How to play a FLV file located in a second FMS not directly accessible by the flash client?
- I am publishing an audio stream from the flash client to a FMS;- This FMS then publishes the stream to a second FMS, which records the stream to a FLV;
How can I play in the client the FLV audio file that I recorded in the second FMS?
- The first FMS is accessible by the flash client, but the second FMS is only accessible by the first FMS.

I'm not getting an error message, so I assume the AS is written correctly. That's what's so confusing. The files are not upload to a server yet -- everything is local. What happens is, let's say, I use FF to view the html file, after clicking a thumbnail, it directs to a page that reads: File not found Firefox can't find the file at /Users/name/Desktop/SITES/grdn_page/elleJapan.jpg.
I put the jpegs and the html in the same folder?
I am testing fms this days, I have put all my files(such as 1.mp3,2.mp3...n.mp3) in my directory.I can play single file fine with url like this: rtmp://localhost/mp3/mp3:x/2
but i want to know is there any way to play all files in my direcotry? for example, user click the play button, the player(smp) automatic plays all files in the directory, link windows media server.Should I use playlist? Or there is another better way?

View 5 RepliesMy Purpose is to record live streams on server side and play recorded files later. What I have done is -
1. Copied All files of applications/live in some safe location.
2. Copied all files from samples/applications/live to applications/live folder. (Deleted main.far from live folder)
3. Restricted SWF and HTML to mydomain in these files - allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt
4. In main.asc I added these line in the end
var mystream;var intervalID;

5. Then I restarted FMS and tried streaming using FLash Media Encoder. I was able to live stream and then i stopped it.
6. A FLV File was recorded in application/live folder with the stream name that i used in encoder.
I am able to view live video on my domain as well as some other domain, that means allowedHTMLdomains.txt and allowedSWFdomains.txt did not worked. Another issue is that I am not able to view recorded video after I stopped encoder but I was able see live video before stopping. I am using jwplayer to view the video and using flashvars streamer (rtmp://xx.xx.xx.xxx/live) and file(abc) to view the live and recorded video.

Also i can run url...ok from videoplayer in the media server but it allows the user to use http so how is this achieve as i cannot get it to work at all. tells me there is no connection. also this i try using local host and my IP address as well but no joy.

The problem is the client who can view my webpage has no flash installer or totally no flash installed on their computer. Actually I have a flash.exe or flash installer in my server. I want to happen is when they view my webpage there is a pop up message for the auto install of flash installer and once they click automatically the flash would be installed. View 2 RepliesI have Adobe Flash Media Server 3.01 installed on my server. I can record files via user's webcam and convert them to .flv with spesific compression sizes. But i want my users my users to upload an .avi, .mpeg / .mpg, .mov etc file via an http form and after upload finishes i want fms to convert file to flv.
It can be done with the ffmpeg tool free but i wonder if interactive server has a feature like this.
I have a problem on streaming my files with the FMS 4. There are several testfiles on my VOD-directory, most of them with a length about 2 minutes. Altough there are some with 12 minutes. So if i want to play all those files with the StrobeMediaPlayer, only the files with a 12 minutes length are working, on the others the player ist sayin "We are unable to connect to the content you´ve requested. We apologize for the inconveniece.".ind any option or notice where it says there is a minimum lenght to stream... so whats going wrong here?Additional Infos:FLV, MP4H.264 + AAC
View 1 RepliesI have an flash application that captures a web cam video stream and stores it on the FMS server.I notice when I create a brand new video, and store it on my FMS server, it works fine.When I make another video and my application overrides the file with the new video, this is where I get problems.When I download the flv file from the FMS server, and I play it locally it plays fine, but the timeline is weird.The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.A 30 second video, will have a time line of like 45 seconds, the local flv player is smart enough to skip over the paused part of the video.You will see it skip over the timeline to the good video (from 0sec to 15 secs). The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.
View 10 RepliesI got a bunch of live stream from FMLE, say: "FMLE_channel1", "FMLE_channel2", "FMLE_channel3". And then on the server side, I created several corresponding republished stream called "channel1", "channel2", "channel3".
On periodical basis, we call Stream.get("channel1").play("FMLE_channel1", -1, 10, true) every 10 seconds. Similar things were done on the second channel & third channel.Soon after the above Stream.get("channel1").play() call, I should get the following events in sequence:info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Startinfo :NetStream.Play.Resetinfo :NetStream.Play.Start In the above case all are happy. Clients can view channel1, channel2, channel3 well.But then after a while, one of the three channels, in most case it would be channel1, will not be viewable.
With the server trace info, I found that after the Stream.get("channel1").play() call, only the following two events exists:
info :NetStream.Unpublish.Successinfo :NetStream.Publish.Starti.e. I was missing the play.reset and play.start event.I further checked and confirmed that the FMLE was publishing all three channels fine to the server. I was able to view the "FMLE_channel1" from flash clients, but not the republished "channel1". the version is FMS 3.5.0.
Is it possible to host my /media/ directory on a different server (that has more space) and have FMS Link to it to player VOD ?

When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.
