have just built a website in Dreamweaver CS4 which has a different Flash banner on each page with a fade in/out text. My problem is that in Firefox the whole screen flashes white for a second when moving from page to page. It seems to work fine in IE. The link is [URL]

[URL] For reasons unknown to me, the xml gallery on the page above won't load in any of the images in Firefox. However it does work in IE7, as well as locally in Firefox, Safari and Opera. I have tried removing the whole site and re-uploading it, as well as updating the individual files separately but I still seem to have the same problem.

View 1 RepliesI've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present.It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?

View 1 RepliesI am primarily a designer and a minor programmer. I am pretty new to action script - although I have made numerous buttons and movies in flash. I am re-designing my web site using dreamweaver and I am loading animated flash rollover buttons of my thumnails into dreamweaver. When I view the illustrations page the seven buttons I have plugged in so far show up instantly and work just fine - click on them and they open the page with the illustration, but in Firefox the same page opens with white squares indicating the placing of the rollovers and unless you mouse over them and activate them that is all you see. if you roll over a button and allow the animation to occur you will then see the button and it works etc., but if you navigate back to the page it happens all over again. I have not been able as usual to test it yet in explorer because I don't have a pc - I work on a mac and all my computers are macs. But Safari and Opera work as I had expected.

YouTube videos appear as a white screen when embedded on the page in Chrome. I hear sound.2 The video is normal when I switch to full-screen mode.3. HTML5 videos display normally in Chrome4. Firefox displays YouTube videos without any problem.5. Ubuntu Lucid 10.4, with the same software components, displays YouTube video in Chrome without problems.Any thoughts on correcting this odd problem?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to compress a video into an flv for my flash file. When I compress the video using flash video encoder the video shows up white but I can see the audio. The original version is compressed using H.264. I don't know enough about codecs to know why its not showing video.
View 1 RepliesIt looks like the resizing of a flash movie does not work in firefox.When i export a swf with the publish settings width=100%, height=100% the movie resizes well in the flash environnement and in ie but in firefox, the height stays constant (200 pixels !!?)I tested with the code below (and the publish settings to size=100%)

from time to time I get feedback from my web portal customers that they cannot see Flash component on the page - instead there's a blank white region. When it happens I instruct them to clear browser cache, and it solves the issue. Is there any way to handle this differently, using HTTP headers etc.

It seems that when i remove the FileStream code the flash swf file works on the HTML page but when i revert back to add the FileStream libraries and code the flash flickers in IE 8 and Mozilla displays a Blank screen. My full screen flash site works oerfectly on Mac's (I have a mac). But on PC IE and Firefox the full screen flash site is cut off 1/4 of the way down the page (see screen shots in zip or test if you are on PC). live site [URL] The site uses a swf object (files included in the zip). I got this from a template on flashDen. my problem is that I only have my mac and can't test on PC IE / firefox. Not that I would know where to start. I think that the problem might be the swf object from [URL] but not sure? I need to sure my site to apply for jobs. But recruiters use PC and it is very embarrassing that they can only see 1/4 of the screen.
View 2 RepliesMy client wanted two distinct swf on a web page: a viewer on top and a slideshow of images at bottom.Clicking a link on the slideshow make the viewer load a movie, by means of LocalConnection api.The slideshow has a default, so when the page is loaded a default movie start.This works nice on all browser. The only problem I have is on firefox. When screen resolution is too low, or the monitor is too small (netbook) the slideshow remain hidden until scrolling. Therefore at page loading it doesn't start and the main viewer don't get instructed on playing the default video.As soon as I scroll the page, and the slideshow swf display on page, it starts and everything works fine. I cannot change the design, I must have two distinct swf, the come from a library he has, and I am trying to reuse components.
View 2 RepliesI found a tutorial online to do a Image Slideshow. [URL]. But, I can not get anything to work. I am new to this and unfortunately do not have time to do any formal training right now. Probably when this project is done. When I "test movie" I just get a white screen w/ nothing on it. I should be getting a box 500x500 w/ a box that is 400x400 for my frame. I just finished step 3, and I do not get my frame box like a should.

