Im trying to save from fla or swf to .mov or .avi. without having to buy a 3rd party app.I've tried exporting from Flash but both my computers just sit there and don't finish the job.I can't see any options to save as an .avi file either.I've tried opening both the swf and fla files in Quicktime with Perian
I have made a cartoon section that needs to go into a video movie, it uses a lot of movie clips etc. It needs to be very high resolution- 1920x1080 When I just export it as an avi, none of the movie clips animate- they just slide around on the first frame of their animations.
When I export is as a .mov the file size is huge and I am not even offered the ability to compress it. It is like 8 gigs. When it was finally done the movie played in slow motion- the clip was about twice as long as it should have been. When I saved the file as an swf, and then tried to convert it to an avi using a converter, all the movie clips moved in doubletime, while the animations in the timeline were fine. How can I get my flash file to play in a standard video format.
I've recently upgraded to Flash CS4. However, the project I'm currently working on was started in CS3 and I need to keep it as a CS3 as I transfer the .fla file between two computers because one only has Flash CS3. Is there way of setting it so when I click 'Save' or Ctrl+S it saves it automatically as a CS3 fla, rather than automatically converting it from a CS3 to CS4 file? I'm serial Ctrl+S hitter so this is getting really annoying now having to go to File>Save As everytime!
I am trying to take a variable sent from flash, and save it to a spot on my web server using PHP, I have NO idea how to do this, and I can't seem to find code that works anywhere on the web
I've been all over the interwebs, including Stack Overflow, for hours, trying to identify a solid, workable example of saving information in Flash into an XML file.
I want to take the positions of two different types of objects and export the lists of each to XML. We'll call the objects ball and bat.
Is it possible to set up FDT so that it only builds the workspace when I save (as opposed to constantly or manually) like it does in Flash Builder (previously Flex Builder) and if so, how?
I need to edit some CS5 files but don't have CS5. If anyone could open these and save them down to CS4 I'd be hugely grateful. There are 4 files. If there's a way I can return the favour I will. eg some beer money via PayPal.
I need to have a Quicktime.mov file play inside an .swf using the QT controller. According to [URL]
1. Do one of the following:To link the video clip directly to the current Flash document, select File > Import > Import To Stage. To link the video clip to the library for the current Flash document, select File > Import > Import To Library.
2. Select Link To External Video File, and click Next.
3. If you imported the video clip directly to the Stage in step 1, a warning appears if the imported clip contains more frames than the span in which you are placing it in the current Flash document.Do one of the following:To extend the span the required number of frames, click Yes.To keep the span at its current size, click No. Frames in the imported clip that exceed the frames in the span do not appear unless you subsequently add frames to the span.
4. Select Control > Play. Preview a linked QuickTime video before you publish your SWF file. When you import a linked QuickTime video, Flash adds the required number of frames to preview the QuickTime video, the same as it does for an embedded video.
Note: You cannot use the Test Movie command to preview linked QuickTime video content.[URL]
how do i make flash save to my .txt files, i'd like this in asp, php annoys me. Okay just use the example: my variable i want send is a impute box (instance box1, var box2).
I want to save HTMLText, read from a textfield, and save it. Problem I am facing is that the data comes with < and > instead of regular HTML < and > tags. how can I get the angled brackets instead of < and > ?
I have a couple of Flash CS5 users who are having problems saving files. They can open the file, edit/make changes to the file and save it and from all appearances the save has been successful - the save progress bar has popped up and completed and everything "looks" ok.
However the file changes were not saved. This problem is intermittent, however if it is occuring in the current flash "session" then it will affect all save actions performed - including attempting to save the existing file under a new filename. I've checked for obvious problems on the PC including disk errors and readonly files and so on but I'm otherwise at a loss to explain why this is happening?
I bought a flash intro for my website, I edit it, then I go to save it which works. When I try to re-open my saved file, Adobe Flash crashes. why it keeps crashing whenever I go to re-open the project.
I need some help on how to save down a file. I created a flat vector design with linear and radial gradients. I now have to save this file down to be viewed and worked on in a very old version of Macromedia Flash (Yep, it's that old). The end file needs to be a .SWF. The problem I am having is when I save down, the curves of the vector are lost and get choppy and the gradients lose their coloring and don't look correct at all. I have saved down to every version Illustrator allows me to, exported as a SWF, manually dropped it into Flash CS4 and saved down but it never comes out looking the same.
There is only 1 layer in the file, all shapes are vectors, no masks and the only "effects" I guess you could say, are the gradient fills. how to get this file into Flash and keep it's curves and gradients?
For a project we need to download and save pdf files on an IPAD device for offline use through an AIR for iOs application. After a lot of searching I haven't found much information on this subject. My question is, can it be done, and if so, can you provide us with some pointers to lead us in the right direction.

I'm using sephorith's excellent export jpg with flash and php set up which can be found here:
[URL]
I have this working, taking a simple grab in my flash movie and finally displaying the image in the broswer as a jpg. This is all fine, however, instead of displaying the image in the browser, I want to just save it into a folder. I know very little php, but in the file provided, he uses the line:
[CODE] // print out the correct header to the browser header("Content-type:image/jpeg"); // display the image imagejpeg($img, "", 90);
I was wondering how I might be able to display XML in Flash (I know how to do this...[URL]) but then be able to edit and save those sections through PHP. I've already looked at the News Editor, but that's different... that's just adding entries on top of each other. What I want to do is overwrite specific sections, and turn this:
Code: <?xml version="1.0" ?> - <inventors> - <person> <name>Thomas Edison</name> <comment>Inventor of many things such as the incandescent lightbulb.</comment> [Code] .....
know if it is possible to use PHP/mySQL or using just actionscript to save current status of the flash file section that you were currently viewing and returning to the same section at a later stage when you log back onto the website. What I mean is using a log in/log out script. e.g. > I am at a website (flash of course):> I sign in> start at section one of the website (homepage)> Use website> get to section seven of the website> log off> return later and log on to the website with my user id and password again.
Well i am trying to save variables into a file, prefirable .txt files, but i am having some troubles doing so, all the tutorials say stuff like you need to use php and java, but i am trying to save it to the client's comnputer, so you save it local.here is my script i have so far:
I got to create a web site for school. And I'm going to create a little flash, where someone posts sth very small and the last thing posted is shown in flash, and there is a form where you write and submit. And it should save the stuff posted in a text and people should be able to look at it.Actually, I have "no" idea where to start or what to do. Because I only know HTML, a little XML and AS. If someone could create something like that, it would be great because I could use it as a tutorial and learn some new stuff.
I am using flash builder as my code editor and flash IDE as the compiler. But every time I save (ctrl+s) in flash builder flash pro starts to publish. This is extremely annoying because I am used to saving very frequently and publishing (and cancelling it) takes so long. Is there any way to stop flash from publishing every time I save in flash builder?
I'm using Flash CS4 & Actionscript 3.0 to create a grid with different objects that a user can move with the mouse. This is a standalone application meant to be used on a Windows machine. Is there a way to download and save the user's responses (viz. location of mouse, type of object clicked, etc.) onto the local computer without using the Flash Debugger?
I came across an article [URL] which states that it is possible to save local data onto a user's computer without a backend script (e.g. php) in Flash Player 10 but the article doesn't really say how this is done.
I've got a large(at least I assume it's large, ~200meg) flash file I'm working with that upon saving, it goes into the dreaded "(Not Responding)" mode. Is this a symptom of being such a large file? It's image intensive--I can try reducing the image quality--or is there something else I'm missing?I'm on a toshiba laptop, using the latest version of windows.
