My text is displaying at the wrong size within flash, and when I export it, the text looks completely different. It's making it extremely difficult to work on my site, because any graphics I align with the text are way off when I preview the file.
Notice how the green bar didn't change size, but in the preview image, the bar is way longer than the text. I have been working on this site for a while, and I had no trouble with it until today. Now all of my text in all of the files is screwed up in flash, but still looks fine in the html page.. I need to get this fixed so I can keep working on it
I made a banner that will appear at the top of a website, though I just found out I need to decrease the width of it. I would like to export it at a smaller size, so I go to Publish Settings and I notice I can change the width and height. How can I do this while maintaing its proportions? It is currently 791 x 275. Using CS3.
Just wonder if this is common practice, but this is first time when I noticed, that if I export .swc from my library and then use the .swc from 'library path' by instantiating document class in new .fla I got my .swf two times smaller in size than publishing it by F12 method. I wonder what content was compressed, code or library objects (graphics)? Have about 40 classes in my app, and just guess that result was produced by compressing the code mainly, but maybe some of you can tell couple words about that.
I'm running CS3 and using AS2. I'm not new to Flash, but this is a new problem that suddenly just started happening.My text is displaying at the wrong size within flash, and when I export it, the text looks completely different. It's making it extremely difficult to work on my site, because any graphics I align with the text are way off when I preview the file.
I attached an image showing what I mean- notice how the green bar didn't change size, but in the preview image, the bar is way longer than the text. I have been working on this site for a while, and I had no trouble with it until today. Now all of my text in all of the files is screwed up in flash, but still looks fine in the html page.. I need to get this fixed so I can keep working on it!
I am new to Flash so this may be a basic question, but I have not been able to find anything in the help files or the forums. I have tried several times to change the size of my quicktime movies, from 550 pixels by 400 pixels to 480 pixels by 480 pixels, and I cannot seem to do it. I have used "Modify > Document" and tried every option I could find through this command. Each time I export I double check that the export settings match my desired size, and they do, but when I open the movie in quicktime, it has been stretched to fit 550 x 400 pixels. The preview movie looks exactl how I want, it is only the exported movie that is incorrect. Is it possible to make a quicktime movie of the size I would like, or is that a standard format that cannot be adjusted?
As a workaround, I have tried squeezing my 480x480 content into the 550x400 stage (while scaling it prportionally). but when I do this, the square of content is not centered in the background in quicktime. It is off center in the preview movie as well, and this commonly occurs after I have used "modify > document" to change the size of the document. The side to which it is aligned seems to be inconsistent. Is there a way to realign the video after I have modified the document size? Does changing the document size through "modify > document" affect the centering and alignment of my video? Is there a way to change it back?
I have a Flash movie that I've created but when I export the movie the text appears very fuzzy. I have the alias text set and also I set it at the highest quality jpeg on export.
Seemingly randomly, my all of my static text in my swf gets shifted down 10 or so pixels. I go back to my FLA, and everything is lined up. what could be going on?
This morning I walk in, and all my text is shifted IN my fla, which i definitely did not do.
I'm doing some pretty simpe text fades in flash by changing the alpha from 100% to 0% for a piece of text.This works fine in the SWF export, but when I export to AVI the text corrupts (shifts, expands and looks interlaced) during the fade portion.I've tried doing this with a brightness shift, and even ticking he "cache as bitmap".I tried exporting as 32bit movie with alpha. That stops the corruption, but now there's a flicker juse before the fade that's not there in the SWF!
Problem: I am trying to get a very simple text resize going, for my main content area in a flash website. My aim is to get a button, that on click, increases the text size of a dynamic text field.
[Code]....
This is what I tried, I am very new to Action Script, so excuse the futility of my code.
Why do the dynamic text font size appears smaller than what I specified in the flash dynamic text properties? I used a font size of 50 for the dynamic text and when I test movie, it appears to be only a font size of 12. Why is it so?
how do i keep text in a text field from being stretched? when i say text i also mean pics cuz i loaded from a html file.the thing is, i have a container thatresizes to display different content and the text field is in it.. i dont want to alter it
While creating one photo gallery I am facing one problem in controlling the Font Color, Font Size and other characteristics of a text loaded into a text field from an XML File. The name of the text field in question is my_txt it loads the title from the xml file attached herewith. how I can control the behavior of the text loaded in that text field.
I have this line of code that changes the size and color of the text but not the weight I have tried a load of variations but can't get it to work headline.text = "<font size="20" color="#FFFFFF" weight="bold">" + arr[0] + count + "</font>";
So, I have a dynamic text box, which, naturally, being dynamic, changes. What I would like to figure out is how to tell when the changing text is larger than the textbox holding it. Of course, just because it is a certain number of characters long doesn't mean it will be larger than the textbox holding it. Twenty of the letter "w" is larger than twenty of the letter "i" So, is there a way to tell if the textbox isn't large enough to hold its text?
I'm having a frustrating problem. I'm trying to get the text announcing the levels in my game to be the right size when it's online. It works fine offline, but when I put the swf up online the text looks like it's about 2.4 instead of 24 like I am trying to get it. Here's the code in the start game method:
I have some text pulled in from a db via cfm and remoted into flash - I'm trying to figure out a way to determine if whether or not a given string requires the vertical space of a multiline text box.Visually, two lines take up more space than a single line and when the string only takes up a single line, the second (empty) line creates to much whitespace and has everything below it too far away from that initial single line. When the string can fill both lines, it doesn't look bad at all - so, ultimately, I'm trying to get that whitespace gone.
I have a few text fields where text is driven from a .txt file on the server. I would like to have the ability to change the size of the font (which is embedded) to a larger/smaller size from a server .txt file (the same one as the copy comes from) to make a sort of style sheet for the copy.I have already done this for the colour of the 'movieclip' containing the font using this;
onClipEvent(load){ changedcolour = new Color(this); changedcolour.setRGB(_root.offState_1);
I've made a fairly small (at least in my eyes its small) flash site. However, even tho there really isn't much content, the swf is already 2.4mb and I haven't even finished it. It loads fine on my internet speed, but im worried about general users with slower internet. Is there something i should be doing to get the file size down (hopefully without comprimising quality).2. Text Buttons (Movie Clips)The rollover function (Event Listener) for MCs containing text keeps running while the mouse is over the button. I.E. It isnt treating the text box as a button, its treating the text only as a button, so as you roll between one letter and another, the rollover is re-set and re-starts.
What is the best way to dynamically size a text field?I've been able to size the width (probably not the best way), but how about the height? What variable can I use to find the number of lines used in a text field?[code]
I'm trying to alter the text size on a button component.I can get in and alter the button graphics properties (color, etc.), I can change the text in the instance properties 'component parameters', and change the text placement, however I don't see where to alter the font size or the font.
When I click the type tool and drag a text box out and type a couple words at 235pt size it looks fine. as soon as I click off the text box, the text size jumps down. I have no idea why this is happening and I can't get it to stay. When I click the type tool on the box again the tet appears at the 235pt size. But when I click off of it and play the movie it is at the incorrect size.