Should bring up a login when you go to that site. However in Chrome It seems to be loading something and then I just get a blank white screen. Sometimes it loads but if you then hit refresh it will bring you to a blank white screen instead of reloading. Also interestingly if you are staring at the white screen, if you double click, click drag click around alot on the page it will come up kind of like its there but not being displayed. this problem only displayed in Chrome -- IE, Firefox, safarii etc. Perhaps my HTML is bad? I can't believe that because when I use the raw-HTML output from a publish in CS5 It is still giving me this behavior? Also others have had this problem with my site so it isn't just my browser/computer combo.

I painted my stage black and when I simply run my flash file it traced "loaded" so everything is loaded well and it builds the UI. But when I simulate by pressing ctrl+ enter twice I get a white screen and after about 10 sec. (my swf is 1mb and it simulates at 100kbs) it displays the preloader instantly at 100% and loads my UI. So my text doesn't change from 0% -> 100% but I just get 100% when everything is loaded.
I have a slideshow that is set up to run on an LCD screen. The problem is the slideshow turns to a white screen when left running overnight. I would like the slideshow to continuously play without having to do a browser refresh each day. I am thinking there is some build up of memory that is causing the problem. I have a loop to continually check my xml file to see if anything has been updated.

I am working on a website right now and when I go to the html version of it, all it does is just sit there. A blank white screen for maybe a minute and hwen it finally loads the preloader only comes up for a half a second.
View 1 RepliesI was looking at making a site similar to this [URL]..The way the white frame scales into whatever the screen res is with no distortion and the center movie I have code to allow that to stay centered, but not sure how you restrict it from overlaying the frame thats on top of that.
Basically I was just seeing if anyone was able to replicate this exact movie, with out the graphics, and I can build the rest. If you need code that I have sourced already that is fine. I can send some of that.

View 1 RepliesNot sure why this is happening but everytime I test a movie (CTRL+ENTER) in Flash movie it produces a blank white screen. I even created a new Flash file with a simple Shape but it still gives me that blank white screen when I run test movie. It does, however, run correctly when I click the *.swf that got generated. I'm not sure if my work recently upgraded me to a newer version of Flash Player.

View 2 RepliesI followed a tutorial on gotoandlearn.com and followed it to a "T," yet cannot troubleshoot this myself. I built a simple preloader in AS2, but when I simulate the download for a Flash website in Adobe Flash CS4, all I see is a white screen, then it continues to the website. I previewed the bandwidth profile and I can see that it's working it's preloading magic; I just can't see the animation.
I looked through numerous forums and I am not using an components that are exported to the first frame -- at least that I know of. Has anyone experienced the same issue?

I am making a website. Client's requirement is full browser will be flash but content will be fixed. There is a line in the header which will scale full browser.
Please check the attached rough layout. Red border will be removed. Now it is a guide of flash movie. I need to make white line in the header full screen and rest of the movie fixed size. Scrolling no problem.
I have a an unobtrusive flash video looping in the background of a website, it is not essential to navigation - it is purely cosmetic.The flash video loops every 30 seconds.As this video is on all pages, it jumps back to the start when a new page is loaded.Is there an actionscript / javascript way to get it to remember the position it got to on the old page so it can start there on the new page?I do know that this can be accomplished by loading the flash movie in a frame as well as by having the subsequent pages load the contents in AJAX but I was hoping not to go down this route.I have seen other people ask the question and allude to the solution but they only posted that they got it to work without saying how.

Instead of loading each page through HTML, ive decided i could do a seperate frame for each page. However, to reach the menu at the bottom, you have to scroll down. Is there any way to make it so that when you click a button to load a different page for the flash player to scroll up all the way to the top of the page itself?

Flash will ONLY load when it becomes into view on the screen For example, it won't load a Flashmove that is at the bottom of the page INSTEAD: it will ONLY load when that part of the screen comes into view
- Older Flash, ver 7 and below, this isn't a problem
- Newer Flash, ver 8 and above: problem
