Professional :: Flash Object Outside Of The Flash Window?
Dec 3, 2010
I just saw a standard flash advert which had an object move outside of the flash window (actually it started outside of the flash window and moved into it)Is there any way this could have been done other than manuipulating an identical image using JS and then switching to the flash version as soon as it is in position or using <param="transparant"> (i dont think they used the second method because even white space on the rest of the page did not regester as a flash area when clicked on)I cant show you this because it was being an advert on a major site it was randomly choosen when i went on the site.
click projects button(# 2 from left to right in the toolbar) => click one of the cubes, it will display severa small windows. on topright most, there is a minimize button,
I apologize beforehand but this probably isn't directly related to flash. However I'm not sure exactly which front-end code would deal with this and thought flash developers might know something about it.Is it possible to tilt a flash object in the browser window without altering anything in flash?I've tried googling it but I've either word it badly or received more hits on cellphones than on flash.
This is my first post in this section and forum in general. Keep in mind I don't know AS at all but can do some basic flash. Is it possible to have some object in flash to move outside the flash window over HTML? Something like drop-down menu style.
I have a Flash/Flex object (Flashlight-VNC), which I would like to dynamically resize to fit the entire window after pressing a button in the Flex app. This would preferably happen without restarting the Flex app (and therefore the VNC session). I would just use the built-in Flash fullscreen mode, however Adobe's somewhat silly security restrictions prevent keyboard input while in fullscreen mode.
How exactly can I do this? I'm already using SWFObject to embed the SWF, if that helps. I am open to any solution utilizing ActionScript, JavaScript, or both, however I am not all too familiar with ActionScript or Flex, and the AS-based solutions I have found involve extending a "Sprite" object to add resize functionality, which Flashlight-VNC does not seem to use.
I have a simple HTML file which embeds a Flash file. On the page styling I have a #flashContent with width:100% and height:100%; the Flash object itself has width="100%" and height=100% and is inside a div with id="flashContent". The idea is to make the Flash object (which is a game) to fill the whole browser window even as it resizes.
This works with no problems on IE and Firefox, but there is a small problem on Chrome. About 90% of the time when the page first loads all that is shown is black (the page's background color). The game only appears if the user resizes the window; from then on out it works correctly.
I'd like to ask if there is anything I am doing wrong or if there is an workaround to ensure the Flash game appears correctly on the Chrome browser.
I have created an animation (.swf) with a third party software application. I tried to import it as a symbol into Flash but it is constructed in such a way that it won't work. It requires to be housed within an html environment in order to combine the animation with a separate navigation layer that exists in two separate .swf files.I can mount this animation on a web page independently as it's own page but I really want it to appear within another flash animation. Is there some way for me to create a window in a flash movie that contains a view to an external HTML page so I can embedd this animation? Perhaps similar to an iFrame?
I'm working on a portfolio in Flash CS3 and AS3. I'm trying to avoid doing the whole thing in Flash, so the home page is a CSS/HTML header page that will house a looping flash piece underneath the header, and the inner portfolio will be flash pieces brought into the same CSS header framework.I'd like to know what kind of code I need to use in the portolio flash navigation so that the "home" link will open the CSS/HTML home page in its same window, rather than launching another window. Is this something that can be done using AS3, or do I need javascrpt as well?
I'm having a problem with it that I can't seem to find the solution to. First of all I have been following some tutorials using CS5 and when viewing the created animation in test movie or by double clicking the SWF file they would open full screen. However I have followed a different tutorial and created another file using CS3, and this will not go to full screen.
(White bars appear either side of the animation). This has also happened with another animation, on which I have created a butterfly that moves across the stage, when viewing the animation, you can see where the butterfly goes off the stage. (You can literally see it, even though you shouldn't be able to). Making the files the same resolution makes no difference, as I have tried this, and I'm not really sure what to do next. I have even tried opening this newer file within cs5, but this still does not work.
