Terminate A Live Stream After N Minute At Server Side?

View 6 RepliesHI installed flash media server 3.0.4 on a Windows 2003 server.I am using the default LIVE application and broadcasting to it using FME version 3.0 Inside FME I choose MP3 as the audio codec, stereo and 128kbps When I watch the stream everything works fine but after a minute (sometimes 2 minutes) the sound disappears and I can only see the video run.If I refresh the page that contains the SWF that plays the stream then the sound works again but then again after a minute the sound stops and only the video continues to play. It is important to say that this only happens when I play a live stream from a server that is located outside of my local LAN. If I play a stream from my development FMS server in my local LAN this problem doesn't happen using the same SWF and same settings in FME.Moreover, if I use the nellymoser audio codec then everything works fine and this problem doesn't happen also. The thing is that I want to broadcast a live event and it is very important that the audio sounds good (stereo and 192kbps) and if I use the nellymoser codec the results aren't that good.
View 5 RepliesIt's natural for users to find something interesting and record it when subscribing to a live video,
but so far I can only record it when publishing,
Is it possible to set a buffer of 10 minutes to either Flash Media Live Encoder or Flash Media Streaming Server? We're considering setting up a live stream for a gaming tournament, but we are concerned about players being able to cheat by watching the live stream while they play.
View 2 Repliesclose another live stream B if opening when stream A is closed? Does FMS support this kind of logic?

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.

I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off.
The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
vid.attachCamera(null);
vid.clear();
ns.attachCamera(null);
ns.attachAudio(null);
ns.pause();
What could be causing this? Is the stream cut off too soon? Is the client unable to send buffered data to the server?
I'm trying to stream a HDS live multi-bit stream, it seems to push to the FMS but my player doesn't display the stream.Are these settings and files correct? The documenation is confusing on what and which files need to be edited and/or created.
Encoder settings:
Bit Rate: 150,500,700
FMS URL: rtmp://myserver/livepkgr
Stream: liveevent%i?adbe-live-event?liveevent
FMS 4.5
I see the following directories being created when I start encoding and each directory has a single file with a .stream extension in them. Are these correct? fC:FMS-HOMEapplicationslivepkgrevents\_definst_liveevent1[code].....
Finding faults in my reasoning, or expanding the discussion further. We are benchmarking FMS 3.5.x for live dynamic streaming and we have run across an issue. When throttling the client from a high bandwidth (1500kbps) to a low bandwidth (325kbps) via a bandwidth shaper (a physical firewall) it takes a very long (real-) time for the client to see the new stream-quality.
During the investigation of this issue we have narrowed this down to:
1. when transition is requested from client, the client-side buffer is 1/2 i.e. 4-5seconds.
2. if transition is request on a client with unlimited bandwidth, it takes about 6 seconds for the server to process, find an acceptable switching position and send a "transition.complete" event.
3. on the throttled client however, this event takes much longer.

One server - is streaming server with Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5that host the application with asc files in FMS application directory.Second server - is the IIS web server that host thehtml,aspx,swf etc.. files.So basically i heve swf file on one server that have to connect to live streaming via rtmp on different server with different ip address.I did not find any clear explanation on this crossdomain rmtp issue.ys only HTTP can use crossdomain.xml policy filebut not rmtp.So what policy security procedure need to be done in order to enableswf file hosted on one server to connect and show rmtp live cam broadcasting from another server?
View 2 RepliesI have an *.flv file on a FMS. When I play it on the client side the video plays just fine, but when I call Stream.play(filename, 0, -1, false) on the server side the video turns out really choppy.I both cases I use NetConnection to connect to an rtmp and NetStream to play the stream, but in one case I connect to a stream and request the server to play my file on that stream. Apparently that doesn't work with files? It works just fine for live streams.
View 20 RepliesI need a way to set the permissions (ex 0777) for the recorded streams without calling any additionals scripts.
View 2 RepliesI understand how clients use bandwidth detection etc to dynamically switch streams via client calls with ns.play2( ... ), but I was wondering if it's possible to only ever use 1 initial ns.play( ... ) call on the client side, but let FMS server side logic that I write dictate which client sees what content. For example, I have 3 clients connected to my FMS server, all watching a live stream. I then decide I want clientA to see 'recordedMovieA.flv', clientB to continue seeing the live stream, and clientC to watch 'recordedMovieB.flv'.

I am recording a video and while recording I issue some NetStream.send("doSomething", params) commands from client side. When I am playing back this video I receive the doSomething events on client side. No problems so far.Can I receive those events on server side? I want to handle those events on server side. Not client side.
View 2 RepliesWhy can't (or better yet) you kill client stream from server side - I seen some code that FME may call on server side like s= stream.get(streamOBJ.name); s.play(false); delete s; application.gc(); // over kill but still did not work
View 2 RepliesSomebody I know can't watch because they have a proxy server.The nc.connect() call to get the live stream fails because it goes direct from AS3 to FMS and doesn't go through the proxy server.

