Feb 25, 2012I installed Adobe Flash CS5.5 a couple of days back...Trying to learn a few basic tricks such as motion tween (messed up things with the bone tool though)..Well the problem is, a friend of mine made a 3D drawing in Solid Works(a modelling software). It is a sort of box, now he wants me to make a flash animation for the box which starts from a sheet of paper and folds into a box and then the camera zooms out.
Now i have no idea how to do that..jpg file can be made and imported to flash...but as it will be an imported file how can it be manipulated to achieve the final task....taking screen shots of the box at various stages of solid works can be done and then played all together in flash baut it would be very tiresome and time consuming...
I dont want anyone to make it for me just guide me what tools and tutorials to look at.

May 8, 2010i'm currently in the process of linking a movie i've made into a series of interactive scenes, which can half the outcome altered depending on if the player chooses to press certain buttons within the movie. As an example, at one point the character is asleep, and the text "Wake up" appears on the screen, at which point the viewer would press the a or the l key to do the action. If they fail to press a key, the character sleeps forever and the movie ends.I'm making this in Flash.
However, I have such a basic knowledge in actionscript and cannot find a tutorial online to help me with what i'm aiming for. I know how to switch to playing different scenes using actioscript but not how to set it up so that pressing the a or l keys (these are specific to different actions the user can take, only chosen to allow them to have both hands on the keyboard at once to give it their full concentration) to specifically play events.

Jun 28, 2011I was making an animation in flash cs4 and i was making a play/pause button. Everything pauses when clicked but the play button gives me an issue. I have some movie clips with animations in them so when i tell them to play, instead of resuming where they were, they play regardless of whether or not they should be playing.

Jul 26, 2010I am making a frame by frame animation, where I draw a character, make a new frame and use the onion skin to slightly move my character. Is there a way to make a certain part faster than others? I made a character prepare to kick someone, but since i was doing it frame by frame it looks slow. So instead of taking out frames and making it look choppy, how do I make a certain part faster or increase its FPS? I tried making a new scene and changing its FPS, but that still changes the overall FPS.

Oct 29, 2011I'm trying to create a simple button that has an animation in it after you click it. Specifically a clockwise circle animates. PacMan dieing is a good example of what i'm trying to do. Think of a pizza pie and every sec a slice gets taken out till its all gone. Is there a programmatic way of achieving this in ActionScript 3 or do i have to manually animate it in photoshop?
I know how to make a button i'm just not sure how to animate it. If all else fails i think i'm going to grey out the button and then start a countdown from 9 down to 1 then re-enable it.

Jan 15, 2012I have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

Apr 12, 2011I need to make an image gallery that uses a carousel style animation...minus the 3D part.Basically, we'll have an array of images loaded from an XML file...could be any number of images.The stage will have 5 images lined up edge to edge. Each image will be 300x200, but masked to only show the middle 100x200 pixels. The image in the middle (the third one) will be fully visible, with the mask showing all 300x200 pixels of the image.When the user clicks on the next or previous buttons, the entire row of images will slide over and the new middle one will animate open to show the full image.
Screen shot of basic idea: Loading the XML and images and such is no problem...adding them to the stage and setting a mask for each, no problem.It's the actual functionality of getting the whole group to slide at once and the next image mask in line to animate into the center position while the current center position mask animates back down to normal.
(cs5) Making A Rollover Animation?
Oct 19, 2010im making a button and on the rollover animation I want to have it splatter paint, only thing is I dont know how to get an image into flash that doesnt look crappy. I know that I need a vector image, but im not familiar with vectors as I usually use photoshop. I tried using a photoshop brush image, a simple paint splatter in which I was just going to tween to a larger splatter but like I said the image looks blurred because itsa bitmap.
another newbie question, but when you make an animated button, is the background included in the animation? Like lets say I import a button, give it an animation to glow on rollover or something, if i went to use that .swf would the background that it was placed on show? or would it just be the animation that shows on the default web browser background.

Professional :: Convert A JQuery Lightbox Style Gallery Into A Flash XML Based Image Gallery With Categories?
Oct 26, 2010I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. Oct 9, 2010I'm trying to make a simple text animation but the background won't go away from my exports. I need to make a movie file (.avi or .mov) and nothing is letting me remove the white space in the background.Things I have tried:
Go to Publish settings > HTML > Window mode: Trasparent Windowless
Result: White background remains
Make a .mov and in Quicktime Export Settings checkmark Ignore Stage Color (generate alpha)
Result: This time, everything was black (text was black too so it probably blended withthe background[code].....
So far nothing works so what is the deal with flash not comprehending with a clear background in movie files?

The folder is not there. I thought that would probably be the problem. Manual installer uninstalling and all kinds of installing have been tried.
Professional :: If You Create An Animation Can You Loop The Last Frames Of That Animation If A Button Is Held Down?
Dec 6, 2011ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

What I want to happen when a user clicks the animation is for it to switch to the next layer seamlessly (skin>muscles>skeleton). Each layer has the same 60 frames.
