasted in the upper left hand corner of the page on top of all my other stuff when i select the the frames of the frame by frame movie and move them to the center of the stage.
It seems to work fine but when i test my movie the first frame will be fine and than some stuff goes back to the original pasted spot and some stuff will stay where i moved it to. my question is. How do you paste the frame by frame movie to the center of the stage so it does not have to be moved at all? or else how do i move all frames and objects to where i want them and not just the first frame?

Jul 20, 2010I have a movie clip of all counties in the state of Montana (allcnt_mc). Within allcnt_mc there are individual movie clips specific to each county with name equal to the county's name. When clicking on a county, I'd like to zoom to that county and center the stage on it. I've added event listeners to all counties through querying an xml table that has demographic info I am calling into dynamic text boxes. Here is the code I have thus far to load the xml and add the listeners to the county movie clips.

Professional :: Tweening Parent To Put Child Over Stage Center
Jul 22, 2010I've been working on an interactive map of the counties in Montana. When a user clicks on a county, I'd like the map to zoom to the county's extent and center it on the stage. Every county is a child of a larger container (the state, names allcnt_mc). I've set things up in my function so that when you click on a county POINT variables with all the numbers you need are created. I just cannot get the desired effect and I think I am missing something basic in regards to the geometry of my stage. Can anyone see something I am missing? I set this up so that the parent is tweened to a new location equal to stage center minus the called child's x,y distance from stage center. Essentially, this should center the child over the stage center, no?

A bit of background: I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.
I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.
So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.

Mar 23, 2009My flash movie is 1440x900 but the area where all the important stuff happens in within 1024x768, i am trying to keep the middle in the center regardless of browers size or aspect ratio.
I can center the page but it doesn't work as i need it to. If the browers is small (1024x768) the swf is justified against the left edge, but not keeping the middle in the middle of the brower.

Oct 19, 2011I just realized I was working on 4:3 when I need to make a 16:9 movie. So I resized the stage, but now everything is on the left side.
I tried turning on "edit multiple frames" and marked the entire stage, layers and frames and moved everything to the centre. Almost everything moved, excepted for material that is on motion tween key frames.
