While still enabling it scroll?
I have a Spark List running in a mobile application. When I turn on horizontal scroll bars and then when I swipe as I use the application scroller bars fade in and then fade out. I would like them to always be invisible.
I extend Button to create ImageButton, and I extend ButtonSkin to create ImageButtonSkin. But, when I define hostComponent like this:
public var hostComponent:ImageButton
I get an error that there is a conflict with hostComponent:ButtonBase inside the ButttonSkinBase. How do I extend a skin AND provide a new hostComponent for it?
I'm trying to skin the Scroller in my application so that it looks like the example mentioned in [URL] This example was done in Flex 3 and images are set in CSS. I tried to create a skin for the component Scroller and saw that it uses VScrollBar and HScrollBar. I tried to put skins for these components. VScrollBar uses separate skins for the track, thumb, decrement/increment buttons. I tried to make some changes in the skin, but they were not reflected at all in the application. I just want to create a customized scroll bar in Flex 4 with custom thumbs.

SkinParts are a great way to add event handlers and logic to an object that is instantiated in the skin, away from any business code. Often, though, I find myself wanting to do the opposite, and define parts that will be used in reusable, skinnable containers in the parent mxml files which will be inserted into the skinned containers.
What's the best practice for when you want to be able to define a control and a skin which can be reused with different controls inserted from outside the skin? Edit: A better way to put this might be that I want to use something that works a little bit like a SkinnableContainer, but that isn't limited to one area where content can be placed.
I'm using the default CS4 FLVPlayback skin, mainly the SkinOverPlayMute.swf. I know there's a skinAutoHide option, but because I don't want it to auto play, I want people to see a play button when they first encounter the video (so they don't think it's just an image). But the skin needs to hide when the video is actually playing (so the video doesn't get blocked by the controls).
In other works - when video isn't playing: skin showing; when video is playing: skin hide.
Is it possible to create a invisible mc with in 2 other invisible mc's and if so would there be any complications. Im trying to do something similar and it gets to the second layer but then doesnt want to load the third inv-mc. Like loading an external swf to a container mc then in that same mc have another external load and then another.

I thought about using flash to grab the webcam but that obviously wont work on Apple devices. Does anyone know of a way to do it and keep it all browser based? I am going to make an Arabic application using Flex builder 4.5. I have two questions that need to be answered What is the difference between ActionScript Mobile Project and Flex Mobile Project. (AS Mobile Project supports iOS and Android but I doubt about it!!)
Is Arabic support available in Flex Mobile Projects or AS Mobile Projects? I know TLF supports Desktop and web apps but does it support mobile platforms?

However, it says the file does not exist: [URL] as you can obivously... although, the file is there! I'm using Windows Vista and IIS7.0... I know this isn't flash related, but my research on configuring IIS7.0 has turned up no results... I'm not sure what to do to have that file accessible...

Just show on the penny_mc, Also, I could use suggestions on how to assign the movies which hit their targets a number value, and then keep a running total of all hits in a container, and display the content of the container into the dynamic text field. I have a couple of video clips loading to the stage via loadExternalMovieclip. The video clips were imported FLV's, given skin styles, and exported as SWF's. When I open the SWF's directly in FLash Player, all is well -- the controls appear and work fine. But when they are loaded into an empty, placeholder MovieClip, the skin does not appear![url]...