How do I centre my Flash content horizontally in the browser window? In the Publish Settings I see there are options to align the HTML to Default, Left, Right, Top and Bottom, but no Center. Is there a setting somewhere else? Do I need to write some ActionScript to do this? (If so, what?)
I've created a startup screen for a CD and have published it to exe format. When it plays from the CD however, it opens in a Flash Player 10 window. I am wanting to create a standalone splash screen without the Flash Player bar along the top.
I want to make the stage and contents to resize in ratio to the window size, Like the file I have provided, When you make the window bigger or smaller the contents change with it. How did they do that? [URL]
how to horizontally center my Flash movie in the web browser window after publishing?
A bit of background: I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.
I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.
So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.
I have problem creating AIR ap in Flash CS5.5 window for certificate always reports same error: "Error creating self-signed certificate".I filled all data in it and the problem is probably in "Save as" feature for which I don't know how it works.i put some name there and doesn't accept it.. so what to do then ?
In my game people shoot at 4 different moving images and get points. Simple right? Well one of the images is a question mark that people can shoot and when they do, I need flash to pause the game timer, pop up a new window, display the multiple choice question in the window and wait for the user to answer. I would also like to be able to customize the size and location of the pop up window!
Then if the question is answered correctly close window award 10 points and continue the game. If the question is answered incorrectly, say wrong and then display the end game results screen. Right now I have it to where it opens a pop up in a web browser and askes the question there. The question is randomly chosen from a file called random.html. But I do not want the game to operate that way. I want the game to open the pop up within flash.
I am an artist trying to remake my website...I have a picture of a window on my homepage. The window is a movie. When clicked on, the window lights turn on and a grid of thumbnail pics appear. Each thumbnail is a movie clip. When a thumbnail is clicked on, the movie plays and a larger image appears over the window. The problem is, the window is still active underneath the large image, so if I click on the large image, I am really clicking on the window movie clip underneath, and the thumbnail grid disappears-starting the window movie clip over. How do I make the window clip inactive after it is initially clicked? Also, I would like the larger images to end their movie clips after another thumbnail is clicked, so that there aren't large images piled up on top of each other.
I have a web page in joomla and I embed a video window from UStream that allows my users to see or hear our transmissions. Every time I load the page in which the embeded window is, I receive this error message:
[Code]...
I posted this message before but I notice it was no longer posted. I have no knowledge of programming so I am lost.
I have a flash movie that has a thin white line on the left side which comes and goes as you stretch a window. Does not show up in any other browser. [URL] Same thing occurs in another site [URL] The flash movie is the same width as container div.
I made this 3d object with Illustrator and I would like to make a small SWF of the object revolving with Flash. No need for interactivity. Is there a simple way (accessible to a layman such as myself) to go about it?
I am preparing a presentation DVD... DVD will contain wmv video, user manual and another flash exe file... So DVD interface will contain three elements; user manual, a flash exe file and video.. Flash video window will be short-time video, playing like 5-10 seconds then repeats itself... My question is, how could I accomplish to put video window playing certain amount of time then repeats itself, in main window? I need as3 fla example, which could be so useful for me..
I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]
I have an asp page that will open a new asp page in a new window that contains a swf file with a button.hen the user clicks the button i want to close that window and reload the parent window.
I have a flash video/audio player that I pass different source files, but it becomes glitchy after changing the source file. How can I, via html/javascript, reinitialize the flash object?
I am using swfobject.js along with the ExternalInterface Actionscript 3.0 class to communicate between the two. I tried just setting the data attribute of the flash object to the name of the swf that it already was using. This actually does reset the object, but, after doing so, it can no longer communicate back to flash. What is the method that I should use to simply reload the flash object as though it was the first time it was loading?
Just learning Flash CS4 and I can't believe you can't create or set tabs in a text object. You can set tabs for editing actionscript, but not in a text object. Are you kidding me? Even wordpad can do this.
I am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.
Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.
