IDE :: Playing FLV Video Backwards And Slow?

Jul 13, 2004

I managed to make a controller that can play embedded-video-SWF's in "slow-motion" (1/2 speed, 1/4 speed) and in reverse at different speeds. What I'd actually like to do, is something similar, but then with FLV's. I am trying to use the NetStream.pause() as a toggle onEnterFrame, but that doesnt work. Using seek doesn't seem to work either, because it kind of doesn't like non-integers and also for an unknown reason keeps sending the playhead to 4 seconds. if it should be possible to play an FLV at a different speed/reversed, how to do this, and if this should cause performance issues. (Reverse-playing an SWF is much slower for example)

ActionScript 2.0 :: Playing A Movieclip Backwards?

Nov 5, 2009

I hope someone will know a solution to this problem: I have a movieclip with a tween in it, which moves a object up and down.

I have 2 buttons on my _root: One which had to move the object up till the end of the movieclip when pressed so it will stop after reaching the end of the tween. Or it stops playing when the button is released.

Another one doing exact the oposite, it moves the object down when pressed. And should stop at the beginning of the tween. This button also has to stop when the button is released. The button playing the movieclip backwards doesn't work as it should be. It doesn't reverse the movieclip, it just jumps to a previous frame.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Playing Frames Backwards?

Isnt there some kinda code to play the frames backwards? Also, the line is curved, so I cant just move it straight across real easy like. I had to do a lot of tweening.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Playing Movie Clip Backwards

Aug 23, 2007

I have this movie clip that is a vertical menu. the menu has a left and right button on either side and several small thumbnails inside. when you click on the right arrow, the animation plays, which just slides the thumbs along using a tween. I'm trying to get the left button to play the reverse of the animation.

this is the swf here to have a look. i hope you get the idea of what I'm trying to do.

I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do this through action script, but haven't found it yet. how can i do this so it's more efficient or through action script 2.0?

I did do the scroll tutorial before, but I would like it to go from one thumb to the next one at a time. You can also see that the animation I'm doing now is causing the left arrow to play each time.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Playing Movieclip Backwards In Flash?

Jun 15, 2010

I'm re-designing my website in Flash CS4. There will be 6 buttons when it is finished. I have created 6 movieclips that fades in the text when you click on each button. What I'm trying to do is make the movieclip play backwards when a different button is clicked so the text fades back out before the new text fades in. I think I've nearly got it. I googled the effect and found the below action script. I've put it on the first button to see if it works, but I get the error messages at the bottom.

WelcomeButton.onRelease = function() {
startRewind (29);
};
function rewindMovieClip (targetFrame) {

[code]....

I keep getting these error messages:

Scene=Scene 1, layer=Welcome, frame=142, Line 1 - Statement must appear within on handler

Actionscript 3 :: Video Buffering Impact To Video Over A Slow Connection?

Apr 12, 2012

As I understand it video over a connection of say 40Kb/s wont actually have time to load and make a buffer, and it'll be "glitchy", so it wont make much difference whatever buffering is put in place. I'm getting complaints about glitchy video. I don't have access to the servers serving the media so I put a load timer in a swf along the lines of averageLoadSpeed = (bytesLoaded / loadTimer.currentCount) / 1024;

Out of 5 tests run, 2 were below 50Kb/s. And I've been told the server also is not geared towards media and put priorities on other business tasks. The head of IT for this company keeps going at me about buffering, and how that'll fix the problem. I tried to explain that the speed is way too low (32Mb = 32768Kb / 24Kb/s = 1,365 seconds * 60 = 22min) enlighten me on buffering aside from wikipedia's explanation about IO streams.

.swf With Vector Images Playing Slow?

Jun 26, 2009

Flash CS4published with AS2.0Flash Player 10The movie is 15FPS, and lasts about 16 seconds total.With about 40 Vector images that are constantly, coming into the screen and leaving the screen - and when they're doing that they're also fading in and fading out, and resizing.  so a lot is happening on the screen... then after the 15 images or so are done swirling around, they all come in for the grand finale and this is really where it bogs down... All of them, as I said are vector images published as .swfs from Illustrator (if I tried .ai files or anything else it was tons worse).  The movie just completely bogs down, and goes very very slowly - I'm assuming this has to do with the computer trying to draw all the vector images as they are resizing, fading, and moving - etc.

The reason my client wants vector images is because of the clarity - Is there anyway to retain the clarity of these resizing images, but reducing the load on the client side so it doesn't slow down??Also - while I'm here - I should probably look elsewhere, but anyone know of a quick way to expand my movie say from 16 seconds to 24 seconds? Keeping all the same animations but just slowing it down slightly so it's not so fast without redoing everything

Slow Flash Animations After Few Hours Playing

Nov 24, 2009

I have recently developed a standalone Flash entertainment system, containing Flash games and screensavers etc., i have also included a third party mp3 player.

The problem i have is the PC is left switched on daily and the system is used quite heavily, i.e mp3's playing in background while screen savers are displayed and games are played.

Everything starts fine but after a few hours the flash animations slow down to about 2 or 3 frames per second, then the PC will finally crash.

ActionScript 3 :: Playing Slow Motion / Fast Forward And Rewind On Audio

Mar 16, 2012

I googled "as3 audio slow motion fast forward rewind" and found only this of relevance: playing slow motion, fast forward , rewind in a video player in flash video player, which briefly talks about how to fast forward and rewind a video as well as two options for doing slow motion on video. I only need audio, though. I think I might be able to do fast forward and rewind by stopping the SoundChannel and then playing the sound at a different position using addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, ~), but I'm completely lost on how to apply the advice regarding slow motion. I use Flash CS5.5 and all the sounds I want to operate on are already in the library.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Back To Start Of Video Very Slow?

Dec 2, 2009

I have an instance of the flvPlayBack component on my stage called myVideo a list of links down the lhs is used to pop in the required video.If a user gets say 1/3 of the way into a video and the presses a different link for a different video then: the new video pops up but the seek bar is still some way into the new video there is a pause of around 1 sec the seek bar goes back to the start.I want to speed up the return of the seek bar to the start of the new video.

Here's some code:

Code:

function clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
this.myVideo.alpha=1;
if (linkType !="http"){

[code]....

This might be wrong but do I need to somehow remove the reference to the "old" video before I set the source to the new one?If that's junk - and it probably is ...How can I speed the return of the seek bar to the start of the new video?

IDE :: Play Back A FLV Video In Slow Motion

Feb 4, 2009

way to play back an FLV video in slow motion. Ultimately, I would like the FLV player that I am developing to have the ability to both:

1) Play videos in slow motion; and

2) Play videos on a frame-by-frame basis (i.e. a user would click a button to advance the video one frame at a time).

Do you know how I would be able to accomplish both of these?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Full Screen Video Is SO SLOW?

Apr 25, 2009

It is not a daylight discussion, but It is not the first time I got myself researching about that with no success at all. After all, what could be done when Full Screen Flash Video consumes up all the computer resources?

1) Is it a hardware/driver issue?
2) Is it about developing best-practices?
3) Is it some especific configuration on FLV exporters?
4) Is it a Flash Player limitation?

I have noticed some sites provide a really smooth full-screen video experience, but some others shows themselves up with a hell of video performance. My inclination, in a first approach, is towards thread 2. I have done some tests and all of them ended up in a clunky horrible show-time.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Multi Video Player - Audio From The Last Video Remains Playing Even When Prompted To Stop??

Jun 2, 2010

I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. The link to the player is[url]....Even if its a link to a tutorial or something.