View 1 RepliesMy rtmp client connects to the server ok and rtmp data flowing ok for about 4hours, in the wireshark trace I can see that the server just stops sending data roughly after 4hours. The server version is 3.5.1, and I also try it on a 4.0 server the data stops coming from the server as well after 5+hours. There are no errors or any indication of session disconneciton in the diagnostic logs. I have also looked thru the settings in applicaiton.xml and server.xml I just don't see any obviious reason for the issue. I do send rtmp Acknowledgement to server after the client receives "window size" bytes, and the client sends ping response to server.
View 1 RepliesWe purchased Flash Media Streaming Server Interactive edition in order to have the security featuers of not allowing unauthorized connections streaming live content to the server. Is there a document with procedures that details how to make this happen, the allowedHTMLdomains.txt does not work when you place in IP ranges that you do not want connecting. I need some help just to figure out a way to keep someoen from connecting to the server and not streaming live content. Has anyone configured this in Linux because the documentation is mainly for Windows. Any help/advice would be great since this seems to be a common problem for anyone who runs Linux.
View 10 RepliesI try to switch or change a server-side stream, it starts lagging after 2 seconds of playing and sound disappears. Here are scenarios that result in that terrible lag:
1. I create server-side playlist with stream.play() with reset=false; when it is time to play the next movie in the playlist, it starts lagging after 2 seconds.
2. The same problems appears when I just switch streams. I installed FMF Feature Explorer and tried to launch SwitchStreams sample application: the same problem - server stream starts lagging after I switch streams with stream.play().
I tried on different servers (local and remote), with different players (debug player of FMS Admin Console, Standard Flash videoplayer component, OSMF player, Flex video player). I also tried all possible flv, f4v and mp4 file compression options for video files - still the same problem. I have also tried literally thousands of Application.xml settings: changing buffer, buffer ration etc. Is there any tip where I should search for a solution?
I have a problem with server side caching on FMS (3.5.3).I've taken the live main.asc and modified it in order to record streams on the server with timestamp names.as follows:
/*
* application.onAppStart:
* is called when application load. It contains Live (out of the box)
* application specific initializations.

I use FMLE (3.1) to stream to the server and all works fine when i have only 1 stream going at one only time.Now when i have several clients streaming to my server, the new client will stop the old client recording after a minute or so. tracing doesnt even flag the fact that the stream is stopping recording.
I Need to Broadcast 20,000 to 40,000 Live Streams.! (Bitrate : 128Kbps / Viewers Per Stream Apprx-10 Server : Adobe FMS Server Amazon EC2 Instance - Bandwidth Apprx 100mbps)My Question is1. How Many Concurrent connections Possible for one Adobe FMS Server? (Amazon EC2 Instance)2. is this possible to use RTMFP for this process? (20,000 Connections Via Amazon Adobe FMS Server EC2 Instance )3. if Possible Over RTMFP then How Many Developer Keys Need for this Operation. (or) Pricing Details for the Developer Key. (or) Any Separate Key[s] Available For Amazon EC2 Instance?
View 1 RepliesI'd like to push a prerecorded flv as live stream to another server, from wich clients can receive the video as live stream.

monitorStream.flv lies on my FMS. So from the debug-output everything looks fine. But i donīt see any video, when i play the published stream on client-side. The outgoing stream itself is correctly published.
I have a HD Camera streaming a live feed through FME 2.5 to FMS 3.0 using the VP6 codec and it works fine. I have now been trying to get the same stream running via H.264 and althogh FME 2.5 connects to the FMS 3.0 server and the stream starts with FMS 3.0 reporting the stream no problem. The Client application crerated with Captivate 3 using Flash Player 9 for publishing no longer dispays the video. Switching back to VP6 works again.
View 4 RepliesI'm running the Interactive Flash server 3 and I'm wondering is there a way to give people a user & password to limit who can live stream into the server.I can do this with the Real server and Windows media fairly easily but having problems figuring out how to on the flash server.Currently if you have the Servers IP and the flash encoder you can stream with no Username or password required. I would like to restrict this.
View 3 Repliesi have an urgent question for the following purpose. We plan to develope a solution consisting of a sender software for streaming live video to the streaming server. Now more than one client should be able to connect to the stream of the server. Because the different clients are connected with different bandwidth rates the server should be able to convert the video stream (e.g. the video width and height, framerate and quality) on the fly. Maybe a client with a better connection than DSL should get the video in a resolution
of 640x480, a DSL client should get the video in 352x288 and a client with ISDN in 176x144.
Is there a possibility to do this with the FMS server on the server with server-side ActionScript? Or can I limit the requested stream size on the client side? Or anything I can do?
i need to stream a live TV Online. I have a computer with windows server 2003 and i wiil instal the adobe flash media server. I need to understand whow i can do this. I am a bigginer, what is the steps for i build a flash media server.
View 2 RepliesMy fmis server is 3.5.4 and I use flvPlayback to play the fms live stream.
I want to let the live stream stopping status after be load completed.but after I set the autoPlay=false, the fms live stream is not stopping status after be load completed.
However I try the fms vod stream as the autoPlay=false ,is can stop .
what's different the live stream and vod stream. why the vod stream can stop but live stram can't stop?
Is there anyone who has a HTML example (or can give an URL with a page) that has the Adobe Flash player displaying a live stream (and not a file)?There is one in the installation under "Flash Media Server Start Screen" but it was too complex for me to understand. I just need a simple example on how to display a live flash stream in Adobes own web player.
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded to FMS 4.5. I'm able to stream live event via HDS but I can't stream live events via HLS. I can use VOD via HLS but not live events. I tried access the HLS url directly on my iphone and even tried embeddeding the <video> tags in a HTML file and get the same results. What I did notice is that in my application folder on the server I only see the HDS files being created. I do not see the .ts files that I beleive are supposed to be created when streaming to HLS devices.
