Slow Down Embedded Video In .fla?
Jul 6, 2009i have an embedded video in my .fla. It's like the "background" of the scene. I need to slow down this video in a specific keyframe, and then return to the normal speed.

Jan 19, 2010I am using a embeddable Flash based MP3 player (The standalone Version of Wordpress Audio Player, to be exact) to play audio on the web page of a client. Given the nature of Flash based players - AFAIK they all use Flash's audio/video decoding libraries - the exact player product might not matter, though. She complains that some specific audio files sometimes tend to play slowly, as if on a tape deck that doesn't run at full speed. Her machine is a 5 year old Sony Vaio with a 1.5 GhZ Pentium M Processor.
So it's not top of the line anymore but it should not have trouble decoding anything, let alone a MP3 audio stream. I can't verify the problem because we can't set up an audio connection (slow Internet on a remote island), nor can I reproduce it on my 3.3 GhZ dual-code Workstation, but this is a person whose error reports have seldom turned out unfounded in the past, so I tend to take them seriously. I see differences between the encodings of the MP3 files (see below). Any pointers towards which setting(s) to change?

Actionscript 3 :: Video Buffering Impact To Video Over A Slow Connection?
Apr 12, 2012As I understand it video over a connection of say 40Kb/s wont actually have time to load and make a buffer, and it'll be "glitchy", so it wont make much difference whatever buffering is put in place. I'm getting complaints about glitchy video. I don't have access to the servers serving the media so I put a load timer in a swf along the lines of averageLoadSpeed = (bytesLoaded / loadTimer.currentCount) / 1024;
Out of 5 tests run, 2 were below 50Kb/s. And I've been told the server also is not geared towards media and put priorities on other business tasks. The head of IT for this company keeps going at me about buffering, and how that'll fix the problem. I tried to explain that the speed is way too low (32Mb = 32768Kb / 24Kb/s = 1,365 seconds * 60 = 22min) enlighten me on buffering aside from wikipedia's explanation about IO streams.

Jan 2, 2011I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?
Would I have to use something like the SWFObject Javascript API [URL]
ActionScript 3.0 :: Embedded Video And External Video With Playback Component
Nov 9, 2010I have trouble in choosing between external video with playback component and embedded video . I have tried adding video to dynamic page and everything is perfect .This video I have imported using the option File ->import video -> external video with playback component. If I try to execute flv on another system , the video is not playing eventhough it is in library.
So, I have imported video using the option of embedded video and this worked fine on another systems as it embeds video. The video plays for only 2 min 54 sec. I have compressed the bit rate to how much ever I can in premier pro. It resulted in reducing the size of the file but still I see the video occupying more than 3500 frames in the timeline. I feel this is not optimal.
IDE :: Playing FLV Video Backwards And Slow?
Jul 13, 2004I managed to make a controller that can play embedded-video-SWF's in "slow-motion" (1/2 speed, 1/4 speed) and in reverse at different speeds. What I'd actually like to do, is something similar, but then with FLV's. I am trying to use the NetStream.pause() as a toggle onEnterFrame, but that doesnt work. Using seek doesn't seem to work either, because it kind of doesn't like non-integers and also for an unknown reason keeps sending the playhead to 4 seconds. if it should be possible to play an FLV at a different speed/reversed, how to do this, and if this should cause performance issues. (Reverse-playing an SWF is much slower for example)

Dec 2, 2009I have an instance of the flvPlayBack component on my stage called myVideo a list of links down the lhs is used to pop in the required video.If a user gets say 1/3 of the way into a video and the presses a different link for a different video then: the new video pops up but the seek bar is still some way into the new video there is a pause of around 1 sec the seek bar goes back to the start.I want to speed up the return of the seek bar to the start of the new video.

This might be wrong but do I need to somehow remove the reference to the "old" video before I set the source to the new one?If that's junk - and it probably is ...How can I speed the return of the seek bar to the start of the new video?

