Professional :: Pass A Var From Php To A Swf To Swf?
Aug 21, 2011
Whats the best most correct or professional (less chances of error or most efficient) way of sending a var from php to a swf container and then to a swf that is loaded with the loader class from the container?
I've created some dynamic movieclips. When I click and hold on one of them, I'd like a different library linked MC to appear, and the new MC to be draggable.
I can make the new MC appear, and I can make it draggable. However, I'm a little lost when it comes to telling Flash to forget about the old clip, and make the new one the 'live' one.
In other words - after a click-hold, I want the new movieclip to be movable without the user having to mouse up and then click again.
I'm currently developping a quite big (multi-lingual) application in Flex and I'm now confronted to a problem.I have to do some custom Buttons which have special fonts, special design (like shadow corner radius etc)and the most important, which are oblique not straight.I've made the button in Flash from which I've exported it in SWC.The thing is that, I need different buttons with different labels/icons/backgroundColors.So I would like to know, if there's a way to pass variables to the button class through theSWC file in order not to has one file for each button and each language.
I have a AS3 fla and I have 3 simple contact fields. I am using formmail.pl to pass the data through to email. I published the swf and uploaded to my server and the data passes fine. My problem however is instead of having the default open up from the formmail.pl file is there a way with AS3 to tell flash once the data has been submitted to gotoAndStop on a specified frame and show the user my own page in the same swf file? Here is the code I have for my form. Everything resides in the first frame.
I have an AS 2 movie that has tons of navigation. When the movie first loads, the main screen plays an animation and stops. That animation is my main menu. If a user clicks the home button (which is an MC instance) it takes him to the Home Movie and plays. From here, I need to be able to fade out that movie and fade in a new movie when the user clicks on the next button. So, I want to create a variable on(release) of the button thats within the Home MC that will play the fade out and then be directed to the next animation.I imagine something like this.
I have a flash slideshow on my homepage which displays news by a xml file underand I am using slideshowpro for it. That slideshow xml file path must be set within adobe flash program.What I need in here, when a language is changed from language selector at header, News must be set as selected language respectively. My question is how to get querystring value and pass it to adobe flash so it is changed and set according to the selected language.
var flashvars = { var params = { bgcolor: "#000000", allowfullscreen: "true", wmode:"transparent", var attributes = {} swfobject.embedSWF("swf/slideshowpro.swf", "flashcontent", "550", "400", "10.0.0", false,
I know of flashvars, but how would one send a variable into a swf and then for instance change the variables value and then pass it into the swf again?
I'm having to pass data (originally read via an XML file loaded by the parent class) to a child class upon instantiation, and I can't decide which is the better method.I could parse the XML in the parent and throw the data into an Object and pass that object to the child class....or just pass the part it needs as an XMLList and let the child class do the parsing.Seems like a trivial decision, yes, but I'm not sure of longer-term implications.
Trying to pass a variable as well and cant seem to escape to pass it. How can I pass using window.open as such: Trying to pass (pid) all i get back is (pid) and not actual pid.How to on a jscommand?
Code: something.onRelease = function () { var jscommand:String = "window.open('http://www.someform.php?proj= + (pid)','win','height=200,width=300,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes');"; getURL("javascript:" + jscommand + " void(0);"); }
I can do a standard getUrl("http://www.someform.php?proj=" + (pid), "_blank"); works fine but no control over window properties.
I need to do a good animation for school to pass my subject and I have done several animations. I thought maybe I do an animation with different choices. Basically you have the "Home" Screen and then you chose one and an animation is been played. Then when I press another button, a different animations is being played.
I've created a dynamic text field - mediaImportName001 (created , and populated it with the name of a file that I choose to import using a browse button (as3 and AIR).This works fine - I can import the file, and the name appears in the field.
I'd now like to pass the contents of the text field to another text field. But I can't get the contents. If I try to trace the contents of the textField trace("mediaImportName"+thisNum).text - Flash returns "undefined" (even though I'm asking it to trace after the field has been populated).
I use the following code to check that the field really is there and named correctly (the code returns the children):
In the past I have created a php file that generates the XML and then referenced it in place of the xml file and it has worked. I am trying this with a precompiled flash app and it is not working.
It works if I run the script, save it and then reference that file to the swf. I would rather not generate a file to the filesystem if possible. Anyone any solutions?
i am new to the flash . Just i want to how to pass values from Flash variable to php i am using this code
[Code]....

I have this little quiz I made in flash and it's a movie clip. Now I have a variable (score) that I use to tally up the score. What I'm trying to do next is tell ANOTHER movie clip that if the score is a certain number, play a certain frame in the NEW movie clip. So how do I pass that variable from the one movie clip to another movie clip and tell that clip to play at a certain frame if score=x?
I have a swf with an input text box and a button. When the button is clicked, i need it to open another swf in a new window and pass the variables to a text box in the new window.

I am able to pass a variable from an html link that loads a separate html file and instructs the embedded file to go to a specific frame. But - I now need a link within an swf file on one page to open a new page and tell that swf to start on a specific frame and it is not working. Here is the code I use for the first example - works like a champ:
I am trying to develop a basic game engine for a slime soccer style game where a player can move around and jump. I am still fairly new at AS3 but managed to put together this working bit of code that the game currently runs on:
Code: stop(); //vardefs var runSpeed:Number = 10; var blueGoals:Number = 0; var redGoals:Number = 0;
I have a movieclip acting as a button with a dynamic textbox inside. The text is being passed via a xml and it has a URL associated with it. But the link does not work. When I remove the onRollOver action that makes my mc button show a rollover state the link works. But when the rollover is active it doesn't.
If there's a way to pass the URL via xml to the button, instead of the text inside the button, that would also be good. (even better because that way the whole button would link, and not just the text)
I have a variable in an as2 movie, urlwholoadedme =_level0._url; , that i need i need to pass to an as3 swf that gets loaded ((loadMovieNum("movietoload.swf", 1); ). what is the most efficient way to do this?
I want to put a variable at the end of a URL and have Flash "find" that variable. The url would be: [URL] "Campbell" is the variable I want to pass to Flash. I then have this script in the root timeline: loadVariables (""+agent".txt", this);
I want "agent" to be replaced with Campbell. That way I can have it read a bunch of variables from the txt file. I tried this as well: loadVariables (""+_root.agent".txt", this); What am I missing in this?
I am loading a child swf inside a parent swf, and need to pass variables from the parent into the child. I don't have control over the source code of the child, so I can't have the child pull data from the parent; the data needs to be passed to the child swf in a standard fashion, so that the child works just as if it were embedded in a page using flashvars.I've tried passing variables to the child as parameters on the URL:
var ldr:Loader = new Loader(); var urlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://mysite.com/child.swf?var1=aaa&var2=bbb"); ldr.load(urlReq); addChild(ldr);
This seems to work ok, but apparently Internet Explorer doesn't allow URLs longer than 2083 characters [URL]. I need to pass a fairly long string of parameters to the child which will likely exceed 2083 characters. So I'm trying to avoid passing the parameters directly on the URL, and wondering if there is any other way to populate the child swf with the variables that it will expect. Is there any other way of passing flashvars to a swf-in-swf?
