Apr 5, 2010The website has buttons to navigate on each page. Each page has a sound. I tried the embed and external but when I click on a button to navigate to another page but the sound from the previous page is still there which overlaps on the next page's sound.
How can I make the music from the current page stop when going to the next page? I want the next page's sound to play and not have both sounds play at the same time.
I have tried whatever.stop();, SoundMixer, and everything in the Internet for the past 2 days and I still can't make something very basic as changing music work.

Mar 28, 2010I have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data.So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it?
Here is my actionscript for the video file to show:

Nov 10, 2010I have an FLV video loaded as an "external video with play back component" in my Flash site. It works pretty well, even loads fast regardless its 15MB size. The video located on its labeled section which has an "X" button which closes this section and brings a user back to the page with all the video sections. However once the labeled section with the video is closed the sound is still playing.Does any one know how to make it stop if the section with the video has been exited?Then go to HOW TO section and click on the link "here" for "The Arrangement" show it will bring you to the section with the video loaded as an "external video with play back component" in my Flash site.

Nov 19, 2010I've been making the transition from AS2 to AS3 for the last week and am making progress. But I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I'm using Flash CS5. I have a fairly simple Flash website I'm working on. I have sections on the timeline like Home, About, Photos, Media ... all set up using labels for each of those sections. Everything is working fine but when I go to my Media section where I have a video placed (using the flv component) I'm having a problem as follows:
The video auto plays fine when I go to the Media section but when I attempt to leave the section and go to another the sound of the video doesn't stop. It continues to play when I go to another section and if I go back to the section it starts again. The video is not there when I go to another section which is the part that's confusing me. In AS2 when I did this the video and the sound both stopped because you went to another section on the timeline. Why is the sound of the video not stopping in AS3?
Professional :: Creating Rollover Sound - Stop Once Move The Mouse
Feb 22, 2012What I want to create is a group of 13 images and upon rollover each image would make a different sound. I don't want the sound to stop once you move the mouse though because I want a few different sounds playing at the same time. At this point I don't really care whether they play for their whole duration or just for another 15 seconds! I'm doing this for Uni and the guy said it wasn't that hard.
I have some basic knowledge in HTML code, but I am a complete newbie to flash. I've downloaded Flash C5 and that's about as far as I've got! I'm not entirely sure which template if any I would need to use. I can't pay back in knowledge since I don't know anything, but I could bake you cookies?!

When I tried doing this, I labelled one frame within the myBall movie clip 'normal' and the next one 'glow' and I added a filter glow to the ball on the glow frame.When I play it back, and mouse over the ball it flickers really quickly between glowing and not glowing, and when I mouse out it returns to normal and stops, but I thought it should stop on the glow frame as well.

Mar 4, 2011I understand that in order to make it consume less CPU cycles flash player forces the player to only execute at 2fps (or some other ridiculously low amount) when the swf is no longer in focus (or even if it's still "in focus" but not being rendered to the screen by virtue of being in a section of the browser window that's scrolled offscreen.) Is there any possible way to change this? I have a 3D engine that needs to keep the FR up.

It is correctly redirecting to a different frame, however, the movie clip is still on the stage and playing. How can I modify the following code to make it not just go to a different frame, but also stop the movie clip that is on that frame from playing?

Aug 17, 2010Basically I have a flash website built on different frames of the timeline, the simplest way I think.Some of these frames have movie clips embedded into them using the flv playback component class.The problem I have is the following, the site works fine and videos play fine, but whenever I navigate offa part of the website to another, from a frame to another - the sound of the clips that were playing keepsplaying on the background and never stop and it keeps building up every time I navigate of.f each page.I want to remark that I believe is not only the sound that keeps playing "invisible" but the whole clip butThis is the AS code for my buttons on an example frame, would you be so kind to tell me what I should add or change

Oct 19, 2010I'm sure this is a common problem, I tried looking around on the forum for a problem like mine but was unable to find anything. I'm using Flash CS3, Actionscript 2.0, and am making a soundboard. I have two scenes, one that's the title screen, of which has a sound file loaded via the timeline, (I think) set to Event and Loop, and a button which takes you to the next scene and makes a short sound when it's pressed. My second scene has background music as well, also set to Event and Loop.
Problem is that when I press the button, the background music keeps playing into the next scene. I tried using putting stopAllSounds onto the button, but that makes the sound of the button stop as well, and I'd really like to keep it. I've been messing with this for days, and I can't figure it out.

Professional :: Stop A Sound From Playing If It Is Playing Already
Dec 6, 2011ok so i have a button that plays an animation for fire when held down. and when realsed goes to and stops and frame one. when it reaches the end of the time line it goes to and plays at frame 10 and goes back to the end of the timeline. I have a sound for the fire animation that plays for the effect. The problem is the sound keeps going untill its over even if the button isnt held down. and when the playhead reaches the end of the timeline it goes to and plays and frame 10 and it replays the sound. if i hold it down it will just keep playing the sound over and over from start to finish. what i want it to do it when i hold the button down i want it to play the sound and when released it stops the sound where ever it is at. I also dont the sound to play again if there is a sound already going to stop it from playing 20 sounds at one time it gets loud and you need asprin after about 5 seconds of that.