Apr 25, 2009It is not a daylight discussion, but It is not the first time I got myself researching about that with no success at all. After all, what could be done when Full Screen Flash Video consumes up all the computer resources?
1) Is it a hardware/driver issue?
2) Is it about developing best-practices?
3) Is it some especific configuration on FLV exporters?
4) Is it a Flash Player limitation?
I have noticed some sites provide a really smooth full-screen video experience, but some others shows themselves up with a hell of video performance. My inclination, in a first approach, is towards thread 2. I have done some tests and all of them ended up in a clunky horrible show-time.

Aug 6, 2009We have installed FMS on our godaddy server to work with and used live video streaming services. We are having problems with the video quality being choppy, slow and pauses continuously during live broadcast and motion. We can't figure what is wrong; video needs to be flawless and in high quality. The godaddy server is running:
Red Hat Fedora Core 7
Intel Core 2 Duo - 2.13 GHzRAM
2 GB RAM
250 GB Total Disk Space
I am facing below mentioned problem regarding video broadcasting with adobe flash media interactive server (Developers version). I am using DVRCAST for recording video from a webcam and broadcasting the same live. Please find video settings below.

Our problem is that videos are not playing smoothly in application. The motion is getting paused and interrupted in time of broadcast live. I downloaded and checked the recorded flv files from server and found the recorded file also has same problem. So this problem is appearing in time of streaming the video from client computer to fms server. This problem is not appearing when I am testing the application in my localhost.

Apr 25, 2011I have an interesting project wherein I need to allow users to capture video of themselves with a webcam at a kiosk, after which I email them a link to their video. The trick is the resulting video needs to be a 'slow motion' version of the captured video. So for example, if someone creates a 2 minute movie, the resulting movie will be 4 minutes.I'd like to build this in Flex / AS3 if possible. I don't have issues capturing the video and storing it / generating and emailing a link, but slowing down the video is the real mind bender. I'm unsure how to approach 'batch post-processing' a set of videos using Adobe tools

One more observation, when i liesten to the recorded stream everything seems to be fine like there is nothing oing bad in live session.

Nov 21, 2010I have a video on a page and I cannot get the play list control to appear above it. I have set the z-index of the play list to 99999 but the video is still being rendered on top of it.
Here is an image that shows the problem and the CSS. I have tried setting the z-index of the video to -1, 1 etc. So my question is, how do I force the flash video to appear below the play list?

Jun 22, 2009This is driving me nuts folks. I've imported a video clip to my stage, added a skin for stop, play, pause etc. I test the Flash file using Control --> Test Movie and everything appears exactly as I want it to.

Aug 30, 2011I have created a preloader, to load a single swf file, that has embedded video and sound.It works when I test it, using Air 2.6 settings. But when I compile it, the swf plays, but the sound and video are missing in the swf. I addded the swf, the mp3, and flv files to be included in the Air app. Do I need to add a reference to them as well in the code, or is there some other reason they may not be appearing? Do I need to load the src files into the library of the preloader?
If I play the original swf, that is being called and loaded, it plays with the sound and video. The original swf, the sound src and the video src are all in the same directory with the preloader.fla.
Here is my code for the preloader. It is all in frame 1 of my flash file.The file does not have anything else, other than the dynamic text instance "percent" on the stage.

Nov 19, 2010Does anyone know of any tutorials that explain how to make a seek bar with a handle that will be linked to the main timeline, so that when you move the handle the animation will move too, e.g. if you drag the handle to the centre of the bar then it will skip to the middle of the animation?
I currently have a handle that move on the x axis with in a set boundary, but not sure how to link it to the main timeline.

Dec 3, 2010I would like to play a video in full screen. This is no problem when the swf resides embedded in a HTML document on itself, but..
..now it's loaded into another swf file called 'container.swf' (look at picture A).When the fullscreen function is called from within the swf file that contain the video and the fullscreen button, it goes to picture B. The other two swf files (swf1 and swf2) also goes into fullscreen. My desired result would be picture C.The video goes fullscreen within it's own swf file and does not "take over" the whole screen.
