what happens is I have a movie that play out to a lets say frame 299 then 3 buttons will show up on the stage. now when I press button 1 it will start playing a movie starting on frame 300. How can I direct that movie to go back to frame 299 once it is finished playing so I can choose a different button?I know I can add another button at the final frame to do that but I'm not sure if I want to go that route.
Is there a way to reverse Math.atan2 back into a dy,dx value? like dx =5 dy = 3 Math.atan2(dy,dx) then much later after dx and dy are released is there a way to get the dx dy values... hopefully that made sense...I have a cold and the medicine is messing with my head
I've downloaded the latest version of Air (3.1 now), but I can't choose it as my player in CS5.5. Is there something specific I'm supposed to do so I can access it? I assume I can also import the Air 3 libraries into flash builder as well, right?
I have a video business and my website has a lot of video examples. I wanted to show some image quality as well as a decent frame size for viewing. The video files were encoded in AME at vbr 775kbps (max of 1100kbps) with a frame size of 720x405. Do you think these bitrate settings are acceptable for internet speeds today?
I've just started experimenting with RSS in Flash - so far I am able to pull a feed in, but what I want to try now is to actually separate values from within a feed to go to different movie clips. So let's say my feed looks like this:
What I'm trying to do is have a few bubbles of boxes etc floating everywhere where you can click one and it shows a different (or random) <item> from the feed (with the relevant item child values inside). I've looked at creating nodes etc but it seems to only create to pulling the first one with that specific name, instead of choosing from the whole array.
I have a Flash website with 3 interfaces( 3 frames with movie clips inside). they have a button that goes to different loaded .html page(text). But once the back button is pushed on the web browser, it always goes back to the first frame instead of the actual last page, which might have been frame 2 or 3.
So I have this mc: this.slidingMenu it's a mc of a ring shaped menu, which turn around when 2 button get clicked. When the button on the right, mc goes forward until stop(), when the button on the left mc goes reverse until the stop(). In the first case i use gotoanplay, and everything goes fine. For the second I use prevFrame, like this:
I try to load 4 pictures. Loading is fine but the order is reverse.This is the code:
function showThumbnail(id:String, xmllist:XMLList):void{ var pics:XMLList = xmllist.(@name == id).*; for each(var i:XML in pics.pic){ var loader:Loader = new Loader();
[code]....
The "I" is the picture index. I think the order should be 1.png 2.png 3.png 4.png just like the order of the xml ~~This is the output:
What is the easiest way (for Fash novice) to navigate back and forth between the slides of presentation made with Flash Slide Presentation feature. Each slide contains animation and plays well the first time but when if I want to back to a slide, it would only show the last frame of that slidI tried many things including making buttons for back and forth and managed to make buttons that fade when you pan over them (big accomplishment:) but can't get them to actually do stuff for me, like go forward and backward. I tried to assign to the button's frame "UP" thee following script but it doesn't work:
onKeyDown = function() { if (Key.getCode() == Key.LEFT) gotoAndPlay (_currentframe-1)
I am currently working on a site where a button in the flash takes you to an external link. The user would like the browser back button, when you are on the external link, to take them to the page on the flash that was last viewed without restarting the flash. Is this possible?
I am planning to develop a facebook application which uses iframe concept, it involves some rich UI and image manipulation, I am new to html5 but aware of flex
I have recently been using Charles the debugging app. And noticed a very chatty app named skyrocket (a very very cool slide presentation app) sending a lot of data across the wire. It is built in flex by the looks and I was wondering why they had chosen to send their data using base64 and not amf. Is it because they don't want to be locked into the flash platform? Or could there be another reason. Is it to store it as XML in the database as they don't want to be dealing with amf when handing data to other services/clients (iPhone etc).
Ive imported an FLV into a Project. Some computers wont play the video back if the Flash Player is set to Full Screen. The screen goes black during Full Screen. If you set the player to regular, you can see the video playing (embedded into design) but once you set player to Full Screen the video plays on its own right at centre of screen. Im working on a Touch Screen Display that has the display set to Portrait mode. Im investigating if the display card is causing the problem.
I would like to have Flash choose a scene to play at random,then play the scene, then choose another scene to play at random excluding any scenes already played.
I have a GUI using Flex. I have a condition like i need to execute some command line arguments in the local machine and get the results back or output back to a textbox area. How can i do a button on submit, execute command in the local machine and return the output?Command to execute example:
echo logfile.log | grep username
Code:
button1.onRelease = function () { // in this computer, it will now run a command, please wait. }
I am developing a web based multi-player board game and wondering what the best language for the UI would be? Its a board game similar to Go but a lot simpler.I have two options flash or the much touted HTML5 with JS. I have to learn both though I have basic knowledge of JS.The problem with flash is I have to pay for the server component but the UI development could be easier and have a richer look and feel to it. With HTML5 + JS there is no cost involved but the UI development I feel will be clunky and not smooth. This I am not sure.
I got some text that has a background, and the backgroud color can change to any color.
So, I need to find a way to figure if my text will be readable or not, the text should change to black (for example, yellow background) or white ( dark blue background ) if the contrast is not good enough.
So, is there a method to do this?, what would you use to make this work?
And well... this is where I'm stumped. What I need to do is read "position" and "menu_name_ice" (or in fact any of the "menu_name_*" but let's start with the first one) and, using Kirupa's excellent tutorial, that worked just fine except I need to read just one "subject" at a time, not all of them (there are plenty more, all in the same syntax).I'm using "position" to determine the posting order of "menu_name_*" to the stage and "visible" to determine whether or not to do so.
is it possible if i have two versions of a flash file made, to have a redirect or detection that would choose the swf depending on what version of flash player the user has? so if they have flash five they get 5.swf and if they have flash 6 they get 6.swf
I've made several flash buttons for use in my navigation bars. They work great but the "back" arrows on the browser are always grayed out. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of browser I use. The site was made in Dreamweaver and the Flash buttons are imbedded within the pages. I posted the same question on the Dreamweaver forum and got some vague answers.
Is there some code I can put into my Flash buttons?
The site is [URL] or just type "Fire on McGinnis" into a search engine.
